“Way down a loong country lane in Warrenton. Gravel road ends at a niecly kept farm type building which house the brew house and tap room. empty upon my arrival, so I felt kind of lost in this spacious brew hall. Great service, good beer. Nice grounds surround the place.“

“This is basically the new iteration of Forge, in a much prettier destination. It's a barn-like building with a huge grassy seating area beside the old Forge truck. Sitting out there around sunset, I saw deer and a flock of wild turkey go through. Serene. Flights are available inside, and the beer follows the high quality that Forge set forth, especially on the Belgian styles. Many of the beers have same name and are the same as the Forge versions, though it's been a while since I had the Forge ones so can't tell if they are the same recipe or what. Definitely worth a stop. About 15 beers on tap when I was in.“

“Small dark place off the main strip of Warrenton. Friendly staff and cool setup with lots of video arcade games in a back corner. They had eight beers on tap when I was there, three of them IPAs. Beers were OK, though nothing I'd write home about. Wort Hog down the street has much better beer. Flights available inside, and they also sell cans of stuff they didn't have on tap when I was there.“

“Been two times so far for their various barrel aged Gold Cup bottle releases. A bit out of the way past an industrial park and located in a small strip mall looking plaza. Service is friendly enough. You can go up to the side of the bar to close out if the line gets big, though it still takes some time to flag someone down. Around 10-15 drafts including year round stuff, seasonals, and limited stuff. Mostly average beers with a few standouts now and then. No food but they usually have a food truck out back. Wouldn’t go out of my way to come here for just the drafts but worth a stop if you see a bottle/can release you’re interested in.“

“This is a small place, complete with afterthought-style outdoor seating. Inside reminds me of a Baja Bean on steroids. There’s stuff hanging all over the place; quite loud. They have about two dozen taps, lots of local stuff.“

“A very big and open space on an old military base. The brewery is in the front of the house with the large brew works in the back, just past an open loading dock that has more seating and usually a food truck parked out back. The main hall has a ton of benches and even a small stage for music. Some outdoor seating as well which on the day we went, was perfect for sitting outside and drinking beer. Beer selection was great with a few year round offerings and some seasons. They even have some creative non-alcoholic drinks and a kombucha tap which is different.“

“Foster’s is essentially a wholesome, geared-towards-family burger joint with 15 taps, and most of them local. The food is pretty darn good, and you can’t beat the price. There’s plenty of parking, and the patio out front is shielded with plenty of umbrella coverage so come rain or shine. The servers are all very polite and helpful.“

“There’s plenty of parking out front. The patio is pretty nice, though kind of small. A dozen draughts with only a handful that really stick out. I didn’t get any food. Beer prices seemed pretty fair. The bartender was very busy because she was working alone during the lunch rush, but she remained very pleasant and hospitable.“

“A pretty cool little joint located in historic Warrenton, VA. 15+ taps and about 30 bottles, but nothing too special. They do have a decent focus on local brands though. It’s worth checking out if you’re already in Warrenton, I wouldn’t worry about traveling too far out of your way.“

“Visited for the second time as the final rest stop on the Great Pumpkin Ride. Big tasting room with a few tables and big communal tables and no food (unless the food truck is not outside. Not a cozy place but it was quite busy and people were enjoying themselves. Beers are sold, if not spectacular.“

“There’s potential here. The location is out of the way even by rural Virginia standards. OBH is uncomfortable -- those benches! the cold! -- but the space has potential. The beer is good, but is served too cold and the prices are ambitious to the point of being laughable. (One fresh-hop IPA sold for $11 or $12 a pint!) OBH occasionally believes it is a live-music venue, a very, VERY loud one, but perhaps it will get over that. Potential abounds.“

“Located in a weird industrial / residential / commercial area, this is a beast to get to, follow the signs. Plenty of parking once you get there. Lots of taps, all the cores, current seasonals and some tap room limited options, about 2-3 dollars per 4 ounce pour. Not sure why so many people hate on the beer because it was quite good during my visit. Staff was a little passive but helpful. Large open space, bright, lots of wooden tables, country music playing. Wish I had read the reviews before visiting so I would have known to check out the museum. Next time, I guess.“

“It’s a large barn like atmosphere at Old Bust Head. There’s plenty of tables inside and outside has spacious patio seating too. On a Sunday visit it was rammed in here so clearly a popular weekend destination. Quite a number of beers on tap with flights available. The beers are run of the mill with nothing offensive. The RIS was the standout on the day however. This being an old military base gives an interesting setting and worth a look around.“

“Cool place in an old military warehouse. Looks like a roller derby could be held inside the cavernous space - it would be good for the numerous concerts they seem to hold here. Their beers are fairly solid. They’ve brewed simple styles and done them well. Their grain profile is particularly well done. Nice patio out front as well.“

“After an aborted trip out to West Virginia, we stopped by here. After driving on a number of local roads, we came up to something that was clearly a former military base, buildings, landscaping, everything. And it is. The brewery is huge. They clearly have a plan to expand a lot. The place was pretty busy when we arrived.

The tasting room is large, like restaurant sized. They had a small patio, which we sat on. The staff was very nice, polite and quick. Flights of 4 are $8. No food on premise, but they had a food truck when we left and there’s a little cafe, "Covert Cafe" as well as a small Vineyard building within eyesight of the brewery parking lot. There’s also an interesting museum that’s nearby that covers the history of the base as well as the cold war in general.“

“This place is in a really fascinating corner of rural Virginia. First thing you notice when approaching is that the subdivision looks like a former military base. The biggest feature is the large barn and grain silo, which of course hasn’t been used as an actual barn (or silo, at least not for grains) in a very long time. Head to the Museum of the Cold War, between the barn and the brewpub, for a full explanation. The brewpub itself is a low, modern affair with a small patio overlooking the picturesque parking lot and the barn/silo beyond. Beers were tasty and creative without being extreme. Flights of four are available. Good service. No food. Allow adequate time for the brewpub and museum.“
