| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Oct 3, 2009 On tap at Frisco Grille: Pours a transparent deep bronze with a thin, stringy-lacing wispy white head. Mild aroma of fresh piny hops and lightly sweet toasty caramel malt. Starts with pretty good fullness and light malty sweetness with a crisp bittering hoppy presence and light citrusy hoppy balance before a drier bittersweet finish. Needs more assertiveness hop character, but an ok IPA. ljay6880 (162), , Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 13, 2009 12 oz bottle served in a clear pint glass. Pours a deep ruby amber with a thick, frothy tan head that leaves a complete shading on the glass where the foam previously was. Nose is malts, caramel, and hops. Taste is a pleasant mix between rugged rye characteristics and its hoppy Indiana base. A nice trial that turned out well, especially for someone who doesn’t go crazy for the In-Your-Face hop blow of a traditional IPA. jmm635 (269), Havertown, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 9, 2009 Pours a deep amber color with a miniscule, yet lasting head. I find the aroma and flavor more dominated by caramel malts, not hops. There is definitely a good amount of hops and the rye/grainy flavor is nice. In my opinion, the focus of an IPA should be more on the hops, not the malts. WeeHeavySD (3041), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA
