Craft beer Athens

I'm travelling to Greece - Athens next week (vacation) and I'm wondering if you have any suggestion of any bars or bottle shops I should visist during my stay there. Also, if you have any general "good to knows" about Athens or Greece in general I would appreciate that as well. Cheers!

I'm going to Palestine next month - will be visiting Taybeh and Bir Zeit but wondered if there was anything else of note worth doing/seeking out? Will be in Old City Jerusalem, Ramallah, Nablus, Bethlehem and possibly Hebron. I've checked Places obviously, but wondered if anyone had any recent gen? Also, does anyone know of any Israeli breweries that are specifically anti-occupation, just out of interest? Cheers

Hello, As a Belgian beer connoisseur, I am thinking about organizing a Belgium beer tour for beer lovers. Before I start planning I was hoping to get some answers to these questions: - How much would you like to pay for it? (Excluding transport costs to travel to belgium) - Which breweries would you like to visit? - How long do you want to travel? - How many people would you like to travel with? - Open to other sightseeing activities? If yes, which ones? - What are your expectations from the tour? (e.g. only visit breweries, culture, history,...) If you are genuinely interested, send me a pm so we can discuss further. So, I'll be in Chisinau beginning of October for 4 days with one day trip to Tiraspol. Any useful suggestions that are not up here? Perhaps any place to yield a rare soviet country tick? Have you guys been to Tenerife in Canary Islands? Me and and my mates is planning to go there to spend the holidays. So I’ll do a quick one night in Hong Kong on my way to Taiwan. Landing on Saturday September 30, planned 14:30. Staying at an airport hotel. Leaving day after. I figure I’ll have time to head into the city and go in search for 1-3 places easily accessible via MTR or other public transportation. Anyone got experience from the area to share with a first time visitor? Looking through the places at ratebeer seem to require some knowledge about Hong Kong areas, since they seem built together. First idea is mainly go from airport to Hong Kong Station, walk to Tipping Point Brewing Co. Next if still enough time head to Wan Chai Station and walk to The Trafalgar Brewing Company. If not enough time, search for a few of the listed bars around the Tipping Point. Go back to airport before second to last MTR / Airport Express leave for the night.

Ganstaller Brau availability in Germany/ PLZN

While our upcoming beer trip in Bavaria/ Franconia/ Saxsony/ Nordrhein-Westfalen focuses on small, countryside brewpubs, we are very curious about Ganstaller beers, especially their rauchbier. We'll be at the brewery's proximity, but it's not open to the public. Any clue about bars or stores that carry their stuff is appreciated. We'll be all over - Bamberg, Wirzburg, Nuremberg, Regensburg, Dusseldorf, Essen, Koln, Leipzig and Plzn are the focal points of the trip.

Greece in October

I will be spending a week in Greece on the last week of October. I would appreciate any recommendation as to places to visit and beers to try. We will spend at least 1-2 days in Athens, then will try to go islands (not yet chosen). I might rent a car for most of the time but it would be great if you can recommend places that are easy to reach via public transport. And also I can bring a few bottles from NY, if anyone is interested.

Best European Beer Festival going solo

Hi guys!! This year (2017) I had the opportunity of going to CBC and it was an amazing experience. Now, I was wondering if this festival could be the best festival for going solo in Europe. Pros of CBC: Lots of activities and tap-takeovers all around Copenhagen. The city, Copenhagen is maybe the best for pub-crawl in Europe. The festival itself, lot of beers that are not available in Europe frequently. 4 sessions and lot of brews per session. Cons of CBC: Price of each session (plus Copenhagen is not a cheap city). Only 4 hours per session. What about other festivals like Borefts, Beavertown Extravaganzza, Moscow beer fest, Amsterdam carnivale bretta, Eurhop...Any other??? Experiences and thoughts??? :) Cheers!!

New Hampshire Must Visits

I'm visiting the southern portion of New Hampshire (between Keene and Manchester) between October 20-24. Any must try breweries that I should consider on my visit? Willing to travel to southern Vermont and Maine, but near Portsmouth - but can be convinced to go further. I know of course Smuttynose and Portsmouth Brewery, but looking to visit the up-and-coming brewers in the area.

Denver lesser known but good breweries

In Denver for a few days. So many brewpubs! Any advice on good ones besides the obviously well known ones? I've been to a few and noticed huge variation on beer quality. I like Baere and Jagged Mountain but had a few bad ones as well at other places. I'm here for a couple more days.

Heading to Rapid City next week to continue my quest to rate 100 beers in every state. Tentatively Sturgis & Deadwood on Thursday, Hot Springs, Custer & Hill City on Friday. Small fest at Hay Camp on Saturday (as far away from the Zwanze Day crowds as I can get), Rapid City on Sunday and every evening. Not sure if there are any Ratebeerians around, but message me to meet somewhere for a beer.

New Zealand - North Island

I'll be visiting for a week in May 2018 - the plan is to road trip around the island, and would like input on favorite destinations (beer and otherwise). Of course flying into Auckland, and one big question is whether the drive down to Wellington is worth the time? Rotorua, Taupo, and Tongariro are definitely on the list, but there doesn't seem to be much south of that (save Wellington). I'd love to see the city (and beer destinations), but a week isn't much time, and there are lots of other sights to see (we'd prefer to not be on the road all day, every day). On the definite list: Bay of Islands, Coromandel, Rotorua. Probably not much time in Auckland unless someone advises otherwise. Of interest are food, beer, natural sights, dive locations, and other suggestions. Cheers, Ed
