Travlr (115), Washington, Washington DC, USA Nov 29, 2008 Vintage 2005 tasted in September 2008. Very dark brown with medium pale tan head. Aroma of malt and caramel. tastes of liquorice and caramel, the sweetness nicely balanced with hoppy bitterness, especially late. Bragesnak (1455), Aarhus, Denmark Nov 28, 2008 From Voldby, DK.

Dark brown with small but nice head. Aroma of malt and wood. Flavor is caramel and dried fruit with a tangy note. presario (2497), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Nov 28, 2008 2005 BB4 Nov 30, 2013. Very dark amber looks dark brown until held up to the light. Lasting thin head. Sour edged scent, malty vinnegar, or sour soy and molasses. Melds into a wine dipped cigar kind of aroma. Flavour starts out as aroma implied. In addition to the sour oak, soy and light molasses is a layer of chocolate. Complex with lots of layers but dominated by the sour oak edge particularly in the finish. PilsnerPeter (1615), Flushing, New York, USA Nov 27, 2008 Bottle (Thanks ygtbsm94!) Pours deep muddy burgundy with a thick dense tan head. Big, yet tame aroma. Smooth dark fruits, raisin, dried fig, cocoa, mild vanilla booze and smooth oak. Fluffy feel to the body. Rich flavor. Has a plummy richness along with warming winy character. A slight fruity tartness- almost like plum wine. Toasted Belgian malts, cocoa, dates, and a toasted oak finish. The finish has residual dark malt character of caramelized brown sugar. Complex, rich and tasty. Miksu (1348), Jyväskylä, Finland Nov 21, 2008 0.33 l bottle, vintage 2005. Hazy reddish brown color. Warming, vinous, chocolatey and nutty aroma with licorice and some meaty-woody notes as well. Tart-fruity and vinous flavor with chocolate, gooseberries, raisins and wood. Hint of sharpness from alcohol and tart fruits. Tasty, but I prefer the original which is smoother and not so tart-fruity-berryish.
