You can see any delays or service disruptions in the box at the left on the following page: http://www.mta.info/ There are weekly unlimited cards and cards you can add value whenever you need. One weekly card costs about the same as 12 trips. If all of the family is not going to be traveling together, all the time, weekly card would not be necessary. The only down side with adding value to the card is the fact that it can be used only 3 times at any given instance, which means if you're four people you'll need a second one. More info here: http://web.mta.info/nyct/fare/FaresatAGlance.htm

Superb. I cant imagine Not Doing at least 2 rides a day. So the 7Day pass looks the simplest. and then just pay as i go for the other couple of days. Cheers

Needless to say, you'll need one per person of the weekly

Are you saying you will head down to Coney Island Brewing in Brooklyn?
If yes, they are only closed Monday and Tuesday.
But, as the #1 rater of Coney Island beer and someone that visits often b/c there is nothing else in South Brooklyn (like nothing, no decent bar or store), I highly recommend going to CI only if you want to visit the area. CI brewing is almost completely pedestrian for current standards and a long ways away. Its a decent length train ride and that time could be spent doing other, more worthwhile activities. However, if you wanted to see the amusement park (not sure when it closes down), or visit Brighton Beach (the Russian neighborhood), then do it. Otherwise, skip it.

Also, there is a brewery near the ferry in Staten Island. I am sure you knew already but just in case.

Was possiblly for amusement park aquarium etc. Hadn't even noticed the brewery.
Trying to mix up family and beer stuff.
It didn't look far from other half. But didn't actually look in detail
