“Driving here looks too much like the start of an NCIS episode. That said, big and bright on the inside with some decent beers on tap. The best was the oatmeal stout.“

“Well done on the inside. Tons of space with some solid beers on tap. Good place to stop by for a pint or 3.“

“Located in the old Prism location. They opened it up .. bigger bar and brighter. I was not impressed with the beers .. boring and standard styles all done poorly (found them all thin and watery). No real seasonals or any beers that would make me want to come back. With Ten7 5 min away (and they are average), they better step it up soon. How sad is it that I actually miss Prism ...“

“Looks small outside ... was surprised how big and nice it was inside. Actually not that bad ... glad I stopped by. Much better than MaCallister right up the road. Average to above average beers (couple of NE IPAs and an IIPA on, so I'm happy).“

“Straight forward Iron Hill location so you know what you’re getting. A couple of new seasonals had been tapped so that was a plus. The bartender was fine, smiley and chatty. Typical pub fare can be found on the food menu.“

“Smaller and a little older and scruffier than the other Iron Hills I’ve visited. Service was very friendly. Beer list was OK with a hefty amount of seasonals. Snacks were fine.“

“Ambiance - it’s in a mall complex, and I am not a fan of those sort of locations. Service - the staff was helpful Selection - well, it’s all Iron Hill, so don’t look for something different. Really that’s why you ought to be there anyway. Food - is pretty good, not exceptional Value - a little over priced, but only for the bottles. Otherwise it’s ok.“

“I have to admit this was not my favorite iron hill experience. The food was good but they forgot one my dipping sauce for my fries and my burger was about gone and the fries were cold by the time they got it to me. service was good but a bit dry and impersonal and the bar was somewhat small and overcrowded. the peanut butter porter was outstanding though. this will not keep me from going to other iron hill locations but I am unlikely to travel to the North Wales location again.“

“The food is on par with all other IH locations. Beer is pretty good, selection on seasonals is smaller than all other Iron Hill locations.“

“Been to 2 IH restaurants and so far both follow the same mold. Have a good number of fresh beer on tap, good selection but being a brew-pub it is limited. They do rotate around which is good. Food is very good and a good reason to stop by as well. Nice decor and staff has always been good. Because it’s a larger space, I give it ’average’ for ambiance. Not my favorite type of beer place but a good brew pub for sure.“

“This is the second Iron Hill I’ve eaten at, once again, amazing. The food is incredible and the dishes are presented very well. The menu is well rounded from hot wings to Lamb Meatballs there is enough variety for anyone to enjoy. Which goes the same for there home brewed beer. The standard Iron hill beers are excellent and anytime you go there is a wide array of seasonal brews, with everything from hand pump taps to nitro-taps. Iron hill is the best brew-pub i have ever ate at“

“Went the night they tapped the "Doctoberfest" beer, which was excellent. The brewmaster is a great guy. He was making the rounds stopping and chatting with folks all night. Nice beer selection with plenty of variety. Food was so-so. Ordered sweet potato fries and they were a little undercooked but I washed it down with some good beer.“

“I’ve been a mug club member here for 5 years, and have been a regular customer for longer. There is absolutely no match for fresh beer brewed on premises! Iron Hill also attracts a really positive, nice crowd of people, I’ve never had a negative interaction there ever.“

“There’s definitely an iron hill template with the waxed abd polished wood and the angular brushed metal. I love the square bar and the fact you can see the brewery from the bar. Iron Hill seems to be fairly autonomous in terms of what they make. I thought the Belgian Pale Ale wad good. The chocolate cherry stout was great and the ramrod is one of the best beers I’ve ever had. Of course beer of this quality does not come cheap. I also thought my pizza was very solid although next time I’ll go with the barley crust. I’ll definitely be back.“

“Atmosphere is kinda snobby. Service was pretty good. Bartender was friendly enough and attentive on a crowded Friday night. Selection is decent. Seasonals are pretty good, but the regulars are as boring as they are mediocre. Draft prices are a little above average I think, but the bottle prices are exorbitant. Food is fairly good, nothing out of this world. Not really one of my favorite spots. I’ll go there if I have to, but there are so many other places around with better atmospheres and selections. As far as Iron Hills go this is by far the worst one I’ve been to.“

