I enjoy and respect beer. Used to be (and am slowly once again becoming) a huge fan of the ESB, IPA, hop hop hops! But in the last few years, I’ve grown more into stouts, strong/old ales, barleywine. Now live in Minneapolis. Haven’t gotten around as much as I’d like, but I know I like The Four Firkins and Lyndale Ave. Liquors as far as stores, Surly and Summit (breweries) and Barley John’s Brew Pub. Recently moved from Austin, TX where there are plenty of brewpubs, microbrews and craft beer and specialty stores. It’s fun town to newshound and brewshound, lots to experiment with. Local favorites: Lovejoy’s, Uncle Billy’s Brew & Que, Live Oak Brewing Co., Independence Brewing Co., Draught House. Work in news, write for magazines (including a beer column called "Brewhouse Bulletin" for HILL COUNTRY DIRECTIONS and play music under the guise, Texabama Brackish. Beer should be good, lift the spirit and bring fun people together.
