“A good brewery in Largo with a nice tap list and tasty beer. The service and atmosphere are good too. No food, but food trucks do come at select days/times. Just check the schedule because it isn't open seven days a week.“

“Stopped in a little after noon on a Thursday. Easy to find and good parking. Not too busy. New place somewhat medium small in size. Very clean and the brewing equipment is right there on the floor next to the tables. Help was very friendly and very knowledgeable. A couple of TV's were on and some modern music playing. Overall good beer tasting experience and a decent price. Pleasantly surprised. Good selection of their beers as well as a few other local craft beers too. Glad I stopped by.“

“OK, didn't expect much here. Was just looking for a case of cheap pale lager, and I found it. A case of Rio for only 11$. However, they also have a great selection of local craft beers here and the prices are nothing to sneeze at, nice. Another thing about this place is their fresh made food. It compares to Giant Eagle Market district. For example, I found 4 barbecued chicken leg quarters for only 4$, and they tasted great! Lots of other freshly prepared foods here too.“

“Shockingly good find around the blocks from my folks winter getaway! Every few years we ventured down from Canadian winters to...well that doesn't need explaining....Largo...quaint little place with not much going on. Then just a few years ago we discovered Arkane but a few blocks from my folks. Couldn't be that good? Strip mall beer? Certainly couldn't be that good? From my first sip of Gimme Swelter I was hooked. So many great flavours brewed and brewed well. Small outfit, you get to know their names quickly. And did I mention the beer? Lots of creativity on their beer menu. Nosh is modest, but food trucks are regularly around.“

“Best Small Brewery Florida 2018 for good reason! Visited numerous times and try to go at least once a week minimum: First beer was Funkernickel 06/09/2016 and most recent was Hidden Sprinkles 03/11/2018. This is my go to brewery in the area and has been since opening. Very highly recommended to ratebeer user gnoff and we visited last time he was in town. The interior is still pretty industrialized looking but they now have plenty of barrels and local artwork displayed for sale. The beers range from Very Good to Extraordinary with their Disco Bloodbath (Black Currant Tart Dark Saison) being one of my top 5 beers of all time. They offer full pours, half pours, and 4x 5oz flights all reasonably priced. The flight is a tad bit high but once you try the first one it becomes well worth the price. No kitchen but there are foodtrucks almost daily now. Arkane also hosts numerous events every year where they have very unique taplists ranging from one of a kind Berliners and Goses to Candy-bar themed stouts. 20+ taps with a number of them being nitro taps. Variety can vary depending on recent events but normally there is something for everyone. One of the rare breweries in the area specializing in Goses and Floridaweisses worth the time trying. 32oz Crowlers are available but only for select beers. They have special crowler releases every week and sometimes more pending events. Arkane also offers guest Cider and Meads on tap. This is a MUST VISIT when visiting the Tampa Bay area and for very good reason. They are tucked away in a smaller strip plaza but the sign has good visibility. Very nice and fun group of local regulars visit here and anyone that has ever stood outside for a bottle release or attended an event knows that no visit to Arkane is complete without a stinging high five from Owner/Brewer Joe. Great group of employees and if all other breweries in the area close I would be fine just going here.“

“Pretty good liquor store with an actually pretty decent beer selection. It looks like nothing both frmo outside and inside, but everybody should find a few interesting bottles in here on the way to the beach or back to the airport. Watch the freshness of what you purchase as some bottles had accumulated a layer of dust.“

“Visited Monday January 30, 2017. Nice place, a bit dark perhaps, but cozy. Not crowded this day, so planty of room. Nice fast service. Most beer I had was very much to my liking. Does short pours. No mead ot cider ATM, apparently some law state they need a different venue to brew at for brewing something other than beer. Tap list a bit empty just now as of my friends who frequent more often, but still was plenty for me to choose from.“

“Love this place. Smallish and cosy yet spacious. Well-patronised but far from crowded. Conversation rules as the music is non-intrusive and the TV is mute. Almost 40 taps plus one cask (Fullers London Porter on this occasion). Many are local Florida breweries, although US classics such as Sculpin are available. Some nice Belgians too: I arrived just before Christmas, and they had Delerium Tremens Noël and St Bernardus Christmas Ale on tap. 6 or 12 oz pours are available for most beers. Growlers also available for all but the strongest offerings. In my opinion this is a must-visit for the region.“

“Comfortable, friendly and convivial brewpub tucked away in a strip mall. I love the artwork on the wall, as well as the 20 taps full of artwork behind the bar. All are Arkane beers and they represent a good variety of styles and ABVs. Guest mead is available but not cider (yet). I tried two beers - a standard IPA and a milk stout - and they were both solid. Prices are extremely good, and you can get half-pours, flights and growlers. They are fairly new so spread the word.“

