“Love the big old building. Bar here with a patio. Classic rock on radio. Dim lighting inside. Food here. Souvenirs here also. Two bartenders, seem busy. 11 beers on tap. Not fond of all the service. Overall this is a nice place to stop. Cheers!“

“Cool spot, but rather weak food and beer. The pizza was perhaps the worst I have ever paid for, the crust one of those spongy frefabricated disgusting things that is all the worse when undercooked, as it was..or maybe it can't burn and that is one of its selling points. Either way, terrible pizza. Terrible soup. Wholly unimpressive salad. The beers were all sub par, perhaps they had a better brewer yester-year. Really cool layout, old building, tons of breweriania. Pizza was so bad I had to leave a review. Flight of 6 for $8.25.“

“Had a flight and all of the beers were solid. Food truck outside, fluctuates assumably. Sixpacks 10 dollars a piece to go. Seemed to be the hot spot for beer in Toledo. I would go back.“

“Worth a stop just for the quality and diversity of the beer. The location is stark industrial, with tables inside and out. Seating inside and out. Food truck, I think? Very friendly staff that knew the beer.“

“This is a small tap room in a nondescript light industrial park. Four seat bar and some tables. About a dozen of their own beers on tap, but that's it. The bears were ipa heavy when I was there. Solid well made beers but nothing too exciting. No food but food truck. Nice addition to the west side of Toledo, but not a destination.“

“A nice brewpub/restaurant in a historic building. Large space and it was pretty crowded when I visited, but there were spaces at the bar. There are TVs available. There are a decent number of taps and I thought the beer was above average. They had a special high gravity offering when I was there (a blonde stout aged on toasted marshmallow, cacao nibs, cinnamon bark, espresso beans, and vanilla beans - it was delicious!). Food options are standard pub fare. I split a HUGE soft pretzel and also had the gyro sandwich, which was good. Overall a fun stop and good beer.“

“Stopped by on my way back to Pgh. Easy to find, they now have a neon sign that says taps. Was pretty crowded the saturday night I was there but I easily found a seat at the bar. Parking wasn't too bad outside. Inside, although its a typical warehouse garage, is tastefully completed and well decorated. Service was very good and they had plenty of their own beers on tap, all well made, even a peanut butter brew! 15 Taps overall. They had an excellent beer menu posted for all to see, nice! After a while, one of the owners came over and talked to us about the business and their methodology of choosing beers to brew, good convo. Overall very good beer tasting experience. In town? Stop by and check it out. I did have a few drafts but they also had 5 oz samples for about 2-3$ each. Nice place! All the patrons were friendly and having a nice time. Although I normally don't like crowds, this place was very user friendly for me, especially after being at frankenmuth.“

“Purchased beers on 6-10-2017 for the first time here and I recommend this bottle shop and I would shop for beer here again even though a number of the beers are pricey. They have beers that are not available in my hometown. This was well worth the trip here. Vast range of beers and beers that I had not heard of or rated.“

“New tap room on the south side of Toledo. At this time there is really no outside sign, but Google maps will get you there. They have twelve of their own beers on tap. There is a wide range of styles and the ones I’ve had were solid. It’s another tap room in the growing number of Ohio tap rooms.“

“Another solid bottleshop in Toledo. A stripmall storefront and an alleyway of isles inside. They’ve got good stuff. I found a 3floyds berliner amongst others. Normal prices. Funny place - beer is not orginized all over the place. Generally good though.“

