“A nice little brewpub in the heart of the wine country. Very rustic, with lots of wood. Many of their own beers on tap plus a few more to take away in the fridge. Friendly, helpful staff. Flights of their six core beers and ciders available. No reason not to visit.“

“An all in one location featuring brewery, cidery, winery and cafe. Clearly no expense has been spared with the intent to make this a popular destination for the touring Yarra Valley crowds. The purposefully designed space affords pleasant views over the orchards and vineyard, and the hills play their part in painting the backdrop. The taproom is to the left of the cafe which is open planned. The brewhouse is visible behind glass at the back of the bar. I had a tasting paddle of four beers - Helles, APA, Porter and Saison. I wasn’t a fan of the flavour profiles of the beers, really muddled stuff but then again I can’t imagine I’m their target audience either. I didn’t get a chance to try the house ciders on this visit. At least, it’s good to know there is beer and cider availability amongst the wineries.“

“A striking Victorian building in little Yarra Glen. This was our first stop in a day out around Yarra Valley. On a lovely clear winters day we opted to sit outside and catch the sun. Ordered a tasting flight of five and the waitress was happy to add the flanders oud bruin in as well, which was nice to try. The beers are classic examples but surprisingly the ESB tasted green and was the weakest of the lot. The stout was particularly good. A nice setting here, we didn’t eat but I’m sure it’s pleasant to sit down for a meal when passing through town.“

“I doubt this is still a brewpub. OK food-friendly beer, good if slightly pricey food (typical for the Yarra Valley).“

“Nice place tucked away in the Yarra Wine Region. The servers are very well versed in the beers that they serve. They have 8 taps to choose from and there is a sampler paddle if so desired. The food is above your typical brewpub offerings. The Stout and ESB they have on tap are well worth checking out. Good place to visit on a daytrip from Melbourne.“

“Located on the main road, it offers a change from all the wineries in the area. They have a good dining menu, just a bit pricey. The staff is friendly and service is good, but a bit short on knowing about the beers. They had 4 beers and a cider on tap. The beers are quite ordinary but do tend to compliment the meals. Would stop again if the beers were more adventurous.“

“A pretty building full of pleasant spaces and friendly people. Taps were all their beers and a local cider. They seemed a little under the pump and I didn’t even realise there was a bottle list. The ESB was very good and more like an ESB than previously (more caramel and dark fruit, spicy rather than tropical hops). Good coffee. The Yarra Valley has plenty of decent food but the food here was better than expected.“

“Modern bistro setup. Nice and clean but does lack soul and warmth. Still this will hit the spot with most punters so not a bad thing. Wood fired pizzas no longer, rather mod restaurant dishes in the high 20s. 6 beers on tap and a tasting platter of 5 beers for $10 (100ml pours so decent value).“

“nice little stop while in the Yarra region. Food was great, beers are good (ESB was a bit lacking), but the service was great. had a long chat with the brewer here about his beers and Victorian micro’s in general, he was happy to have a chat“

“Amazing food, and a mind-blowing stout. We really enjoyed our dinner, and my only criticism is to the celtic red ale, which had a really offensive aroma. The hef was good though, and the stout was great.“

“Awesome old bank building in the middle of town. A really civilised place for a beer or meal. Food looked really good but we only had chips (good!). The whole HH range on tap plus an international guest (Chimay White when I was there) and a Vic guest (something from Bridge Rd). Only thing I’d say is that the beers you can’t get elsewhere (dubbel and Celtic) aren’t quite up to the standard of their regular stuff so it’s kind of a let-down in terms of exciting beer. Of course, brewery fresh ESB is always going to shine - it’s worth stopping in just for that.“

“Just about the only thing I wasn’t keen on here was the beers. They aren’t bad, just deadly boring. The AIB-brewed Pilsner is probably their most interesting beer which is a fairly sad state of affairs. Bitter is served both via CO2 and handpump. Nonetheless it’s a cool place in a completely random location, the staff and locals are really lovely and I had a REALLY good pizza there. Easily reached by bus from Lilydale station too. Will become a must-see if the beers become a bit more adventurous.“

“...visited here on the way back from Strathbogie. Place was nice and cozy inside, the food was good, but took forever to get it(like an hour), and was very expensive. The beers were sub-par, tried the cider and pils. Don’t think I will be going here again.“

“This place is completely top shelf. Offers a very credible dining option in the non-winery Yarra Valley restaurant market in fact I would it just behind Giant Steps and the Healsville Hotel. Super classy fitout in a beautiful old bank chamber. 8 beers on tap inc. MAES and Bridge Road Australian Ale. All prices are very fair and they do serve sample paddles. Well picked bottle range of about 25 beers. Good wine list too. A must visit.“

“3 coldstream products on tap, the cider, a bitter and the pils, as well as two beers like Guinness or something. The premises and menu look nice enough but sadly we didn’t stay long due to my BAC being close to the allowable limit.“

“Located in the main strip of Yarra Glen, great looking restaurant with a stylish, modern interior. Staff were friendly, and were happy to chat a little about the beers, prices are a tad expensive, but they do have a tasting tray of all 6 of their beers for $7. 8 taps in all, 6 of the hargreaves hill beers, maes pilsener and a guest micro, which today was Bridge Road Aussie ale. Bottled selection in the fridge is well thought out and suggests these guys really know their stuff. The beers are mostly good, the ESB is world class... Didn’t eat but it looked good on other peoples plates. You’d be silly to drive to the yarra valley without at least having a look at this place.“

“Popped in here last weekend. They have a good variety of their own brews on tap, including a Dubbel and a Red Ale that aren’t available in bottles (yet). Also have Maes on tap and good variety of imported beauties in the fridge. Good selection of glassware, and the menu looked very good (although we didn’t eat as we were on our way to a wedding).“