“Nice place - bright signage I can almost see from the road. In a strip plaza with a Winn Dixie, but nice and in its own area. Spacious with indoor and outdoor seating - bar is centrally located with brewery in a corner and visible from most spots in the place. The liquid was solid. Beer after beer was close to style, and even if it was not, then I could always see what the brewer was going for. Polite, speedy, beer knowledgeable service and a nice crowd. Will definitely go back when I am in the area. When I was there the Crowler machine and flights were not available yet, but the bartender had a nice workaround, letting me try beers before committing.“

“What a cool place, and definitely worth the drive away from the beach or downtown. Went there for a Founders event they were having. Even though the headliner had kicked already by the time we got there, there was still more than enough to choose from. 40 taps of a complete mix of types of beers, Mostly regional. They offer sampler trays for a good price, pints and half pints. Limited snacks available, but food can be brought in, which we did with the pizza place 90 feet away. If you can’t make up your mind on a beer, they have a giant wheel #1-41 you can spin. Fun events throughout the week like movie, and vintage video game night. Only one person working during my visit, but she was very fun, knowledgeable of the beer, and the service was overall very good. Extremely impressive vintage empty bottle collection of display surrounding the store, which instantly makes any bottle collector such as myself very envious. Very good prices on very good beer. Very much impressed with this place. Would love to come back.“

“Pretty good sized bar with tables. Board games to play. Tons of beer bottles and other memorabilia on the walls. A lot of locals and people who knew each other were there. One bartender working, but he was very fast and nice. 40 taps and a good mix of local beer and national, international. The prices were good and samples available. Nice place to have a few beers.“

“Looks like an old beat up convenience store outside and inside its like an old beat up convenience store filled with the weirdest selection of hard to find beers. Its like your favorite comicbook shop but with beer instead of comics. I bought over $100 worth of beer for a party there and the guy running it gave me a big discount and helped me pack all the bottles up. This is my go-to place for hard to find stuff.“

“Looks are very deceiving, this place looks like a run down connivance store. Open the front door and its packed wall to wall with beer and wine. Lots of craft offerings. If you know where to look there are some real treasures here. Great Belgium beer selection but make sure you watch dates if your going for Ipa’s. I have seen some pretty dated stuff on the shelf’s here.“

“I really liked this place- tiny, cozy, and definitely dedicated to beer. The walls are lined with classic and rare beers (all empty) that show the owner’s appreciation for GOOD beer, not just quantity of beer. The tap list a great, on a gigantic chalkboard that si often updated. The beers are color coded to denote the style. The bar is very long, and shaped such that patrons can hold conversations across it, really adding to the local camaraderie. A pack of kids came in with a Gamecube and plugged in some Super Smash Bros- that’s definitely a good sign in my book.“

“Stopped here on the way back from the Tampa airport. This place is small inside and only focus is beer. The tapp selection is really good, they are well equipped for just about about any kind of beer drinking exerience you wsh. Very detailed beer menu all over the place. Friendly bartenders and they also have a very decent sampler, 4 for $8 and this includes the very expensive ones and the size of the samplers are large. Very pleased with this beer drinken experience. Lots of cigar city brews on tap.“

“look, i know a lot of people dog this place for its appearance and the way things are organized, or not organized. but i as someone who goes hunting around a lot of beer stores in the area, this place is a gem. it has a LOT of beers ive never seen anyplace else. now of course some of these bottle look ancient, but who cares? its nice to see some unique stuff, especially when a lot of places just rotate out the tried and trues and never get anything different. this a fun place to dig around if you have the time.“

“The ambiance is a lot to get over. It is an old Citgo station that has a ton of beer- floor to ceiling of 2 or 3 isles (where 2 people cannot go down at the same time), plus the cooler. There are some rarities, some vintage beers, some old beers, and some new releases. The problem is that all of the aforementioned beers are pretty much jumbled together with some semblance of order. Many times there will be similar breweries close to each other, and some separation between countries, but don’t go beer hunting unless you have time, and lots of it. They sell proper glasses and have a new release feature near the register, along with probably 5 coolers that are just singles. Prices are competitive to mildly pricey, but if you can’t find it anywhere else- try here. Also, asked the guy at the register a question, and he said he didn’t drink, so he could not help.“

“Small space in the corner of a small strip mall. 40 or so well chosen taps and some bottles with an emphasis on the bigger beers, lots of hoppy options. They also had 3 meads from B. Nektar. I can definitely find something to drink here. I met one of the owners Blaine, he is a committed beer guy who does a great job. I found the service to be very good. I would definitely go back.“

