74 /100 Physician (Bar) HARBORNE ROAD Called in out of curiosity as this 2019 Good Beer Guide entry was a massive building that used to be a library of medicine. It was a maze of well laid out rooms interlinked with a variety of seating some set for dining. We went in from the public car park at the rear at 10am opening time so had to go round the massive garden area at the rear, side and front laid out patio style and some on lawned area to get to the front entrance. Large bar with a decent selection. A Brunning Price bar with their Traditional Bitter, Taylor Boltmaker, Hook Norton Flagship, Fixed Wheel Through & Off, Green Duck Close Action, Gloucester Gold, Titanic Plum Porter, and 2 ciders. Chose the Green Duck which was fine. Walls adorned with framed photos and prints which would be great to have a look round but would take days I reckon to appreciate. |
58 /100 White Swan (Bar) HARBORNE ROAD, CHAD VALLEY It’s hard to rate this place as it has the best and worst of two worlds. It is a beautiful pub with slightly upperscale pretentious food and portions but it is delicious. Prices are high because Ey are trying to attract a certain croud. So as a restarant it is nice. Beer selection is boring and very corporate. You will not find anything here interesting beer wise. |
