86 /100 Star & Garter (Bar) 227 BROMLEY HIGH STREET Visited August 2023 - saving the best until last for the Bromley visit. Heard so much about this place, so was great to visit with Tony on a visit back. First off you can't miss it on the high street, beautiful old well presented fronted building, and lovely inside as well. Lots of seating and a nice sized centre bar offering a great choice of keg and cask and also fridges and shelves of beer for drink in/take out. They serve 3rds/flights and had a great choice on our visit which we got through including Kernel/Overtone/Sureshot/Siren/Tartarus on keg/cask plus some Verdant/Northern Monk cans from the fridge. Service was great, and prices decent, really great place and will certainly visit again. Top drawer. |
74 /100 Barrel & Horn (Fullers) (Bar) 204-206 HIGH STREET Visited August 2023 - on the main high street a few doors up from the other Fullers owned pub (The Partridge) good sized trendy looking venue, a good selection on keg for our visit, and went here with Tony for a Vault City TTO which they served flights for. Friendly staff, good service and even without the TTO a good selection across keg and also a fridge with a very nice selection of latest canned craft available. Well worth a stop. |
76 /100 The Partridge (Fullers) (Bar) 194 HIGH STREET Visited August 2023 - on the corner of the main high street, this is a beautiful old pub from the outside but especially inside. Lots of seating to the left as you enter and a long bar in the front to the right. As expected allot of Fullers but also some new Siren on our visit - all beers on cask were in great condition. They also had lots of bottles of different years Fullers Vintage on the back wall for drink in, going back quite some years stored in the back, so useful if you missed some years. Staff friendly and food looked good although didn't try. Really nice place and well worth combining with the Barrel & Horn and Star & Garter on the same street. |
54 /100 Greyhound (JDW) (Bar) 205 HIGH STREET Visited August 2023 - on the main high street and fairly busy on this early week day evening visit. Service was pretty slow over my visit, had 4 beers on cask here during my stay, the first two were terrible and unratable for me, offered two more instead which luckily were serviceable/better condition. Overall much preferred the Richmal Crompton JDW. |
62 /100 23 WESTMORELAND PLACE Visited August 2023 - easy to find place right opposite Bromley South train station, fair sized bar area, usual kind of selection as expected for a spoons, had a couple of cask ales in good condition (unlike the other spoons Greyhound to the north) - decent service on an early week day afternoon, overall not a bad spoons on my visit. |
70 /100 Star & Garter (Bar) 227 BROMLEY HIGH STREET Visited 06.11.22 on a detour after finishing leg 9A of the Green Chain Walk. 6 interesting ales on cask and several more on keg. Quiet on mu Sunday visit. They also have a bottle/can shop in a corner with carft beers from at leadt the UK and Belgium.

66 /100 Barrel & Horn (Fullers) (Bar) 204-206 HIGH STREET Visited after walking leg 9A of the Green Chain Walk 06.11.22. A decent selection of craft ales on keg, and they seem to do monthly tap takeovers. Family friendly atmosphere. Friendly service. The food came in generous portions. |
74 /100 Star & Garter (Bar) 227 BROMLEY HIGH STREET Visited this place last Friday. At one point this place would have had 3 entrance to the lounge, etc. However only one was open and not obvious so a local took pity and opened the door after I tried the two more obvious doors. On going in there was a very lively atmosphere but the group of 8 or 9 soon headed off and then I was one of two custowmrs. Decent array of well known craft breweries, albeit I always like a local option which was lacking. They have an annoying Spoons touch in that the bogs are up 100 flights of stairs. Bottle shops in the corner with some interesting Scandinavian and Belgian beers amongst others. A nice old school pub serving an impressive array of craft beers. Just so quiet on a Friday afternoon. Staff polite enough buy more interested in talking to each other. |
52 /100 Greyhound (JDW) (Bar) 205 HIGH STREET Narrow pub on the High Street, most seating is inside with a few tables out front. A fairly uninspiring selection of cask plus the usual macro keg. |
88 /100 Star & Garter (Bar) 227 BROMLEY HIGH STREET Fab pub that I’ve wanted to visit for ages. Beautiful heritage frontage. Inside there six cask and 20 keg lines. The place just oozes charm even when quiet. Will come back on a busy evening and take it all in. |
68 /100 Barrel & Horn (Fullers) (Bar) 204-206 HIGH STREET This place has a cafe bar type vibe. At least 15 choices on keg although nothing terribly interesting on my visit. There is a can fridge with some better options. |
86 /100 Star & Garter (Bar) 227 BROMLEY HIGH STREET Recently refurbished pub converted nicely into a craft beer/cask ale emporium. Owned by the same people who run the Stormbird in Camberwell. 16 keg taps + 6 cask ales on offer, 3rd pint glasses available so easy enough to get through as many as you wish. You can also bring hot/cold food in from elsewhere. Excellent selection on tap (and in the fridge) when I was last there- Mikkeller,Omnipollo, Cloudwater, Magic Rock + many, many more. Nice, relaxed atmos. My missus and the littlelun like to pop into Bromley on a weekly basis whilst I slob about at home, due to the existence of this place I shall be joining them a lot more often! Top Marks! |
74 /100 Barrel & Horn (Fullers) (Bar) 204-206 HIGH STREET Good selection of ales and lager available, plenty of craft and US offerings. Nice ambiance although can get very busy in the evenings, especially if live music is on. A trendy little alcove in otherwise vanilla Bromley. |
76 /100 Barrel & Horn (Fullers) (Bar) 204-206 HIGH STREET Really nice place on the High street. Always a nice vibe, with lots of events, like live music and open mic nights. Lots of taps with some classics from the UK, Belgium, Germany and the US. Good food too. Here and Belgo are the two best places in Bromley for beer. |
