“Visited on a Saturday Afternoon. Small parking lot behind the building. This place is actually pretty big. Inside they have a larger bar that could seat about 15-20 and lots of tables for additional seating. On my visit they had 7 of their own beers on tap. Flights available, as well as cans of most of them. You could buy them as single cans, or as 4 packs. I believe that for now, they only sell them on site. Not 100% on that. The beers were all very good. Very friendly service. For food they offer pretzel sticks. No other food offered. Definitely a place you want to check out if in Zanesville, or just passing through on I-70.“

“One of the most disappointing brewpub trips I have taken. All of the beers were quite a bit below par - several actually were terrible. Hell they were even selling an obviously infected beer without warning the customers. The waitstaff was inattentive, forgetful and slow. Prices would have been ok if the beer were not so horrible. Did not bother with food. Ambiance was ok. Definitely not going back to this one again!“

“An old 1 1/2 story brick factory building with plenty of seating. There are now 10 taps carrying Weasel Boy brews, with a flight of ten for ten bucks. The crew is friendly and quick to serve, and the beers are all serviceable. Worth a stop if you are in the area.“

“An awesome brewpub off I-70 in Zanesville, Ohio. Unfortunately this place is never open when I’m passing by (usually Sunday), otherwise I’d have visited it sooner. Even on a snowy Friday night it was still plenty full of customers. They definitely have an interesting beer list- year rounds include an IPA, wheat, brown, blonde, stout, etc. Interesting seasonals include an imperial black ale, smoked ale, imperial stout, bourbon barrel aged imperial stout, holiday ale (a super tasty chocolatey, creamy, vanilla ale). Overall there’s plenty of beers to choose from and most of them are quite good. The food menu mainly consists of pizza and some salads. The white pizza was quite awesome. It is certainly a top notch brewpub and worth a visit.“

“Stopped in on a Friday afternoon around 3pm. Parking was sufficient in front of the building. Walked in and found myself in a rather large liquor/wine/beer store that also serves as a deli. They had growlers on display, but didn’t really see where they had taps or anything indicating what they might have on tap. The beer selection took up two aisles plus a whole wall of refrigerated beer. Their singles selection was a little sparse and some of the beer had been setting there for awhile, but there were also some beers there that I wouldn’t necessarily have expected to find. I was able to pick up some cool beers that don’t make it to my neck of the woods at pretty good prices. If I’m ever in Zanesville again, I’ll definitely be back.“

“Stopped in for dinner around 4 pm on a Friday. Parking is across the street from the building. At first, we were the only people in the building aside from the staff. I ordered the sampler paddle and my wife and I split a pizza that turned out to be wonderful. The beer was good, the pizza was very good, and the service was as good as could be expected. I would come back.“

“I had been on vacation in Illinois and stopped in Zanesville before heading the last leg of the trip back to Washington DC. It was a dark and rainy night, but we decided to go check out the place. Driving from the downtown area, we crossed a bridge, down a curvy road with obligatory "watch for falling rocks" signs, and made it there - the trip only took a few minutes.

We got there and found that there were some traveling bands performing in the main bar taproom area - to the left was a sit-down area that was closed for the evening. We got a table near the bar - looks like a nice relaxing place to go. After the first (or at least first one we heard) act finished, many of the people filed out. Owner was sitting at the bar. We had prompt service, tried a few of the brews on tap. Enjoyed them quite a lot. Should have asked for a sampler, but we got a pint each, and I tried a few of the beers before getting my growler filled. Pints were 3.75 or so, and grower fill was about 14 since they let me get their sour (regular fills are something like 12).

