Commercial Description:
Massively big and delicious, QUAD is an elegant and dark ale. Rich with complexity and flavor, try savoring it after a long day or during a fine dinner. You also might enjoy it as an aperitif or as an accompaniment to a dessert, but QUAD stands alone quite well. We recommend enjoying QUAD in a brandy snifter or wineglass so you can drink in the aroma of this fine elixir.

Bottle, Mr. Goodbar Beer Club. Hazy dark orange. Nose is soapy, floral, caramel, toffee & alcohol. Flavor is raisins, alcohol, toffee, honey, yeast. Burney. Odd toasted malt finish. Seems overdone.

Bottle. 12 oz. Pours deep maroon amber with some murk. Rich, frothy off-white head. Aroma of cherries, dates, nectarines, barley, caramel and hints of chocolate and roasted malts. Firm, heavy body with a surprisingly smooth, yet slightly tangy mouthfeel. Subtle warming in the finish. No traces of alcohol and beautiful lacing throughout. Excellent quadrupel.

pours out burnt oarnge with with a finger thick head bone white head. it has a body of a doppelbock with no bubbles rising up. the aromas are very fruity. i smell grapes, plum, orange, sugar, and some malts. it is medium bodied and very fruity to the taste. it is sweet to the taste with a bitter undertone taste from the alcohol. it is fruity, with notes of grape, plum, fennel, sugar, and a lot of alcohol on the tongue. it finishes sort of dry with a sweet aftertaste that lingers for a little while. still though....it cant really compete with a trappist rochefort 10, but really nice for coming from a PA brewery.

Pours a beautiful, ruby tinted, golden brown color. Slight off-white/tan colored head forms and quickly dissipates. Lacing is somewhat thick and decently sticky. Big candi sugars hit me first, which is not a bad thing, to me. Tropical fruit notes are here. Caramel and brown sugar. Nice presence of toasted grains. Slight breadiness. Very appealing and inviting. Brown sugar covered tropical/citrus fruits. Bananas and sweet, butterey, caramel. Apples, pears, pineapple, mango, figs, raisins and more. Big presence of sweet malts. Mild alcohol kick, on the back-end. Mild characteristics of vanilla rum. This one is smooth, but no real creaminess. It should be creamier. This would be a very nice dessert brew. A natural sipper. Also, a very good winter brew, because it tastes like a tropical summer day, in a glass.

12oz bottle. copper pour with a thin off-white head and little in the way of lacing. big aroma of must, yeast, dark fruits, vanilla, clove and brown sugar. taste follows suit -- plums, raisins, caramel and vanilla. syrupy texture. covers the 12% well with a nice background warmth.

Pours hazy caramel color with thin off white head that dissipates quickly. Aromas of dark fruits, candi sugar and Belgian yeast. Dark fruit, bubblegum, clove and sugar flavors. A little heat from the alcohol. Not bad, but there are a lot of better widely available quads out there.

Appearance was bright neon orange, a bit hazy, with a tiny-bubble head and almost no lacing. Smell was apricots and caramel. Taste was malt, with strong alcohol showing through. Hints of orange peel. Mouthfeel was fair, not as full as the strength would predict. Overall, not bad, but there are too many better examples of this style to spend too much time with this one.
