Just wanted to say congratulations to Jeppe with his michelin star. Luksus which is the restaurant part of Tørst in NY just got one Michelin star as the first restaurant ever who exclusively pair its food with beer. Quite a feat. |
Awesome had a great birthday dinner there earlier this month. |
Wow, that’s fantastic! |
Saw that yesterday, very cool. Curious if they would have still been awarded a star with just beer pairing as the only option. Is beer getting that kind of recognition? |
Holy shit, that’s awesome not just for him but for all craft beer. Major feat |
This is very cool. Congrats to Jeppe and Daniel for some excellent work! |
Originally posted by pepsican My wife doesn’t drink and they paired non-alcoholic custom drinks with every course for her. there was a cucumber drink, a beet drink, and a bunch of other i forget they were all pretty interesting and well done. Ive also had the beer pairing at Eleven Madison Park (3 stars) a few years ago and at Blanca (just upgraded to 2 stars) I believe Jeppe helped provide the beers that they serve there where I custom made my own beer pairing so beer is certainly getting serious here in NYC. |
It’s definitely becoming a thing in NYC, as Jow said. Few restaurants are doing beer-only pairings as of right now, but beer is now a much bigger option at a lot of these high-rated places. |
Yeah Eleven Madison had a great beer list. I’ve been seeing more places use beer in pairings as well, anything from PBR to imperial stouts. I suppose we will eventually see a place with beer being the only option get in the guide. |
A great day for craft beer indeed. Originally posted by pepsican What is the other alcoholic pairing option offered at Luksus? |
Bring your own is an option available for $25 correct? the guide seems to find that totally acceptable, although I’ve never been to a bring your own that has more than one star. |