“The brewpub/restaurant has a lot character. It is set in the second floor an old 19th Century hotel that also houses several other businesses, including a steakhouse, pastery shop, pub, restaurant and brewery. Each of these are very distinctive. It also contains a wonderful collection of beer memorabilia in the Toledo Brewing Hall of Fame & Museum. The glassed-in copper colored mash tun and kettle are the defining features of the pub. The Tap Room (bar) on the main floor (second floor) also has a mixed old world new world character with brick walls and new wood tables and chairs both raised and regular height.. The wood bar is located on the far wall with a large selection of spirits and booze in front of a large mirrored wall. They serve only Maumee Bay beers with 11 taps flowing, some regular, others seasonal. Most of the beers are very good. For food, the specialty of the house is pizza, baked in a wood fired oven. The menu is pretty full featured and diverse, since it is adjoined by at least 2 resturants. I have sampled many items from the menu and found the food to be good but not great. The prices are very reasonable and I highly recommend this place for a good drinking and dining experience. “

“Pretty nice store with a good range of beers in the back of the store. Pretty comparable to Marino’s to the west, though the bottles here are less dusty (could indicate freshness or could just be they dust them). No huge walk-in fridge here, though. Doesn’t seem to be much of a consistent organization scheme. Staff was friendly, but the guy who checked me out forgot to give me back my credit card. (Of course, I also failed to realize I hadn’t gotten back my credit card.) Had to head back to the store to pick it up. In the end, I’d certainly stop back here again.“

“In a strip mall in south Toledo. Nothing to look at from the outside - in fact, windows are covered and you can’t see in. The inside is a pretty typical setup - two sides to the bar, booths, a pool table. Taps were a mix of macros and craft, but with 30+ there were some good ones. I had Fat Heads Trail Head and Maumee Bay Amarillo Brillo. There were a couple other Fat Heads, Two Dark horse and other local crafts. The place itself is very much a local dive vibe, but is nice enough. Bartender was attentive and seemed to know his beers a bit. I only ordered an appetizer - chicken chunks with hot sauce - and they were quite good. Can’t speak to the food in general though. Overall, it’s one of the best places I’ve found to grab a good beer while visiting family in Toledo.“

“Stopped in for dinner and beers on 9/7/13. Not a lot of people dining, so I’m hoping we just beat the dinner rush. Located in the historic Oliver house, the brewpub is on the top floor (but make sure you take a second to check out the display of vintage bottles and beer glasses by the downstairs entrance). Beers were average to above; sampler available of their regular lineup. The french dip sandwich and cowgirl burger were pretty tasty. I would definitely consider making this a stop on the way to/from Michigan from now on.“

“Oh the Attic, such an interesting and eclectic group of individuals. This is by far, one of the best, if not the best beer bars in Toledo. Excellent selection of beer both on tap and by the bottle. Food available by either typical greasy pub food, or excellent Greek food from the restaurant downstairs. It’s brick walls, with an ambiance that you simply have to experience. Excellent place for both food and beer.“

“A great place to go either alone after work for a pint, or with as many friends as you can bring. I gave it 13/15 for selection because you have the ability to order food from anywhere in the Oliver House (Rockwell’s, Mutz, Maumee Bay, or the Cafe) while dinning in any of the mentioned places.“

“This place is worth the trip just for the beer memorabilia and the historical nature of the building. They have about 10 of their own beers on tap, in a wide variety of styles that in general are all solid examples. Full menu and a full bar. Very neat place that I would spend more time in if it were closer.“

“Came here en route to Michigan for RBSG. Went for lunch on a Wednesday. Turns out that Maumee is really a couple places all together. We could not get upstairs to the brewpub proper (it doesn’t open until 3, in spite of the 11am listed here), which is really just a big bar area I think, since the brewing facilities are on the ground floor with The Oliver House (which does open at 11am), which is where we had lunch. I wasn’t even sure they were open for business when we walked in to the open slightly modern lunch venue, as there was one other couple sitting in there, and I thought they could have just been having a business meeting there. Didn’t see a bartender behind their bar, but the one server working the lunch shift soon popped out and we were set for a meal at a nice polished metal table. I went with the panzanella salad, which while I felt the croutons were a bit on the salty side, offered a huge portion of tasty food for an excellent price. My wife opted for the penne pesto salad which had a great flavor - the pesto was excellent. The downside however was the penne was not cooked through. It was still crunchy in the middle and fairly inedible. We sent it back. Ten to fifteen minutes later it comes back out, and again is still not cooked through. At this point though we’d finished up my salad and the beers, so managed to do some damage and suffer through the undercooked penne anyhow since we were not about to wait another 15 minutes and possibly have it undercooked again. Fortunately the server took that off our bill. Prices were really good, but I was definitely soured by the inedible pasta. Basic culinary skill there that was failed twice. The beers ranged from the classic boring brewpub blond, to a really good double IPA (amarillo brillo). Aside from the bad pasta, we quite liked the place.“

