Pours a deep copper in color. Had the cask conditioned version in August. Notes of sweet malts with a nice backbone of nuts. Finishes with a nice rounded bitterness.

Cask at the brewery. Pours a nice reddish copper with a thick off white head. Malty sweet nutty aroma. Smooth malty taste with hints of sweetness, nuts and toffee. Great style to put on cask, the slightly warmer temp of the beer let a lot of flavors pop out. Really tasty session beer.

Cask at TBBC. Pours a translucent golden amber with an average creamy/lacing white head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, nuts, citrus...kind of light aroma. Flavor of the same...kind of grainy with a touch of sweetness and hops.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours clear deep gold with a copper core, off white head and decent lacing. The aroma is malty sweet and roasty but leaning toward the sweet side. Overall the nose is too meek. The taste is mild with some pale to highly roasted malts along with a stream of mild hops that border on tasting pine like. To go along with the pine-ish hop note is a spice hoppiness that tries to carry the flavor experience to the finish. Decent ESB

Rating #400. Tap Pours a clear copper with a small white head that fades to a ring leaving good lacing. Aroma of bready malt, light caramel, and earthy floral hops. Taste is the same as aroma. Medium mouthfeel with a moderate amount of bitterness. Good.

Draught at the brewpub. Golden orange pour with a smallish white head. Decent retention and some drip lacing. Nose of citrus fruits, bitter astringent hops, caramel malts, pine nuts and freshly mowed grass. Fore is similar, concentrating on the citrus and also a nice big malt backing. Might be too malt forward in the end, would like a bit more bitterness for this style. Medium bodied, slightly astringent. Finish is lengthy, bitter, citrus and floral hops, sweet malts, grass and then more bittering hops throughout the finish. Could have been better, but this is still a pretty good beer.

Draft at the Brewpub : Pours clear dark amber color with a finger of white head, nice lacing. Smell of sweet malts and alcohol. Tastes’ malty with a hoppy end, not bitter at all. Medium body with a smooth palate.
