Lightly hazy gold. Large white head. Mildly sweet clean malt and floral, herbal, aromatic yeast and hops. Flavor adds some bitterness, earth, some bready elements, and a twang of sourness. Medium body, balanced carbonation, dry finish. Would love to see more beers like this in 6 packs.

Bottle (6.5%): Pale golden, hazy to cloudy, big - gushing - fluffy off-white head, floaties visible; phenolic-yeasty nose with oranges and orange-peel around, some hops also detectable; moderate to solid sweet-bitter flavour, medium bodied; solid citrousy-hoppy finish with a distinctive acidity. A fine, refreshing stuff.......

Draft @ Thiriez. Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a small white head. Has a fruity malty slightly yeasty aroma with some hoppy hints. Fruity malty yeasty citrus flavor with some weak hoppy hints. Has a fruity malty yeasty finish.

Fresh 2009 750ml bottle. Pours an extremely cloudy, glowing, dusky golden-orange amber hue. A lasting, rocky head of eggshell colored foam leaves sticky, foamy patches of lacing on the glass. The aroma shows a lightly sweet, candyish malt base with fresh, dry grains and spicy, grassy hops notes. Hints of lemon rind lend bright fruity notes. Flavors are nicely balanced, with the grassy, peppery hops and spicy lemon peel lending dry bitterness and zesty fruit to the underlying clean, blonde candy malt. Hints of young, wild yeast come through as well. The body is substantial, but far from heavy, with a fine, zippy carbonation and a semi-dry finish. This one makes for a nice brew on a hot summer day. Good stuff.

Pours with an enormous head that sticks around and settles on the bottom of the glass, the color is a nice hazy blonde with plenty of suspended sediment. The aroma is floral and a little fruity with some mild soapiness. The flavor is outstanding spicy and lemony with some good hop flavors, a nice sweetish malt just wants to poke it’s head through but this is largely very dry and mildly funky, a good beer for an Orval lover.

Bottle. Very mild musty yeasty aroma. Yellow orange body, gigantic fluffy white head. Pleasant mild slightly fruity and spicy flavor, very mild somewhat bitter finish. Nice, mild and tasty, but not especially distinguished.

The aroma is floral hoppy, yeasty, sweet syrup, fruity, herbal, and just a tad funky like many farmhouse beers. The appearance is deep gold/orange with a huge head. The flavor is like the aroma with a slightly spicy finish. The palate is soft. Overall a nice beer.