“Great atmosphere, very comfortable. The wooden bar is very tavernesque and the bartenders are down to earth and nice. the room behind the bar reminds me of a cabin with flat screen tvs. comfortable couches, lounge chairs, coffee tables and board games. Another room near the entrance contains a few pool tables and the balcony has ample sitting space with a projector that plays tv on the massive side of the building opposite the bar. The food is good (and served late) and beer is used in multiple condiments. The beers rotate often featuring maumee bay and goose island, but also imports and other craft beers. The only bad thing about this bar is the lack of bottles. They get new featured bombers in every month which is cool, but there are normally only about three to choose from. The other bottles they have are nothing special. Besides this, the Attic on Adams is a great place to relax and enjoy a beer whether it’s a crowded saturday or a quiet weeknight.“

“pretty nice place, good beers and great food. the atmosphere is ok in the pub, but it wasn’t very lively when i was there. One nice thing though was the jukebox which is only a quarter a track, so i could sit and enjoy my beers while listening to a soundtrack of my choosing for only a couple bucks. Service was fine. I would recommend Maumee bay’s imperial beers, they are all very good, while some of the year rounds are lacking. Still, if you’re in toledo this is one of the best places for food and beer.“

“The building itself is a really cool historic building in downtown Toledo. Brewpub is upstairs and as you walk up the stairs they had all types of older bottles, glassware, and brewing memorabilia along the walls. Place was pretty much empty on a Wednesday night. Had the sampler and Amarillo Brillo which was the best beer of the night. Had the black and blue burger which was awesome. Had a sampler, burger, and a pint of Amarillo Brillo for $16 bucks before tip. Pretty cool place overall. Will make sure I stop back in before I leave town.“

“Visited Jan 2010 on a cold Friday night. Place was virtually deserted, but we still had to wait several minutes to be waited on. That trend continued all night as our waitress carried on conversations with the table next door and then would walk away without looking at us. Together we tried 5 of the beers -- 2 of them were better than average -- the Amarillo Brillo was downright excellent. They have a small but cool collection of Toledo-themed breweriana, but over the bar is a lineup of Bud-Coors-Miller neons, which I really think set the tone. (Brewery #489)“

“Located in the great old Oliver building in Toledo, this microbrewery is a must-visit location for hopheads visiting or driving past Toledo. Follow your GPS carefully. Had the sampler and cask IPA. I really liked their Amarillo Brillo, a double IPA that had lots of nose and flavor but wasn’t overpowering on the alcohol side. Bar served excellent comfort food specials (think large spare ribs and garlic mashed potatoes) at super prices. It’s pretty cool that the other restaurants in the building offer beers from Maumee on their menu. So if you want a more upscale or different dining experience and great beer, just walk next door. The collection of beer memorabilia is outstanding, with posters, bottles, etc., adding a history component to the culinary treat. For the quality of the place and the beer, the only downside is that there weren’t enough people here on a Tuesday night to share the experience.“

“Joseph plaza’s has recently undergone renovations, so it is much improved. I loved the set up, pretty easy to naviagate. Ask for Matt for more help--he’s a gem. Selection was worthy of the travel time, but call ahead and they will tell you when things are delivered. We just missed the alesmith truck! Have your ratebeer lists handy and beers will fall into your cart! prices were standard as well. If you get the mapquest directions, theading norht for I75, there are two 475 exits, you need the 2nd--most northern one.“

