UPDATED: AUG 14, 2023 Opaque black with a medium tan head that left nice lacing on the glass. Roasted malts, dark chocolate, coffee, wood, vanilla, and bourbon.

Dark brown colour. Nice aroma, chocolate, with soy sauce notes, some alcohol. Thick, bold, with dark chocolate, umami, molasses, burnt sugar, old wood. Not the depth of the best, but it has the usual great balance of Hill Farmstead.

UPDATED: NOV 6, 2021 500ml (thx, Eric D.!) @ Alex's shared with Ryan. Bottled on Nov-07, 2018. Appearance: very dark brown with a dark beige head. Aroma: bourbon barrel with some burnt notes, some fruity notes. Taste: nice body, moderate to high sweetness, some molasses, pleasant bourbon barrel with some burnt notes that are just on the edge of my tolerance to this character. Overall: another nicely balanced beer from HF.

Bien bonne.

UPDATED: JUL 2, 2019 Ładna porterowa podstawa (pumpernikiel, melasa) z wyraźną wanilią z beczki. Całość cielista i słodka.
