| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 3, 2009 Pours cloudy deep copper. The aroma showed some notes from the barrel and the palate had some hints of fruitiness (almost plum like) with nice hints of vanilla and caramel at the end. Really nice effort. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Sep 1, 2009 On tap infused with CO2 straight out of the barrel at TBBC. Pretty cool. It pours up amber with a bit of haze and lasting tan head. The aroma has nice vanilla notes, some coconut, oak, a touch of earthiness and sweet malts. The taste begins sweet with malts, nuttiness and vanilla creating a very sweet start. It then blends into some oak and booze to help dry it out and lean the flavor balance just a bit away from full on sweetness. The barrel notes begins to really overshadow the beer but the sweet full body persists creating a slick smooth mouthfeel for a barrel aged beer. sebletitje (1995), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 30, 2009 My favorite TBBC beer to date. Blown away by how great the beer came out.
Cask pour, straight from JD barrel.
Pours copper, cloudy with a thick off-white head.
Aroma had plenty of whiskey notes though not overpowering. Nice aroma of vanilla was apparent. The McBrews scotch is also noticeable, hints of caramel, dark fruits.
Flavor, whiskey barrel is sweet, hints of vanilla. Mouthfeel isn’t overly boozy though the barrel is right where it should be.
Some chocolate elements, vanilla sweetness, caramel malts, hints of wood.
Better grab some more before it runs out. markwise (1200), 15 Minutes from Kuhnhenn in, Florida, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 29, 2009 Wow. I was blwon away by this one. Pours amber brown with an off-white head. Nose is toasted malt, maple, caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, whiskey, and barrel. Flavor is similar with sugar coming through leveled by the barrel. It is sweet with whiskey, but not overdone. That said, it could have used more barrel time, but it stands as the best beer I have had from TBBC. Medium-bodied and very enjoyable. At 8.4%, it is almost a session BA beer. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 28, 2009 Poured a deep amber brown with a rediculously thick tan head. Nose was whiskey, mild wood, caramel notes, some toasted malt, sweet brown sugar and earthiness. Flavor was fairly mild at first and became more complex as it warmed. Mild amounts of whiskey, booze, roasted grain, bread, sweet caramel, good amount of oak. I have to say that the contraption set up to serve this beer was an insane science experiment. Good drinking beer! Could have used more barrel time.
