80 /100 VAL-DIEU 225 Very beatiful place and surroundings. Got a sneak peek at the brewery which looked very old style. Nice restaurant section with a large patio and good selection of beers. Well worth a visit. |
70 /100 VAL-DIEU 225 Leuke omgeving door de eeuwen oude abdij met hun typische bieren. Leuke degustatie gehad bij het bezoek aan de brouwerij. Jammer dat er geen Nederlandse gids bij was |
40 /100 VAL-DIEU 225 Zelf service …. Heel erg laag niveau |
84 /100 VAL-DIEU 225 Very nice place to eat something and drink some nice cider/beers. Food is excellent, prices are ok, environment is great. Will visit again! |
92 /100 VAL-DIEU 225 Gorgeous abbey and grounds. Quite busy on Sunday afternoon. Blonde, dubbel, tripel, grand cru on tap at restaurant. Tasty cheeses available. Cellar like gift shop offers lots of handsome taster packages. 800 year cuvee available in bottle. Nabbed the last xmas bottle too. A truly unique experience. Off the beaten path but well worth a visit! |
78 /100 VAL-DIEU 225 The abbey has a self-service café that has 5 beers on tap and a gift shop that has like 10 different beers from the bottle. Sitting in the courtyard of an abbey that was built in the 1200s is something that is on its own would worth a trip. I’m very happy that I could visit the abbey, and looking forward to taste the content of the taster pack I bought there :-) |
74 /100 VAL-DIEU 225 Beautiful place which is well worth a visit. Spiritual environment where the love of good beer wanders around. Both the store and the restaurant are in the sign of the Val Dieu beers but they Will give you a good time. |
76 /100 VAL-DIEU 225 Rustgevende "casse-croute" in de schaduw van de abdij. |
70 /100 Stassen Vin (Beer Store) 2 PLACE ALBERT 1ER Larger bottle shop which is easy to be found in the centre of Aubel. They have got a little Standard-fan shop in the beginning, lots of wine, spirits and beer. The range of beer selection goes from beers you also find in any bigger supermarket to some rare/nice/special ones you won’t get everywhere. Prices are for a shop like that average, but normally I would say a little bit expensive but bearable. Staff was okay, but I missed some friendliness. |
70 /100 Stassen Vin (Beer Store) 2 PLACE ALBERT 1ER Stopped here to pick up a few beers to rate. Not too bad of selection, nothing that you couldn’t get many other places. The beer selection was small compared to the wine and other spirits, but not too bad. Pretty decent selection of glassware too. Prices weren’t too bad either. Pretty cool town, will definitely visit again. |
74 /100 Stassen Vin (Beer Store) 2 PLACE ALBERT 1ER Hit this place w/ SkyCop32 on our first whirlwind Belgian beer experience. Nice little store with a decent selection of great/good belgian beers and proper glassware. |
76 /100 Stassen Vin (Beer Store) 2 PLACE ALBERT 1ER Big wine store out the back, but taking up prime position and the front of the store: beer and local products. Most of the beer was local too, all Belgian, Wallonian, they probably have everything currently brewed by l’abbaye de Val Dieu. |
76 /100 Stassen Vin (Beer Store) 2 PLACE ALBERT 1ER Very nice beer, liquor, and wine store. They have around 150+ bottled beer and few that I had not seen elsewhere which is a plus. They also stock stuff for making wine and beer. The staff is nice and speaks English which helps me! I will be going back I am sure. |
