330ml bottle shared with Finn. Dense, off-white head over a deep, ruby-red body. Aroma of mid-sweet malts. Caramel malts in flavour together with peppery hints and yeasty fruitiness to the ending. Dry and soft mouthfeeling (Romjuls party, Tromsø 27.12.2009

Bottle. Pours a brune body with a yellow off white head. Some sweet bread y fruit esters with a dry earth toned body. Earth y dusty fruit notes, hints of berries some bread y yeast spiciness and a medium warming. Decent.

Rubescent brown body with rocky, carmelized head that is quite poofy. Clean yeastiness greets the nose with inflections of dust, malt, caramel, and a hint of banana. As it warms, a tobacco scent and flavor vein also appears. Full-bodied brew that is nicely layered with flavors of chocolate-banana, light caramel, malt, and clean yeast. A seamless melding of elements. A solid dubbel.

Pours clear orange with a large white head. Tastes sweet bubble gum with a moderately sweet, light alcoholic and metallic finish. Syrupy texture. Aroma was partly overshadowed by leftover cleaning agent in the sampling glass. Smelt like artificial like a thawing freezer or dry ice. So this is a candidate for re-rating. Very dark brown, rocky uneven head without substantial foundation or structure, thin lacing. Sanded down dubbel aroma, good but muted. Don’t get the gruut, perhaps save for the dryness throughout. Driftwood and pale caramel. Little light and airy as a dubbel, darker than a ’single’. Seems overproduced and homogenized.

dark red with a good head, malt aroma, slightly sweet malt taste but for a strong dark beer it was a bit watery.

Not as bad as the ratings would have you believe. Not that great either. NIce dark double that pours brown with tan head that sticks around a little. Sweet, but finishing clean - notes of fig, over ripe pear and dried apple. Decent.
