COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
St-Feuillien’s Saison is what the Belgians call a beer of the terroir, a traditional farmhouse ale with all the rich savour of the fertile land of southern Belgium. Saison, a warm golden blonde beer, is a top-fermented classique. Thanks to secondary fermentation in the bottle, Saison has an unmistakable flavour full of rich nuances and a slight tang. Judge for yourself. In first instance, for export to the USA only.

Okay.

ozzatoadisback (645) - ITALY - JUL 18, 2023
UPDATED: JUL 18, 2023 Pours translucent orange, a little hazier on final pour. Not so big per style but compact white head, showing good enough retention and modest lacing. The aroma is mainly estery/fruity with pear, peach, lighter banana and perhaps a citric hint, while more classic saison notes (herbal/grassiness, earthiness, spiciness) are in the back. Feels quite vivid and well defined. Taste notes follow the aroma quite closely, with fruitiness taking the main stage as the smell suggested and more pronounced spiciness. The beer is quite sweet for the style (there's also a light honey note) but well balanced by a clean, dry enough finish/aftertaste. Medium or slightly below medium bodied, with medium carbonation (lighter than style average in carbo). An easy drinker, the mouthfeel feels nicely lively and still decently full/satisfying. Overall this was something between a saison and a low abv tripel (the fruitiness and spiciness are quite tripleish) and anyway a beer i enjoyed.

UPDATED: MAR 31, 2023 4 pack of 33 cl cans, bb 23-01-05. Brassy-golden with some floaters and a thin disc of beady foam. Aroma of apple, white grape, lemon, and a hint of funky hay. Tastes the same plus touches of pear and honey, and then a hint of resin in the finish. Near-medium bodied with medium-plus carbonation and a nice little dry slant on the finish.

tontalus (1808) - - DEC 23, 2022

UPDATED: JAN 25, 2022 Bottle at De Blauwe Kater, Leuven. Sadly due to polite conversation I couldn't rate this beer as thoroughly as I'd wish but this was an absolutely cracking saison and that I will try to try agian before i leave. Lovely almost ipa looking colour. Fresh and light and just the right abv. Good body. Fantastic saison.
