Dec 18, 2009 Yuengling Porter pours to a nice very dark reddish brown color, with only a little head that goes away quickly. Smells of roasted malts with coffee undertones. Coffee and caramel malts are the most distinct with some slight chocolatey notes. Mouthfeel is kind of heavy, and very fizzy. Slightly bitter finish but smooth. A bitter aftertaste with coffee and nutty flavors.

Dec 7, 2009 Bottle from a trade with StFun. Pours dark brown with tan head. Roasted malt aroma. Flavor is roasted malts and and some hints of coffee and chocolate with some bitterness. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Thanks Josh.

Oct 28, 2009 Tasted 10/28/09. 12oz bottle. Pours opaque with a dark brown hue. Spotty khaki head. Aromas of fudge and dark, sweet breads. Toffee and slightly earthy. Medium to full bodied with a good malt prifile, followed up quickly with a blast of effervescence. Finishes sweet with a subtle lingering tingle. Undertones of chocolate and fudge in the malt character. Definitely zesty. Offers a welcome citrus acidity that melds realy well with the dominant malts and ample carbonation. Well crafted and definitely quaffable. Solid.

Oct 23, 2009 With so many black lagers and stouts categorized with porters, it’s good to drink the real deal - there is no confusing this with either. Earthy and very roasted with a pungent finish. There are better, by far, but it’s honest porter at a quite fair price. I’d say that it’s thin enough to be enjoyed at varying temperatures. Pour it cool and taste it change - no kidding.

Oct 5, 2009 Sampled at the 8th Annual Music City Brewer’s Festival. Pours dark brown with a thick foamy tan head. Aroma is mild roast chocolate malt. Taste is mild roast, vanilla, chocolate, caramel and is pretty good. Decent body and finish.

Sep 30, 2009 Pours from the 12 fl. oz. bottle no. (smudge 051?)13310756. The pour is a dark brown to black with a quarter inch frothy beige head with decent retention. An aromatic brew with a good character of chocolate malts and butterscotch toffee. The mouthfeel is full bodied. The taste is a mild mix of cocoa, light hops, and caramel or butterscotch. It is an easy to drink Porter.
