My average rating on this site is on the high side because I usually only rated those I like, so as not to tick anyone off (On my private list I have about 50 times as many 1 ratings and 100 times as many 2 ratings as 5 ratings).
I hate the flavor often imparted by Belgian yeast strains. And try not to even try anything that’s over 65 IBU’s (level of hoppiness) unless it’s an Imperial Stout.
In July 2009 In Portland Oregon I attended the International Beer Festival, the Oregon Brewer’s Festival (Thursday & Saturday), and the Fanno Creek Nana Brewfest. Among those 3 I sampled over 60 beers!
