“Patty and I went there after a hike at Browns ranch. It's a nice fancey place. Luckily at 4pm on a Monday not many people there. Wife had tacos and I had the french dip. $24 was a bit pricey for the small sandwich, but it was good and came with a side salad. I had a Huss NEIPA, not really a top tier Beer but this was not a Beer place, Others were the usual tourist beer.“

“Went to this place back in 2018 when we were visiting family and friends. The place was a lot of rock and cement and a little dark. Decent food and beer. we were there for about 2+ hours and a lot of people were coming and going. Looked like a fairly popular place.“

“I've stopped in several times over the last few years. They always have a decent IPA on tap. They are located right in middle of a street of shops. I like to stop in while wife is shopping. I just wish they were opened sooner during week as wife shops sooner sometimes. Small place might seat 20.“

“I was looking for a place to get a good craft beer at noon on a Thursday and many good places were not open yet. Just places with macro beer. I came upon this place where most people were drinking coffee and on laptops. They had about 8 craft beers on tap. Glad to find one I would like and not had before.“

“Stopped in heading back to our hotel room. Nice atmosphere, lots of indoor and outdoor seating. Had a flight, then tried a few full pours. All were decent, beer tender made some good picks for us. Well worth the stop.“

“Beautiful spot in a beautiful part of Scottsdale. There's a large, comfortable and beautiful patio out front. Large taplist with flights of 3 available for $6 (+$2 for some "big" beers). For the most part, the taplist was uninteresting when I visited, but they had a couple of IIPAs and a sensational BA imperial stout on, which alone made the visit worthwhile. Friendly service and just a great place to chill. One of the better breweries in Great Phoenix still.“

“Large brewpub in one of a line of many strip malls. There was a wait for a table on a Sunday afternoon. There are some outdoor tables and a large indoor space. They had an interesting tap list, although quite a few of the beers listed were already out. I was a little disappointed in some of the beers. For example the vanilla peanut donut beer - sounded very intriguing, but was underwhelming in flavor. The matcha stout was interesting. Food menu was pretty standard. Hummus plate was good, a little oily. My chili chicken salad was more than adequate- tasty and large. They have sandwiches and burgers also. Overall, got the job done, perhaps a little disappointed in some of the beers, but still a solid stop.“

“Visited on a Sunday for beers and a pretzel with my wife. Located right around the corner from Goldwater Brewing, parking is on Scottsdale drive or around the corners. The building that has the bar is quite small, though the draw here is the small patio out front, or the huge beer garden in back. Fun spot, great for groups and dogs. Beer selection was a handful of German beers and a good selection of local craft. Food menu is traditional German Beer Hall, the pretzel was quite tasty. Great service, fun hang. Locals should check it out, visitors with extended time. I only use the total score, not the component parts.“

“Visited midday on a Saturday. Typical Trader Joe layout with the beer right up front as you enter. Good selection of local craft beers, TJ house, as well as quality national craft. As with most TJ’s anything can be broken up to be purchased as a single. Worth hitting. Locals should check it out, visitors with extended time. I only use the total score, not the component parts.“

“Went for dinner with Patty, Kara and Andy. Nice outdoor seating out back in the shade. Good service. Good food. I choose Hazy Hoperator and they brought me what tasted like a regular IPA. Not Hazy!! I asked about it and she said that's it! So, besides that, all was well.“

“Visited on a Saturday afternoon shortly after they opened. They were about half full at this time. Interesting place with a the tap room pretty much right in amongst the brewing operation, with some beers pouring directly from the brite tank. That part was very cool. The actual brewing side was glassed off but you could see it all. Service was good. They offered flights of four at a time. I had a couple of those, but that didn't hit everything, just the styles I enjoy. They have free popcorn, which was very good, but since it wasn't even an appetizer, I decided not to include a rate for that. Overall, I recommend this as one of the nicer brewery experiences in the Phoenix metro. Definitely stop in.“

“Visited on a Saturday afternoon. The place is fairly small and was mostly full, but I lucked into a bar seat. Might have been full because there was a World Cup Game on with Germany playing. Either way, service level was maintained. I had a couple beers while I waited on Goldwater next door to open. Would recommend hitting both at the same time as they are both worthwhile.“

“We were meeting a local friend in Phoenix and he suggested meeting here at the McFate Brewing. What a great idea. The place was really kid friendly, the food (we had salad) tasty and the beers absolutely great. A flight of 3 beer $6. What not to love? And there is plenty of parking space next to the brewpub. Next time in Phoenix this place is definitely on our plans.“

“Stop for a pint at the brewery in Old Town Scottsdale Nice setting with counter high tables with the tanks as backdrop Ordered the hop chowda New England India Pale Ale. Beer is ok nothing wrong but also nothing amazing just ok compared to other IPAs Service was slow and person at the bar was busy talking with only one person Selection: not a lo Overall: not a good experience, not the best value. Not for beer enthusiast “

“Modern interior, with an upstairs and outside patio seating, as well as a downstairs that offers up their BA beers on Friday and Saturday evenings. They had about a dozen house beers on tap, plus a bunch more guests, all available in single sample pours. Prices are rather high at ~$3 per 5 oz. (even $4 for some) -- that is too much for house beers. Beer quality was good, with a few standouts (their NE IPA especially). Service was nonchalant, but quick. Recommended stop.“