Only serious complaint was not due to the place, but the music. It was loud - I could have done without hearing the music from people aspiring to be the next Plain White T’s.“

“Liquor, beer, wine. Mike, the owner, pretty much has it all. If you want something just ask and he will try to get it. I know he has done it for me. Takes cash, check credit cards. Deli looks nice, but I don’t go there for the food. Check it out. Best in Zanesville, Ohio“

“I’ve been trying to get here for ever. A great little place in the heart of Zanesville. A good tap selection that allows you to do a flight sampler. They also have growlers to go. Service was excellent, we did go when they 1st opened so there wasn’t many peeps there. Go out to the patio and see the huge hop plants growing. If your traveling thru this are it is a must stop. It is not far off the beaten path.“

“I stopped by during one of my all to frequent trips across the great states of Pennsylvania and Ohio. It’s close to I-70 so is a perfect spot to get out and stretch the legs for a bit. Warehouse feel with the brewing bit nearly touchable from the drinking bit. Views out the large windows are of the flowing river, which is quite relaxing. The barkeep was very friendly and eager to give me a good reccomendation for my growler fill. I had forgotten to bring one of my growlers with me on that trip so I picked one up there- just $17 for the beer and growler, not too bad. I only had their IPA but it was very tasty. I’ll be stopping in again on my next trip down I-70; hopefully for a bit longer, too.“

“Finally stopped in here after several years of simply getting their beers on tap elsewhere or at local brew fest. Absolutely fantastic architecture. Brewery is located right on the Muskingum River in an old warehouse. Hops growing outside along the patio against the river gave a fantastic backdrop. One tap tender on duty for this Saturday afternoon. He was knowledgeable and friendly. We did the sampler. All beers were good. I personally loved the Stoat Stout and the Mango Wheat. Roamed around freely snapping many pictures. Very cool place would be fun in the evenings if I lived closer!“

“Stopped by this place with my father-in-law in the midst of a camping excursion to Zanesville this past weekend. As you walk in the doors, the taproom is off to the right. When we got there, they were cleaning out the brewing equipment and had that area roped off. There are a few tables before getting into the bar area, which also includes some nice cushioned seats and sofa-like seating. Cool beer signs all over the walls and a very nice stain-glass logo above the bar. The bar was crowded, though we got prompt service. There were nine beers on draft. Refreshingly, the vast majority of them were below 6% ABV. Perfect for the summer, and perfect for a round of tasting glasses. Service was excellent. The bartender was quite friendly and those who I assume were the owners were quite friendly, asking us how everything was and then grabbing our pint glass when it was time to go. Food was just pretzels, but I wasn’t complaining. Pricing was quite reasonable. We got a pint glass, 9-beer sampler, new growler to go, and a pint of the Rye Pale for about $30. I’ll definitely visit again if I’m ever around Zanesville.“

“Back off on a side road from the famous ’Y’ bridge. Its right next to the river. From the outside it looks like an old warehouse and gives no hint of what you’ll find inside. Once in, its clean, artful and well oragnized with two big rooms. One room is a pretty large area for bands and gatherings and such and the other room is where the bar, tanks and general eating and drinking goes on. The bartender was very frienly and helpful and the day we were there they had eight beers on tap. Although they had only pizza from their own oven, evedently it is very common to get food delivered from a well known fine local eating establishment called Muddy Misers right next door to eat in! We had ribs and fish and it was some of the best most affordable ffod we ate in months! I got a sampler of 8 beers for only $7.50 and all were pretty good and on style. Overall good beer drinken experience and will go back. Oh yea, they do have a cool area where you can sit back on some easy chair and couches if you just want to hang out and drink beers like you are in a living room with your friends, pretty cool.“

“Found this place quite unique amoung beer stores I’ve previously visited. Decent selection of singles; even though I have rated over 2000 beers, I was still able to find many beers that I hadn’t rated yet. Prices were very reasonable compared to the prices I pay at my local Pennsylvania stores, many even much less! Many sixpack also. Yea, the shelve for the single was not extremely large, but there was a nice selection of oddball stuff. Some of the stock did seem to have some dust on it but that didn’t stop me. Of course there was lots of wine here too considering the name but as a brewer I was please to see lots of brewing supplies in there! They also had a nice deli where you could get lunchmeat and cheeses sliced to order. Lots of snacky things and pop too. Friendly help and a good overall experience. They even had hot baked beans on sale the day I was ther and they smelled dee-lish.“