“This is a nice brewpub. Interior is nicely done, square bar, plenty of surrounding tables. Brew kettles and fermentation tanks behind glass. House beers are of a wide range, and are fairly mild. They offer a beer sampler of their house beers. There is also a bourbon barrel aged listing of beer available. Food was good, not great. They also have kids food selections. The Ironbound Ale was a good sessionable beer for dinner.“

“I like this place despite the strip mall location. Food is good and reasonable. Service tends to be quick and more than adequate. Beer prices are comparable to other microbrews.“

“Parking friendly place located in part of some kind of commercial mall. The place very big and probably sits around 100. Divided in a few sections it doesn’t feel so big. A large bar in the middle with about 30 seats around. Lots of tables. Depending on where you sit you can have a restaurant or a pub atmosphere. Like many large establishments the place has this overall too-clean franchise-like atmosphere, I prefer smaller pubs with a warmer feeling. When I was there the tap list was impressive with about 12 house-beers on tap and very few bland ones. Friendly waiter that offered me free samples of each beer I was interested in so I could make a good selection for the 2–3 pints to order. I didn’t eat there but saw many plates go by and they looked like above average greasy pub fare. I would recommend eating there. They sell 750ml bottles but they are pricey ($20 each). A few of these bottles are really worth it. I left with 12 bottles total of the 9 beers they had available in bottles ($240… ouch!). All in all you cannot be in that neighbourhood without stopping by for a few hours.“

“A great place if you don’t mind pricey food. The portions were disappointingly small for what we paid (pizza), but was delicious none the less. I didn’t try a beer I didn’t like there. The restaurant/bar areas are spacious and well-laid out, and they get good crowds for the food and the beer.“

“I visited this place twice during a weekend trip to Philly for a wedding. It was directly across Bethlehem Pike from our hotel, and accommodated our 7 person family group extremely well. The restaurant itself features a big open bar area, with three different dining areas on either side. Very new, with nice design touches. Overall a very comfortable place. The food was good, we tried a wide variety of the menu and everything was nicely prepared. The beers are tasty, with a large number of rotating specials - I didn’t try the regular lineup. Service was always prompt and attentive.

82 = ★★★½ (Solid place, near the top of the list for locals and visitors)

I only use the total score, not the component parts.“

“My second favorite of the IH brewpubs (Newark, Wilmington, West Chester are the others I’ve been to). Service was super friendly, the bartender served us up some free pints after we set aside 4x$25 bottles of BA RIS. Head brewer also came out to talk to us. Food was good (like the other places), nice selection, solid quality.“

“Stopped by this place when I was in the area. The layout was great and it had plenty of room for everyone. Tried the sampler and was a bit disappointed with the selection. Nothing too extravagant and all medium-bodied and rather watered down taste to most of the brews. Light Lager, Raspberry Wheat and Red were all very undesirable. The flagship Pale Ale was probably the best they had. Porter was decent but had some metallic notes that I don’t like to see in a porter. They had a Belgian IPA and a Dubbel. The IPA had nice candied sugar taste with an odd Banana-like pehol in the aroma...still solid. The Dubbel was just plain bad, I would not suggest it. Nachos were great. I opted for a mini, two-course beer dinner. Ceaser Salad with the Light Lager (it tasted much fuller this time around, much better. Maybe it was a new keg or a great pairing!). The second course was a seafood stew which was quite good, paired with their Pale Ale, not a bad pairing but at times I thought the pale ale was a bit overwhelming with the seafood. If I stumbled on this again I would go but I’m dying to return. The waiter made an attempt at providing explanations of the servings but he wasn’t the most knowledgable or attentive.“

“I’ve been to the Iron Hill in North Wales on several occasions. Larry Horwitz does an outstanding job with training the staff, not to mention brewing great beer! The bar area is laid-out in a horseshoe fashion with plenty of seating even when moderately busy. The food is very good, and the service was even better.“

