“Only opened briefly on the weekends. Tasting room located on what appears to be the owners farm, with grapes. Staff was knowledgeable and polite, the meads was decent and the cellar dog was friendly.“

“A lovely setting looking over the hills and countryside of rural Maryland. The tasting room is still currently in the front room of the house but we were told the new space should be up and running by summer. The Orchid Cellar meads are well made and very tasty with an interesting mix of flavour profiles. We tasted 6 or so and then shared a bottle of their Cyser outside on the patio to enjoy the chilly Spring day. The server was very knowledgeable and happy to chat through the meads, process and the honey ’stock market’. This was a great visit. Impressive setup that warrants a must visit for mead enthusiasts.“

“Stopped here and was incredibly impressed with the setup. The place overlooks a very scenic, hilly area of the Maryland mountains. Tasting room is in essentially the basement of a house. Lots of space, very nice bar, and very personable staff. Figured there would be more wine than mead, and was pleasantly surprised that they had 4 meads and 2 wines on their tasting. Lots of additional mead bottles too. They threw in a small sample of the higher spice mead at the end, which I ended up buying. I’m going to definitely return here in the next few months.“

“This is a nice house complete with a mead/wine tasting room downstairs. There is an outdoor area staring at nearby South Mountain that helps you forget Megapolis is nearby. The staff/owners are friendly and helpful serving their wares.“

“Beautiful location on a hillside in Maryland overlooking forests and fields. Small tasting room in basement of house, with quite a few great meads to taste. The variety and flavor of the meads is wonderful. Nice table outside on patio to drink a bottle if desired, friendly people. The wine they make was good too.“

“This place is in a beautiful rural setting, nice view of the hills from the outdoor tasting area. You can also see the concrete slab of the new tasting room. The current room is just a plain bar. Staff was very friendly and helful, offering a flight of wines and meads for seven bucks. Additional bottles available to drink on premises or take away - most are one-off batches, so too small to include in the tasting. Meads are on the sweet side, but very flavorful. A verry worthwhile stop.“

“Nice meadery/winery overlooking a scenic view of hills and greenery, friendly greeting dog and some chickens roaming the grounds. Tasting for $7 included the glass and samples of two wines and four meads. All pretty solid. Bottles of wine and mead available to go and some seating outside if you want to enjoy a bottle there.“
