“Beer Merchants are a decent and dependable online shop for craft beer. They say they specialise in British and Belgian beers, but they also have a superb selection for American and Scandinavian beers (they carry loads of Omnipollo at a not-too-terrible price). I've also had some Põhjala beers from them that I'd not seen anywhere else. I find the website that little bit harder to navigate than some, but that's being picky. Since the pandemic there's more competition for online beer shopping than ever before, but these guys certainly deserve a shout-out.“

“Had a couple of deliveries from this site so far. Very prompt and well packaged. Excellent selection of UK beers and a good selection from the US, the range of European stuff is pretty good too though only from a handful of select countries, but the breweries are generally very good ones. Pricing is reasonable and in line with most other online beer shops in the UK, pretty much what you’d expect. Shipping is a flat rate, again like most other shops.
Regarding customer service: my first order had a minor packing error (was sent a can of To Ol’s "Thirsty Frontier" when I’d ordered a bottle of "First Frontier") - easy mistake to make and I didn’t mind. But I did email them to let them know of the error however I received no response and not even an acknowledgement which was disappointing. On a separate and unrelated occasion I notified them of a possible security flaw on their website, again I received no acknowledgement of this. So that’s the only criticism I have of them, aside from that and overall I was very pleased with them.“

“Nice selection of beers but I’ve mostly ordered US and UK bottles. My main source of Kernel beers and I’m very happy all the IPAs, PAs and other hoppy beers have always arrived to me fresh. Good service, ok packaging and quick transport. Shipping is a bit pricy but still within limits.“

“I found this place when looking for some cheap empty bottles for the homebrewing. The deal looked to good to be true, and it kind of was, but I still got my bottles cheaper than most places and basically got a couple of interesting US beers and a glass to boot. The cellar is a bit full so I didn’t spend too much time looking, but the selection looked large and interesting. Delivery was efficient, I’ll be back to this site.“

“Ambiance defaults to 3 as online. Selection is decent enough, you’ll find things here that you don’t at the other UK online beer retailers, but when held up against the benchmark overall selection of BOE it falls a little short in this sense. Prices are reasonable and they run bargain bottles of stock that presumably has been sat around for a while. Nice of them to do this (without specifially stating it) as other retailers (BOE) will happily peddle you US bottles that are out of date let alone fresh! Service was first rate, I wanted delivery on a specific day and this was achieved without any hassle. Recommended.“

“I ordered some beers from Beermerchants and they were safely packaged, but it’s a pity the delivery took about a week, especially when many other British stores are able to deliver the next day. They did give me a free glass, though, so I shouldn’t grumble too much. :) Aside from that, they have got a good range of beers, especially from America and Britain and it’s worth having a look on their website.“

“Ordered from here many times over the years while on holiday in the UK. Bottom line: can’t get much better of a mail order service than this. Good selection of craft beers from the UK and abroad. Prices are reasonable -- in line with most other places and definitely not overpriced. Shipping is unbelievably fast. It usually ships the next business day after ordering and arrives within one day. Can’t recommend this place enough.“

“Online service. This place offers mostly Belgian beers. Had a decent selection and a couple of more rare beers, but nothing too exciting or rare. Of course you can get all the Trappist (except Westy). Also has a decent selection of UK beers (got a bottle of Good King Henry that I was excited to find). Also a decent selection of US beers (especially Port and Lost Abbey especially). However they seem to be selling out of most of their US beer and I don’t know if/when they will replace it, so now the selection is pretty limited to Port/LA. Prices seem to vary a bit. A number of the Belgians are as cheap or cheaper than almost anywhere else in the UK. Some of the other beers may be a little more expensive than other places, but in general the prices are pretty reasonable and normal for the UK. I have not had a problem with them shipping a beer that is close to or past its prime. However, they do not seem to restock too often, if at all. The selection has really decreased from the first time I used it, with the exception of the Belgians which have more or less stayed the same (with a few no longer in stock but some more beers added). I have got 2-3 boxes with them and never had a problem with beers breaking. Prompt and quick shipping. Reasonable price as well with a flat rate of £5.95 for UK mainland (£7.95 Overnight) and £7.95 for Scotland. The Scottish Highlands and non-mainland UK/Ireland get a bit steeper (around £20), and mainland Europe is also up there (approximately £20-30). Nice shop that has a couple of kind of hard to find beers (Good King Henry). Probably check this out if you want Belgians or Port/Lost Abbey. Selection has gone down from what it was, and I don’t know when that will change. Good store to get Belgians in the UK, but other than that, I would probably go with another online store.“

“Wonderful online store. From them you get exceptionally rare stuff. I am very happy with my orders generally. They arrive quickly and are very well packaged. I find the value sensational, despite the poor Euro rate. They have stocked extremely dedicated craft beer brews. Their newsletter-blog is great to read too. A very worthwhile visit. Also make sure you check often as possible. New stock is inputted frequently. Edit - 18th March. Had to update this. Lambics are now in and range is utterly awesome! Therefore a 14 for selection. If they got Struise it would be perfect 15! Hint hint.“

“I’ve now ordered twice from these guys and have found them to be excellent. Lots of unusual stuff that’s tough to get elsewhere in Britain (Angel’s Share, Older Viscosity, Beer Geek Brunch Weasel, Drie Fonteinen) all at very reasonable prices (can’t say fairer than £4.55 for a 750 of Girardin Black Label). They ship very quickly with both my orders arriving on the second working day after I ordered. The website is also well layed-out and easy to navigate. One minor gripe is that both orders I placed were down one item because it was out of stock so they should maybe keep their website updated a little more regularly. Having said that, they did contact me both times to let me know and swiftly refunded my money for the missing items. Fast becoming my favourite online shop.“

“I can never seem to stick a review on coz there’s always something new to add, lol. The site has really gone from strength to strength in the past year with a growing selection that simply can’t be matched anywhere else in the UK. There’s so many rare Belgian, Danish and US micros, although reasonably priced, my biggest gripe is that I can’t afford to buy them all. The boxes come quickly, professionally packed and, for those of you watching your carbon footprints, they’re environmentally friendly also.“

“Excellent website, the beer arrives promplty and well packaged. I ordered because I found a good range of Mikkeller beers that I did not think were available in the UK. Some decent Belgians and various other foreign beers, small selection of UK beers. I have shied away from ordering beer online because of the prohibitive delivery costs so I was most impressed with the reasonable delivery to England... £6 for any ammount of beer, minimum order £30. All in all very impressed.“

“Ordered the mixed Mikkeller case, thanks for the info’ from Phil L about that. Very impressed with the packing, really superbly packed possibley the best packed of any beers ordered thus far, also nice little touch with free glass thrown in. Delivery was also excellent it arrived very promptly. This was my first order from BEERmerchants but it is unlikley to be my last especially if they can keep getting such hard to get stuff as Mikkeller in.“

“Most of the stock seems to be Belgian. Few real rareties, however. Excellent service. Very fast delivery, immensely professional. Website always up to date with what’s in stock. Free gifts were always included in my orders - a Duvel branded keyring bottle opener for example. I don’t know if they still do them, but I ordered 10 yr aged 75cl bottles of Liefmans Goudenband and Kriek from them for less than a fiver a bottle.“
