“We visited Brauhaus Getranke Wallbrruch, Wetzlar, Hesse, Thursday 11th August a stopover en route to Haldern Pop Festival. I think that the selection here as one reviewer has described has dropped off a little and I didn't see the anticipated many bottles of Belgian beers that the Google review (owner?) photos were showing, having said that, there was a fridge to the righthand side close to the till and an area beside this with a selection of more craft offerings. I saw Olde Hickory The Event Horizon, and Nebraska beers plus a few German craft offerings and some decent Gueze, but hey, not too much. The rest of the beers were focused heavily on Franconian beers and some local beers from the Hesse region. Prices were very good, the staff helpful and the layout straightforward, I think that it was basically an L shape with the till close to the entrance. It was mostly crated beers, especially the regular beers, however, the more expensive one-offs were singles. I took a selection of local and Franconian beers, also a local craft beer, and the Olde Hickory The Event Horizon priced at €21.99. The guy behind the till was typically struggling with these two last beers, I showed him where they were on the shelf, but he called a colleague and it was clear they were struggling to locate them on the system, these beers were not put through and I was told to take them, I was surprised and asked again and he said, it is fine you can take them, I didn't need to be told twice, but couldn't believe my good fortune.“

“Update 02/2020: The craft beer bubble seems to have popped in Wetzlar. Arrived to find only a small fraction of what once existed, and most of it marked down to clear the stock. Rapidly heading in the direction of being just another average Getränkmarkt. Dropping from 3.6 to 2.8 Original review 11/2016: Bottleshop with a good selection of the regional standards as well as German craft beer. Smaller selection of craft beer from around Europe and the USA. Fast, friendly service. Stumbled across the place accidently. On my first visit the cashier struggled to get through my big load of bottles. For my patience I was rewarded with a nice freebie. Customer service definitely mixed though with some of the staff being rather surly. Recommended if you happen to be in the region.“
