COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
As with all Gueuzes, Hanssens is a mixture of several vintages to produce a lambic which is refreshingly fruity.

This is the result of blending different lambics of different ages. The second fermentation takes place inside the bottles and therefore they are stored for minimum six months in constant temperature kept cellars.

blackisle (4374) - Amsterdam IJburg, NETHERLANDS - AUG 27, 2023
UPDATED: AUG 27, 2023 Bottle 37.5 corked and caged @home poured into a teku glass. Sour nose. Clear pale to medium amber colour, good frothy white head, slowly diminishing, leaving some yeast circles, light lacing. Aroma sour, fruity, green apples, vinegar, horse blanket, brett, woody notes. Mouth filling sweet and sour taste, brett, unripe prunes, lemon zest, green apples, vinegar notes, some yoghurt, some wood. Medium body, sticky texture, soft carbonation, dry but also fruity sweet and sour aftertaste, light bitter notes in the finish, rich and tasty geuze, what a joy, excellent stuff.

UPDATED: JUL 25, 2023 Bottle - 375ml. Hazy blond body with a thin, white foamy head. Fresh malty/hoppy aroma with oaky, yeasty, and sour fruits hints. Its sharp, robust taste is dominated by tart and oaky flavors. Ends with a long sour finish. Very good example of Gueuze.

midovark (6294) - Alkmaar, NETHERLANDS - FEB 15, 2022
UPDATED: FEB 15, 2022 Bottle shared at InVitro. Pours a slightly opaque golden with white head. Nose is lots of funk, fruity notes, citruses, light earthy character and intense acetic acid. Taste is heavily acidic upfront, and also rather sour but then it eases up and the sip turns fruity, estery and funky and these notes last well into the finish as well. Light bodied with soft carbonation. Fun, even with the quite harsh acidic character.
