COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Limited release from Boatrocker brewed once annually. 2015 vintage at 11.4% ABV. An Imperial stout that uses U.K Malts & Hops and is barrel aged in Victorian (Starward) Whisky Barrels. Includes 2013, 2014 and 2015 vintages. 2019: This years Ramjet has a touch less booze that last year which gives the beer a bigger body, and more palate weight. This year it’s all about balance, and will reward carful cellaring. The red wine Starward whisky casks are showing both their previous inhabitants well in Ramjet 2019, complementing the luscious chocolate, coffee and rich malt character of this vintage.

UPDATED: NOV 29, 2020 Bottle 2020 from Empress in Devonport, Tasmania. FFS will the mad ticker of the Jersey Shore ever stop? The answer is a definitive NO, I will tick sick shit to the ends of the earth. Paired with the finest chili chocolates of Tasmania because FFS dogg that’s how I roll. Get ticks or die tryin’. Black with a lasting tan head. Aroma is an absolute phenomenon, beautiful whisky notes, nuts, oak, vanilla, roast, dark chocolate. Flavor is super well balanced, mildly sweet dark chocolate, roast, orange peel, oak barrel. Very smooth and medium full body. Damn good, but that’s not surprising because Australia makes the best whisky in the world. That’s right. I said AUSTRALIA makes the best whisky in the WORLD. If you doubt it, fight me. I will be proven right in the end, mark my words. If you doubt me, just look up Sullivans Cove and see how they placed in any recent whisky awards show. That’s just one. Anyway, got this tick, it was sick, that’s all I need to say.

UPDATED: NOV 29, 2020 This is rich, heavy and delicious but it's weighed down by its price. Given what you're paying there are better alternatives like Wolf in the Willows.

UPDATED: JUL 5, 2020 Prepared myself to be slammed down by the whiskey palate, but when I got there it was so smooth. Its like eating a service station hotdog and not getting food poisoning. You expected to get food poisoning. You cleared your afternoon ready for your food poisoning. Suddenly it doesn’t come and you’re relieved, but not sure how you got away with it. Some hotdog. Some beer.

UPDATED: APR 4, 2020 (2019) Got this smuggled from OZ, delivered from brewery to mate's address and went through quarantine in Hong Kong. Now we are talking....Pours black, thick, visible carbonation at first, tan head, coffee cup lacing. Gorgeous. Aroma of whiskey, oak, vanilla and molasses. Quite sweet on the palate, but with roasty notes, chocolate, molasses, cherry, smoke, peat, oak. A cherry-ish oaky after taste lingers, while I touch my head. I have another sip and add molasses to the bill. Wonderful brew!

UPDATED: FEB 11, 2020 31st Jan 2020: 8th International Beer Exchange in De Bierboom (Pre Brugge Bier Festival). 2019 Version at 11.%ABV. Dark and moody looking brew, tanned topping. Lots of booze, chocolate and coffee in the nose and rich taste, liked it.

UPDATED: NOV 11, 2019 From strength to strength, and a beer that has helped raise Australia's brewing profile exponentially since its launch in 2014, Boatrocker Brewers & Distillers' Starward Ramjet series continues to impress. Appearance: Apocalyptic squid ink black with a latte crema-tan head that does its level best to hold on. Some legs. Aroma: Swiss dark chocolate. Liquorice. A confluence of coffee aromatics that call to mind your favourite roaster's selection with dark roast and fruits. Fruity, slightly oaky whiskey underneath it all. Flavour: Similar to the aroma, but with smoothness and a measured impression of sweetness. A touch of date molasses. Finish and mouthfeel: Finishes balancing and dry, with enough warmth to deeply satisfy while also inviting you back for more. Smooth in body but with slightly elevated carbonation. One of the most well constructed and well-rounded Ramjets to date (including the coffee and Roger iterations!). Allowed to develop over a year or two this is something that could become all the more special. Beer Cartel #ratebeersupertasters
