Commercial Description:
Cask; Regular. Also available bottle conditioned.
A smooth, dark ruby brown ale with an aroma of roast malt, coffee and rich fruit. It has a similar, complex and spicy, rich bittersweet taste, and a long, smooth warming roast finish. A multi-award winning Porter. Great for those winter evening, or try it straight from the fridge in summer.

(bottle) Clear, mahogany colour with a small beige foamy head. Slightly roasted malty and distinctively fruity aroma of blueberries with notes of dark chocolate, marzipan and liquorice. Mildly sweet flavour, medium bodied with a calm carbonation. Soft roast-malt character with distinctive fruity notes and hints of chocolate; moderately roasty and slightly fruity finish with notes of liquorice and a well-hidden alcoholic strength. Just nice. 01.X.09

Cask at the Manchester Winter Ales festival. Pretty much black with a nice beige head. Very pleasant. The roastiness is mild so it makes it quite neckable. Good body, bit of spice, bit of dark fruit, hint of chocolate. Better porters out there but not bad at all.