“Visited on the way back from Belgium Comes to Cooperstown 2007. Called ahead and found out they had some good seasonal and special brews, so stopped in for dinner. Large restaurant in a sort of strip mall area, inside is designed with dark stained wood and a lot of glass, a lot of open space, seems like a nice place to eat dinner, intimate enough but also large enough. Beer selection was decent, a lot of seasonals, but not a lot of really special brews, such as the Bier de Garde, wit, hefeweizen, etc. Vintage bottle list was fantastic but expensive, but that’s how it goes. Another time and I might have bought something off the vintage list. Food was ok, but I’m pretty sure I ordered something I shouldn’t have. Green onions, shrimp, bacon and gorgonzola on a pizza sounded really good, but ended up tasting like a baked potato or an omelet. Server was not so good, forgeting orders, bringing us the wrong sized glasses, acting like a "soft douche" - reminded me of the squirrely waiter from Office Space. Overall it’s a nice place and I can see myself visiting again if I’m in the area.“

“A decent place to get some pretty good food and grab some brews. The beers are good, especially the RIS. Nice, but don’t make a trek just to go here. If you’re in the area, it’s certainly worth a stop.“

“First time to this location, sat at the bar, not to packed on a Wednesday afternoon. Lots of seating, they had a nice selection of tapped brews, as well as a cask, and a nitro. There is no more smoking inside as of the 1st of january. I had wings and a brewski burger with fries, the food was really good, some of the beers they had here i had at the West Chester location. Overall this place was impressive, the service was excellent, my glass never sat longer than 5 seconds empty. Worth a visit.“

“Walked in to find a seat at the bar on a Sat afternoon in the dead of winter + everyone, particularly the women, had glasses of wine in front of them! Learn to pair beer + food! I ordered a cask beer called AnvilAle that was mediocre at best. At least it was served in a decent pint glass(as in U.K.). I’ve been here before and the beer + food was good. I just wanted a pint and that was not what the atmosphere lent itself to. One + done. (great bartender, only had so much he could do)“

“Iron Hill is certainly turning into a ’chain’ restaurant, but that’s alright as long as they don’t roam from their foundation, and they definitely haven’t with this location, very similar in layout, decor & style as the others I’ve visited, lots of dark cherry & low lights throughout the restaurant, smaller bar area than the others, as well as a bit smaller of a dining area, but the same great beers are served here with a different mix of seasonals, excellent service, very friendly & knowledable staff, very child-friendly as well, pretty much the same menu as the other locations with the same high quaility of food, the pizzas are especially great, definitely a highly recommended location for a visit “

“Really nice place with good service and pretty good food. Nice atmosphere, clean place where you can relax and enjoy some quality brews. Nice variety of seasonals, plus their standards on draught (pig iron porter has to be the best of these). 1 cask + 1 nitro pour. Bartender was very helpful and let me sample anything I wanted, plus a few that were not on the menu. My only complaint is the reserve bottles - $20 or more!? How can this be? I can get quality 750ml bottles at sly fox or victory for half that. Overall a very nice place.“

“Met up with Ratebeerian The_Epeeist here, and had a great time! Good beer, including 6 Iron Hill "standard" beers and 2 seasonals. Waitress actually knew about the beers, a welcome suprise that shold be the norm, not the exception! Excellent food, but a tad pricey. Overall, very good!“

“Amazing beer selection with great qualtiy- even the ’little’ beers are flavorful. Good service and the KNOW about the beer so you don’t get a stout when you ask for a schwartbier. Food was riduiculuosly good with large portions and the server actually knew what beers to serve with them. Try the nachos! They plate never ends.“

“Swung by for a quick check out visit for a couple of brewskies. Part of a strip mall. Bar is in the center with dining all around. Rather typical strip mall restraunt setting. Did not have food, but the beers were decent, that I had anyway. Decent service. Will return for a more thorough investigation.“

“This is my fave Iron Hill location. The food kicks ass, the beers get better and better every time I go, and the service has improved greatly. Iron Hill, at times, has an even better beer sampler than Victory. That’s the best compliment I can pay.“

“One thing you can say about Iron Hill is their locations are very similar. Same set up as other locations with expensive bar food and some good seasonal beers. This location is easy to find and has a large parking lot. Usually crowded but large enough to spread the crowd out.“

“Iron Hill’s newest location. Located in the ’The Shoppes at English Village’ strip mall. Decent amount of beers on tap (~8 including seasonals). Food is decent. A semi-regular place I go to as it is close to home and kid friendly in the dinning area.“
