COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Tennessee Cream Ale, the second release in our Native Family of beers, draws its inspiration from the rich agricultural and culinary heritage that guides our brewing program. Corn has long been a staple crop of the South, whether being served at the table or sipped from a jar, and was traditionally used as the base ingredient for the Cream Ale style of beer. In celebration of that heritage, we have crafted a light golden Tennessee Cream Ale brewed with flaked corn and heirloom grits, and fermented with a wild strain of native yeast from our Farm for a delicately malty body with a hint of corn sweetness and a crisp, refreshing finish.

UPDATED: AUG 16, 2022 750ml bottle @ home. Pours a lightly hazy golden colour with a large quickly dissipating white head. Nose has a nice funk and wild yeast character, while there's something else like a spicy malt aspect. Flavour is nice grain malt character that works with wild yeast aspect, while there's odd vegetable almost celery like quality. Medium bodied, almost effervescent carbonation, and a mild sweetness with a mild acidity. It's interesting.however I'm not sure I'd call this a cream ale, wild yeast, yet it has corn for some body

UPDATED: AUG 16, 2022 Poured from 750mL bottle. Big pop from the cork, huge head, but super quickly dissipates. Hazy dull gold with quickly dissipating white head. Corn, cereal malt, touch of funk, decent carbonated mouthfeel, quite dry. More wild ale than cream ale. Not bad. However, I feel like the whole 'Top 50 Cream Ale' thing just helps it stand out compared to being an okay wild beer. Oh well... new state tick.

UPDATED: JUL 20, 2020 Bottle. A Belgian cream ale, how unusual. Cloudy gold with a huge head. Aroma was corn and a bit funky. Taste was also corn and funky with grains and a slightly sweet finish.

UPDATED: JAN 4, 2019 Refrigerated 12.7 oz. brown bottle corked and capped poured into a glass. Hazy golden with huge white head. Aroma is tart, medium body, well carbonated, and a little lacing. Taste is tart And yeasty. I would never guess this was a cream ale, but rather saison. Good beer.

750mL bottle. Pours yellow-gold with a large sudsy white head. Aroma is corn, funk, florals, citrus, grass, and a hint of hay. Taste is corn, cereal, light citrus, pale malt, funk, grass, a little barnyard Brett, and a little hay. Lightly tart. Dry-ish. Yeast lingers. Light-medium body. High carbonation. Spritzy, frothy mouthfeel. Complex. More like a corn saison than a cream ale.

Aroma is Belgian yeast/Brett, malts/grains and citrus/fruit. The flavor is citrus/fruit/mild berries, malts/corn and a spritzy/mildly tart finish.

Bottle from Red Spirits & Wine. Pours an earthy gold with a full 2 fingers of soapy foam. Very active carbonation. Nice woody, Brett forward nose. Light toasted oak on the pallet with faint grain and earthy funk. Dry finish, with more wood, brett and grass. A hint of sweetness, but the brett does the heavy lifting. Classic BFB beer.

appearance: hazy bright golden orange, huge creamy white head, good lacing. aroma: corn, grass, funk, hominy. taste: slightly sweet corn, a sharp funk (almost brett-like), grass, a hint of honey. finish: lingering funk, grass; tremendously bright, prickly palate. notes: This MFer drank like water. Carbonated, yeasty, corny, creamy, delicious water. By far the best in the style I’ve ever had. Bottle from The Brew Cellar in Charleston, South Carolina.

A corked-n-caged cream ale. God I love craft beer. Too bad I’m not over the moon with this particular craft beer; big, heavy funk melding with the grass-n-corn soul of a cream ale isn’t a flavor I wholeheartedly dig. Nose is neutral graininess backed up by a modest swipe of barnyard, and the looks are rather sexy, hazy gold with a massive, lingering white head and ample lace. Taste mixes corn sweetness with bitter floral hops, all set against a bready middle and ever-present funk. Slight tart notes prop up the back end, and the finish is appreciably dry and yeasty, yet the general cream ale blah-ness keeps the pint from becoming anything exceptional. Drinkable, though, and the sparkly texture invites further investigation. Worth trying for the curiosity factor alone.

375 mL bottle. Hazy orange with a big fluffy head that lasts and lasts. Smells of sweet corn and cereal malt. Yeasty "funk" or "barnyard" or whatever you want to call it. A little floral, too. Tastes grassy and even a little herbal up front. Bitter and yeast immediately. Some of the corn sweetness comes through, but it has an earthy and, seemingly, bretty finish. I had no clue what to expect from the label. This was a pleasant surprise.
