“Worth the trip through the little lanes we got there on a Sunday and i can see why it’s popular, you need to get there early on for a table and book ahead for the Barn, great atmosphere and a good selection of food,it arrived quick and the staff were friendly and helpful,a fair selection of beer in great condition, the Old Peculiar from the wood was lovely, great views and seating outside,as they say bring your dog bring your boots, wonderful.“

74 /100 APPLETREEWICK VILLAGE
“Located in the beautiful valley the fast-flowing river Wharfe winds through in the southern part of the Yorkshire Dales, this is a place plenty make a beeline too in the area despite the village of Appletreewick being difficult to reach. There’s little choice except to use small winding roads to get here but drinkers and diners are rewarded with fine views given its elevated position looking down the valley that has little buildings and plenty of nature. The seats outside are a fine place to sit in the summer and there’s a rear garden area here too. The car park is placed up the hill behind the building although you can park outside the front too. The building is attractive at first glance but gets better as you explore with a glorious thatched add-on barn area at the rear with a room decorated to give an almost medieval ambiance to it. The main pub areas are just as nice with various clutter on the walls around several rooms full of wooden tables, flagstone floors and fireplaces. There’s a fine feeling of old England here. Ales also take pride of place here with a Dark Horse brew a permanent fixture alongside a decent selection of cask, more-so than lager.“