“This is what microbreweries are all about. A local homebrewing husband and wife team living the dream by opening up their own brewery. Its all good because they are doing it for the right reasons, because they are passionate about beer and brewing, its what all chain brewpubs lack. And they make good beer and are usually around to talk about it.“

“Not a bad little shop, and certainly more than I expected from this little town. Winerak does have a certain distortion to wine, but also had a pretty good selection of craft beer. The selection was better than what I’d seen at most Columbus-area liquor stores, and included a nice selection of Alesmith, which I’ve seen in the Cinc-y area, but not in Columbus for some reason. I picked up an Alesmith, a Lindeman’s Faro (the last beer-style I haven’t tried!) and a few odds and ends. This store had a lot of different things but also had some issues with turn - there was A LOT of old beer here, so caveat emptor on that issue. One of my odds/ends was a Barrel House beer which was wretched - and I assume at least part of the issue was age and handling. Still, this store was easily accessed from the I70 and would be a decent stop for those traveling across the state.“

“I enjoyed the Bitter Sable at the Mini-Real Ale Fest (MRAF) at Barley’s in early-May, and paid the brewery a visit with Jabier. Zanesville is not the most likely locale to find a craft brewer, but Weasel Boy has a great location - on a bluff above the river. When we arrived on a Saturday afternoon, the owners were present along with a few locals. It was great to sit on their patio overlooking the river and enjoy a sampler of all the beers they had on draft (which was reasonably priced). This place is not big - you could easily drive past it - and the interior is tasting room and working brewery in one space, but it was a bright happy space. I was a little disappointed in the selection of beers offered during my visit in that there were no "big" styles on tap, but that fact caused me to try styles that are usually 2nd or 3rd choices for me. However, they were all pretty good, and I can’t call that much of a criticism. There was no food evident during our visit, although the website mentioned flatbreads…there was a restaurant next-door though, and it seemed like the establishment was cool with bringing in outside food. This would be a great place to kill a summer afternoon.“

“I had been by this place many, many times but never stopped in because I assumed it was a wine store, not a beer store. Finally dropped in one day and as it turns out they have a nice selection of beer also. Many regionals (Great Lakes, Thirsty Dog, Bluegrass just to name a few) and imports as well. They had a few I’d never heard of as well. In keeping with the theme of the store, only 25% of their selection is macro, 75% everything else. Unfortunately, they don’t sell 12oz. singles. However, larger bottles can be purchased by the bottle. Also, they don’t take any form of payment except cash and local checks. On the whole, though, this is the best place to buy beer in Zanesville.“

“what a find! stopped in on a saturday night -- live entertainment brought enough people and the appropriate ambiance to echo an actual party -- and a good one at that! spent 20 minutes discussion the beers available there and beer in general with jay. it is rare to have a totally enjoyable discussion about beer with anyone that is devoid of condescension -- much less a brewmaster in his own domain! tried three different brews, all enjoyable. great service all around, including jay’s wife amongst two others behind the bar. this is a must see in ohio!“

“Industrial Ambiance with a factory on the river bank, so great local. It’s all about the beer, but the view is nice. Really friendly, just wish I could have enjoyed more but as it is a waystop off I -70, I had two small beers. Only open in late afternoon, and the locals don’t know ir exists, but the two beers I had were great. Restaurant next door carries their beers on tap and though small has a great patio by the river and was friendly. Stopped again and had a great version of Oktoberfest“

“A great place to hang out and have a fresh beer in Zanesville. I have been to brewpubs all over the States, and Weasel Boy’s is definitely one of my favorites. It’s not too big, yet not too small. There is lots of beer memorabillia on display, a couple couches, a patio, and of course a bar. The exposed brick walls give this place a great feeling, and the riverfront view is pretty neat. Every time I have been in there they also had a guest tap if you felt like trying something other than a Weasel Boy original.“