“Small square space at the street side end of a tiny tiny strip mall. It has a healthy sized square shaped bar right in the middle of the space where the whole place has a worn in to very worn in feel and look. They do manage to cram in a lot of seats for the limited floor space. 40 taps here where a couple of them will make the geek in you happy. For instance tonight they have on 3 French Hens as well as Great Divide Espresso Oak Aged Yeti and there’s also the ever present Randals (yes plural). I also see some B. Nectar meads available too. I do get the feeling they are over-whelmed or under staffed even on a night with the place about 1/3 full. The downer I get here too, other than the slow service and slightly unfriendly vibe, is that they serve the beer far too cold which does not help their hoppy tap offerings one bit. Will anyone ever learn hoppy ales (or any ale really) are not to be served frikin’ ice cold! Turn the damn chill down and serve the lagers in chilled glassware. As I leave I notice the ambient music is just loud enough to cause conversation to be a bit strained. If I lived close to here this would easily be my main place to head for a hoppy draft brew.“

“My local pub, nice to go to a place where you recognise everyone as you walk in the door, the owners Blaine & Chrissy are top notch people, and so are the rest of the bar staff. No food, but theres a Pizza takeout 3 doors down, and as far as I know, they have no problem with you bringing your own food in? There are 40 beers on tap and a small choice of bottled beer, but is expanding. Keep up the good work!“

“I feel like we are very spoiled in SE PA - such great distribtion of stuff from all over, but especially great bars. Florida is NOT a place I expect to find anything that rivaled here but I was in for a surprise when my sister took me to Willard’s on a visit to Largo. This is such a comfortable and friendly place. There was a sample or so if I wasn’t sure, but the owners and staff knew their stuff. Staff this friendly, knowledgeable and giving of their time, attract what matters 2nd most to me - a great mix of people. But the MOST important factor is the beer and they had that covered too - near 40 taps that had enough variety to make any BA happy. My only regret was that they had no real kitchen or hot food but I am betting that changes. Next trip to Florida you better beleive I will be back. Hopefully this place is successful - these people deserve it.“

“Willard’s is a great new addition to the Tampa Bay Brew scene! 40 taps of awesome craft beer. The local breweries are always represented and a wide selection of IPA’s and a few select imports too. The place is great, not at all pretentious and the staff is very knowledgeable and friendly! The owners will even stop what they’re doing to have a chat with you about beer or food or hockey... “Decent selection of beer but thats about it. It’s a converted convenient store with all the charm of a soup kitchen. I never would have set foot in the place if vinerd hadn’t told me there was good beer inside. Service was non-existent, 1 guy stocked the cooler while the woman working the register chatted on the phone the entire time pointing to my total and only stopping to say a quick thank you. Who cares right, they have beer. They did have a pretty decent selection crammed inside and I mean crammed the aisles were so narrow I had to do a wierd sideways bend just to see what was on the bottom shelf. As much as I hate it I’ll be back.“

“Stopped in here on a road trip from Orlando. This little store is quite a find here! Three large rows of individual bottles for sale. LOTS of selection. Six packs as well, and a cooler with a nice selection too. By far, one of the nicest selections of craft beer I have seen in Florida. Very surprising being in the area that it is. We did not buy this visit, just window shopped, but the clerk greeted us upon our arrival. While I did not see anything extremely unusual, there were numerous beers I hadnt tried yet. Prices were slightly above average but not bad.“

“One of my favorite stores in the area, actually the first store i shopped in for craft beers. The selection is great, and up to date on seasonal styles well before any major store gets them. Also the older beers you can’t find anywhere else, the prices are average lets just say i’ve seen much worse. The service is alright, i’ve only asked for help a few times, but i have run into quite a few distributors or people from certain breweries there that have always been a big help. You would never guess that this place had anything worth stopping for but it’s not about whats on the outside, you just have to go check it out for yourself if you haven’t already.“

“Stopped in here today, as I am staying in Largo- and damn, this place is definitely an essential! From the outside, you would think this is a run down typical macro distribution store- then you see the massive selection of craft beer split up into three or four aisles. Struise Pannepot, plenty of bottles of Ommeggeden and Chocolate Indulgence, 6 or 7 different varieties of Jolly Pumpkin (a couple of which I haven’t seen anywhere esle) , and all of the other great stuff Logan and some others have mentioned. Normally I would give a run down looking store like this a low mark on ambiance, but the atmosphere feels completely different once you are in the beer aisles drooling over the awesome selection.“

“Best beer store in the Tampa area, bar none. In fact, this only trails Knightly as the best beer store I have ever been to. I was in there for an hour and still didn’t see everything they had. What I did see was about 50 beers I had never seen anywhere else in Tampa. Nogne, Olfabrikken, Struise Pannepot just to name a few. Prices are fair, and the service is there if you need them. I prefer to be left alone, so it works for me. Almost every sampler pack you can think of, tons of rare beers, and glasses as well. Almost the perfect beer store, except some stuff is a bit old and it could be a bit spacier. Overall outstanding for what it is. Well worth the 45 minute drive.“
