Aroma is medium intense with a sweet malty odor mingling with alcohol and an earthy touch. Dark roasted malts, brown sugar and toffee. Dark alcohol. Coffee and vanilla.
Light carbonation. Thick, oily, viscous, creamy, smooth, soft and gently tingling texture.
Flavor is intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a strong bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter and slightly boozy. Lingering. Finish is surprisingly dry.
Pretty intense and surprisingly hop-forward Imperial Stout.
one51 (2098) - - JAN 7, 2024UPDATED: JAN 7, 2024 Can from the advent calendar, drunk only partly in hopes of less jet lag tomorrow. Super dark pour, immense brown head that lasts. Roasty nose with cacao and molasses hints. Super full but smooth flavor. Excellent balance of hop bitterness and light sweetness, big mouthfeel but not syrupy like (let's be honest) most ten percenters. Refined with nice complexity. Awesome one!

colui72 (4903) - Sassari, ITALY - DEC 9, 2023UPDATED: DEC 9, 2023 My advent calendar beer no.9
A very proper and classic Imperial Stout, strong on roasted goodness. Nose of roasted barley, caramelly, chocolatey and licoricey.
It pours pitch black with a fluffy. brown cotton candy head, firm and with amazing lacing.
Roast dominates its flavour, which starts with a rather bitter taste, roasted flavours include barley, cocoa nibs and coffee beans. It doesn't feel sweet, and its steady roasted goodness walk along some herbal bitterness til a dry and bitter finish.
Full body, smooth and literally sticky to the lips, alcohol is quiet.
This is something we need sometimes, a bold Stout, and arguably the best value Imperial Stout in the world.