“(Visited 10/2006): Maumee Bay Brewing Co is located on Broadway right off the bridge. There is limited parking in a small lot and on the street out front, plus another gravel lot across the street. The building is a nice brick structure and the entrance is down a flight of steps. Inside is one of the most impressive breweriana collections I have seen, with much of it devoted to the history of Maumee Bay. The bar is upstairs with many seats that offer great views of the bay. The lower floor is all restaurant seating. Maumee Bay offers 7 beers on tap, from staples like Buckeye Beer, to a Dry Stout and all the typical offerings in between. They also feature a cask beer regularly along with a seasonal or two. The beers are also available in a sampler. Service here was just fine on a slow early Monday afternoon. Our server doubled as the bartender and still had plenty of time to explain the beers and make food recommendations. Pizza was what was recommended, and that was what we had. The brick oven BBQ chicken/carmelized onion pizza I had was stellar, and complemented the beer very well. Being the only brewpub in Toledo alone makes this place a must-visit. While the beers are average for the most part, adding the great atmosphere, historic perspective and good food makes this place worth seeking out for any beer lover in the Northwestern part of the state.“

“Only existing microbrewery that I am aware of in the Toledo area. The food is great, but not overly expensive. Wood fired pizzas are big specialty. They have resurrected the recipe for Buckeye Beer and they have a sampler tray of their brews. The beer collections and displays were moved from the bar area to be spread around the restaurant last time I was there. They offer bottles and growlers of their brews if you want to take some home. The building used to be the Commodore Perry hotel and was later turned into a warehouse. Some of the hotel rooms were turned into apartments, and the rumors are that one of them is haunted. Nice restaurant with good food and good ambiance. This is one of my favorites in town!“

“Store is located in a crummy little strip mall. Very nice selection but singles were limited to mostly bombers and 750s. Whose complaining? Not me. They have Alesmith Speedway Stout, Wee Heavy, Grand Cru, Old Numbskull and Horny Devil. I was in heaven right there in Toledo Ohio. Extra points for the Overall score for selling Alesmith.“

“I stopped by this place on my way to points east. For those of you on the road and interested in stopping in, I found this place to be a very easy detour from the Ohio Turnpike (I80/I90). It took me no more than 10 minutes from the highway. I’d never been to Toledo before. The city wasn’t too much to look at, but the building that the brewery was in was pretty cool looking. The hostess let me into the bar (and the bartendress served me) 10 minutes before they opened which was nice of them. She seemed busy and not very chatty, but was quite pleasant. The atmosphere of the place is very cool; it is an upscale restaurant, but you have to walk by the aging tanks to get the bar upstairs and the walls are strewn with all kinds of beer memorabilia...pretty cool. I only had one beer, the cask conditioned IPA, which was quite good. I sampled the root beer (also made on site), which was also quite good. I wish I had more time to spend here, but unfortunately I had a timetable to keep! Perhaps I’ll get to it again on the way home.“

“One of two place SE MI ratebeerians need to make a trip to every now and then. A nice selection of brewers you will not find in MI: Three Floyds, Alesmith, Stone, Rodenbach, and many others. Great singles selection. Andersons is down the road, so one trip hits both places and there’s enough of a different selection that a trip to both places is worth your while. Staff doesn’t appear to be the most knowledgable (at least the ones I’ve dealt with), but helfpul enough and will lead you in the right direction if you know what you’re looking for.“

“In a strip mall across the street for Westfield Shopping Center (Franklin Park Mall). A pretty good selection of imports and microbrews in the very back. A good selection of 6-packs, but not many single 12 oz bottles. The usual 22 oz and 750 mL singles (AleSmith, Stone, Rogue, imports, etc.). This is also a state liquor store with cigars, wine, and munchies as well. Beer prices are the usual going price as everybody else in Ohio.“
