Commercial Description:
Appearing almost black at first glance, Wild Goose Porter is actually a deep ruby-red ale. Roasted malt flavors accent its velvety finish.

12 oz bottle. Poured a dark brown color with ruby red highlights, and a one finger brown head. The aroma was roasted malt and chocolate. The flavor was strong with chocolate, roasted coffee and a bitter finish. This was a much better offering than the oatmeal stout. Would drink this one again.

Pours very nice deep red color with small tan head. Nice aroma of roasted chocolate malt, but somewhat faint. Flavor is similar, good creamy roasted chocolate flavor with a nice bitterness for excellent balance. Decent beer with good flavor, but a little light on aroma and body.

Oct. 2007 - Dark pour, pinky finger head and lacing. Weak aroma of roast. Flavor was smooth and chocolatey, with some roasted coffee. Not overly strong, but smooth going down. Not bad.

Bottle 12 fl. oz. Pours a reddish black with a small tan head and a sweet dark chocolate-like aroma. The flavor is sweet, chocolate-like with burned malts and bitterness too. The finish is a tad bitter and sweet creamy. Nice beer

Pours dark brown with small tan head. Roasted malt on the nose. Taste is some roasted malt with a creamy finish. A little bit of bitterness is present also. Very enjoyable beer.

Bottle courtesy of Dorwart. Pours dark brown with a thin tan head. Smells vegetal with some chocolate and spice. Tastes of chocolate with some underlying spice, but it’s hard to get past the grassy quality this beer seems to possess.

Pours near black with a little less than a finger of tan head. Aroma is of sweet chocolate and roasted malts. Taste is nice and smooth and the roasted and chocolate malts can definitely be tasted. This is a yummy reasonably priced porter.

Bottle@Home. Chocolate and coffee aroma. Very dark ruby, light brown head, very nice lace. Light sweet, pretty malty, chocolate, coffee, bitter. Very flavorful.
