I prefer beers that are unconventional in some way. Though there is something to be said for tradition and sticking to style, but that by itself is not enough to make a beer memorable. I do admit in liking a lot of the extreme styles such as barleywines, double ipas and imperial stouts over the conventional styles. Not only do they have more of a kicks but they also tend to have a lot more of a complexity. Of course, that’s just my opinion so feel free to disagree.
