“Groot en mooi lokaal onder het nieuwe raadhuis met een klein terras. Beschikbare bieren zijn goed, heb er 1 gedronken. Verder heel uitgebreide menukaart. De moeite waard om te bezoeken.“

“(Craft) Beer bar a little bit outside the city-center. Cosy interior, a few seats at the bar. 8 beers on tap, 2 fridges full of bottles and cans. Friendly staff, guess well knowledged as well. Prices are ok, maybe a little bit more expensive. Worth a visit.“

“One of the oldest Biergarten in Leipzig. Cosy Biedermeierstube , nice Bierkeller and a large Biergarten with up to 500 places. 2 own beers on tap, 2 from local breweries. Smart stuff, food is quite ok. Love to sit outside.“

“Visited on 30th Jan 2020. Large restaurant/brewpub place in centre of town by an impressive church. I arrived relatively late but managed to get served 1 each of the beers on tap (3 in total). Service was OK and I said I'd be quick, beer quality wasn't great, prices OK. Nice enough venue. I've ticked the beers now. Wouldn't dash back“

“Visited on 30th Jan 2020. Large venue under the town hall, really impressive venue to look at, has a little shop as you walk in as well. Place was busy but found a table. Had at tasting flight of 4 beers plus another one which was nice. Service was good, prices decent. Food was excellent. Good place, great venue and a must visit.“

“Visited on 30th Jan 2020. Single roomed brewery tap less than 5 mins walk from Bayerisches Bahnhof. Brewery at one end, bench style seating with the wooden tables seen in so many places and a nice display of bottles to take away. 6 beers on tap, small pours available, place was busy but service good and friendly, prices decent. Beer quality was good as well. Definitely worth a stop if you're in town when this place is open. Really liked it.“

“Visited on 30th Jan 2020. Large, multi-roomed brewpub in the old station. Had a U-Bahn stop underneath so super easy to get to. Lovely old building, has a maze rooms but I sat right near the bar. Has Gose on draft plus 3 more standard beers. Small ones available to help manage the boost levels. Beers are decent enough, service efficient and friendly, prices reasonable. Definitely one you must stop at to try the trad Gose.“

“Visited on 30th Jan 2020. Nice, modern bottle shop in the city centre. I was staying less than 5 mins walk away, which was handy. Really smart looking displays, nice wooden shelving and beers split up by country of origin. Good mix of styles from US and Europe. Picked up a couple of local beers. staff were helpful, prices decent. Liked it“

“Very nice discovery. The interiors are amazing, nice decorated. I just sat at the bar and enjoyed the flight. Five beers on tap available, as the Gose is now in their core range. During my visit the saisonal was a pretty lame Cascade Pale Ale, but a 0,1 does not harm anyone. They sell their beers in 0,33 cl as well and I managed to take away the last bottles of Bock. Did not try the food, but would recommend a stop for their beers“

“Typical Die Bierothek selection, with in addition some small local breweries from Sachsen not available on their online shop. Friendly service. Good prices. They have two fridges as well if you want a cold beer.“

“It´s been a while since I went there. The way to it was quite easy. You walk through the old GDR or PR Poland feeling like you are beamed back in time. After it you see a big gate looking like you are going into an other dimension. Entering my waitress was a bold female. It was a bit special TBH. Service was unfriendly and I felt a bit left alone. Food was ok but not outstanding. Beers were fine, especially their Gose is a hit. The bread was too dry, rest was fine as I was hungry AF and I knew in Red Bull Arena I would get nothing similar.“

“Visited 19/6/2018. Super place. Drink in or take away bottle shop with great range of German and international beers. Has been open 3 years. Situated just south of the central area, tucked away in a side street. Limited but comfortable seating. Very knowledgeable and enthusiastic owner. Good prices, €21 for 7 quality beers. Friendly customers. Would have bought lots to take out if I wasn't flying out tonight with an already full suitcase but found room for sn extra Eisbock!“

“Two visits, once for a late night gose with Grumbo, and the next day Braumeisetr Matthias gave us a thorough and enjoyable tour. The place was built between 1842 and 1844, and renovated 1999-2002. There are multiple rooms up from and the copper jacketed brewhouse is straight ahead as you enter the restaurant. The rest of the brewhouse is one floor below, and fermentation vessels are in a separate building in the back. All are jam packed with equipment and supplies, not much room for expansion because of the historical/protected status of the buildings. Beers are very tasty, not just the gose but also the clean styles. Worth going out of your way to visit.“

“Visited 18/6/2018. This place was renamed Die Bierothek about a year ago by new owners. Impressive selection of beers divided into German, European and International sections. Maybe 300 different beers, about half being German with a number from less common German states. The 2 guys in there running the shop were very helpful. Not particularly expensive, with my 15 beers coming to €49. Would have bought loads more had I not been flying home tomorrow.“

“Visited 18/6/2018. Big place, quiet on this Monday lunchtime visit. Some seating outside, though that's currently somewhat spoiled by the building work going on close by. Pleasant service. Decent enough food. Had the flight of 4 beers, all ok but not great, their Gose was the best of the 4. Certainly worth a visit when in the City.“