“This taproom is a complex with a fairly spacious bar and a few tables at ground level, a whole downstairs room open on weekends, and a rooftop patio overlooking the sunset. They nailed the modern, industrial feeling. It’s not too stark and feels welcoming and open. Thankfully the weather was simply hot and not yet brutal so we got to enjoy the outdoors. Service was all around great. This was arguably the best beer we had during our brief visit to Arizona. The brewer(s) know what they’re doing. Each beer we had was top notch. A few really interesting offerings mixed in nicely with more safe territory. I feel like this is a must stop in the area, but I haven’t made it to all the breweries out this way.“

“Nice little spot with an industrial feeling, just South of the old town. There were not as many beers on as previous raters suggest during my visit last week though, maybe 10 or so. Quality was generally good. Atmosphere was great, a blend of beer hunters and tourists. Friendly service. All in all a fine neighborhood brewery you wished every neighborhood would have.“

“First stop after landing. I was here a year ago when this place was not quite open, so its cool to come back and see what its become. This is a pretty nice space, lots of space indoors and a patio with the obligatory misters. Plenty of lot parking as well. I took a seat at the bar and ran through a tasting flight that was pretty solid fare overall. Didnt try the food. Staff was helpful and friendly.“

“Visited after work on a Thursday. Located on a quiet side street of Scottsdale, and an old smaller building set back a bit from the road. Parking is mostly along the street, though there were a couple of spots in front. Outside there is a sign advertising 36 local Arizona craft beers. Interior is a few tables, and a smaller bar in the second room. There is a patio out back that can accommodate a few more people, but a small space in general. The selection is 4 house beers (brewed at SunUp) and 32 additional Arizona beers - wide variety of brewers and all of the selections are unique, special offerings. Beers are available as full Nonic pint, 10 oz half pint and 64 oz growler. Service is crazy nice and knowledgeable, clearly a true passion for Arizona craft beer. Pizza was excellent as well. I love this place, my favorite spot in Phoenix at the moment.

“Visited after dinner on a Wednesday. Smaller tasting room with 15 or so spots at the bar along with a few smaller hightops around the perimeter of the room. Free popcorn maker in the corner. 12 house beers which included 2 specials. Pours are available as 5, 10 and 16 oz. Brewing equipment behind the bar and all around you. Great service, fun happy crowd, great vibe all around. Crowlers and growlers are available to go. Nice design touches throughout, including the beautiful copper bar. I enjoyed this place, excellent beer, chill music and great vibe.

“Went on a Wednesday night. Got there less than an hour before close, but we stayed for about an hour after and the staff were really friendly about it. The flights were good and I was very impressed w/ the beer itself considering I only found out about it through ratebeer. I’m surprised this place isn’t more renowned with how good the beer was. Maybe we just got it on a good night but their good stuff was excellent (Fate-ality IPA and Mexican Hot Chocolate stout were great). Definitely recommend.“

“Expansive place set up like a modern sports bar and with an open concept. Lots of bar seating and otherwise. Tons of beers on tap, all of which are available in flights of 6 for $10 or individual samples for $2-3. Beer quality wasn’t too impressive, with some minor infections in a few of them. Service is very friendly and helpful. Fun place to kick back with a beer.“

“The food quality is good. At any given time, there are a number of good beers among the dozen house beers on tap. Compared to most other brewpubs, they do a good job of supplementing their selection with guest taps and bottles in case you’re in the mood for something different.“

“Very modern, ample parking, very bright (i deducted an ambience point for the brightness...what can I say, I like a little more of a ’cave’ feel as a rule). Pretty spacious and lots of seating. The indoor/outdoor bar was a nice touch. Several TV’s over the concrete bar. Beers were all solid, the SPA and Simcoe Sour were excellent. Pizza was good if a little undercooked.“

“This place has a glitzy Scottsdale vibe, with a touch of anarchy. We didn’t eat, but the menu looked good. The service was A+ and the beers were quite good. Definitely worth the stop. Brewery #723. (Oh, and bonus points for naming a beer "Four Peak$ Sake")“

“I chose this location because it was on my route from Prescott to Gilbert. Sleek and modern. Large place, great patio. Pretty empty at first on a Sunday morning, but it filled steadily. I was the only one drinking beer, that should have been a sign. After one of their beers I switched to the guest taps. Brunch food was so-so, seemed pre-made. Not impressed enough to visit the other locations. Friendly staff.“

“Visited early evening on a Wednesday. Located right next to the ratty strip mall that Papago is in, and this place couldn’t be more different. The design is bright, modern and designed to handle a crowd. The patio space is very pretty, though located right on Scottsdale Boulevard. The interior is concrete, with a large oval bar that is ⅔ indoors and ⅓ outdoors, nice design. Restaurant seating takes up the remainder of the space. Brewing equipment visible behind the bar. 8 beers on tap with a good range of styles. Efficient service. I had the hummus snack, which was quite tasty, along with the S.P.A., certainly a place to hit when in the area.