“Visited 17&18/6/2018. Quiet late Sunday evening, but busy Monday lunchtime. Really nice places a few minutes walk from the centre. Situated in the old station it retains a lot of the original buildings and a lot of railway memorabilia. Comfortable interior and large tree-shaded beer garden. Good looking food available but didn't eat there, excellent service and tasty beers especially the Gose and Schwarzbier. Lucky enough to spend some time on second visit with the Braumeister, and get a brewery tour. Top man.“

“Visited 17/6/2018. Maybe many better restaurants in the city but we were lured in by the 'brewpub' element to it though far from convinced it's a true brewpub. Nice setting, acceptable-ish service, fairly good food, reasonable beers.“

“Sort of an Italian-esque restaurant on a large open square in the pedestrian zone with an attractive church and a few fountains. Inside is some faux brewing equipment that hopefully has never been used because they stored trash bins under the mash tun. Only two house beers were available, barely passable. Food was OK faux Italian. Service was brusque. Oh well.“

“Visited while Germany lost to Mexico in the World cup, so the place was jam packed with less than happy people. Interior is small but characterful. Outside is a very nice biergarten, I'm sure the TVs were added just for the Cup.We met the brewer, who oddly enough was pouring Kostritzer at one of the booths. He was so glad to see us and talk about his beers that he hugged me three times. His gose and very tasty, and his gosebock was really interesting. Great place.“

“Visited 17/6/2018. Visit coincided with Germany v Mexico in the World Cup so place was packed. It's all about the Gose here and it's a good Gose. Other options available if you so choose. Service was good, bit of queuing given how busy it was but lots of outlets to choose from so wait wasn't bad considering.“

“This place, as the name implies, in the basement of the ultramassive town hall, you can't miss it. The keller is fancy, impressive, has a long serving bar and a good whisky list, but lots and lots and lots of shared picnic style tables. However, I chose a table in the large plaza outside, under an umbrella. They have tasting flights of their four house beers, and - you heard me right - they had FOUR beers. INCLUDING their seasonal, which to my surprise was a house made gose, the tastiest of the four. I also has a schnitezel that was bigger than my chest (veal, my favorite), holy cow, and it came with potato salad (German style, also my favorite). Service was attentive and......CHEERY! I am not making all this up. Great first experience in Leipzig.“

“They don't really blow their horn as a brewpub more as a restaurant. I didn't eat here so didn't rate the food. 4 taps of their own - standard German fayre - Helles, Dunkle, Weizen and Seasonal. It was a bock when I visited in May and was easily the worst of the bunch. Nothing amazing, but if you're looking for something slightly rare it counts. Take outs available up to 5L. “

“Five of us took up the whole bar, but that worked fine. We got all the attention of the bar maids. Their Helles is quite good and the food is tasty and hearty. Their house made schnapps are excellent too. The Heildbeere and the orange unique. Thanks to Michelle and Sondra for a blast of a good time and dealing so nicely with us.“

“2016 August. The place, which is associated with resurrection of Gose during 80's. Before WWII, there used to be many of Gosenschenke scattered around Leipzig, but this one is the only surviving. You can sit either in biergarten, or inside (I prefer this option), where you can enjoy beautiful interior. While you sip Ritterguts Gose, you can try imagine V. Putin visiting this place, while he was working as an agent in Leipzig during 80's, and enjoying a glass of sour stuff (doubt it). Food is decent by german standarts, not much to be said about service - they brought me, what I asked for. Worth a visit.“

“Been there twice, both time during afternoon, when place wasn't to crowdy. The main attraction there are: a) Theirs Gose. You really want to try locally produced one, while you are in Leipzig b) Surroundings itself - restaurant and the brewery are situated in the former train station, so you get all the atmosphere which comes within this herritage. “

“Visited 15.10.17 in the early afternoon. Lovely and lively beer garden with a long queue and rather inefficient service -friendly but extremely slow and understaffed for a beautiful sunny Saturday. Beer is great and Gose is the perfect beer garden drink, so it's worth it.“

“Visited 14.10.17 in the evening. Fun place in the center of Leipzig. There's a thin line between a brewery and a beer-centered tourist attraction and the Bayerischer Bahnhof is situated right on it: Vast place with a busy train station vibe, souvenirs, English menu, friendly staff. The Gose and the Schwarzbier were really good, the others not so. Worth the stop.“

“Very nice location at the Heart of Leipzig. Beautiful Building, charming staff with the typical saxony Accent (which is also difficult to understand for a German). Only 4 beer on tap, one is the Krostitzwr Zwicken, but offers a fly of 3 Draft beer, including the Zwickel, and a Bavarian Brezn with Schmalz.. Worth a visit.“

“As the name suggests this brewery-restaurant is next to St. Thomas Church in the heart of Leipzig. Although it’s a big restaurant on a Friday night 9pm it’s full. It seems to be popular place by the locals. They have 4 beers on tap (Pils, Märzen, Bock and Schwarz). All pretty tasty. The food is Italian, we didn’t have any.“

“We visited this place for beer. It’s the only place serving Ur-Krostitzer Zwickelbier (as far as I know). They also had Braufactum IPA on tap. We didn’t eat. The building is really beautiful. The waitress didn’t speak/understand a word English but we managed with my bad German.“
