80 /100 KERKSTRAAT 92 An ancient family mansion is the center of this interesting brewery. We got a personal tour with a nice guide who could even answer our special home brewer‘s questions. The tour ends with a tasting of the three different beers produced there. Hopefully nothing will change too much after ABInbev took over. |
78 /100 KERKSTRAAT 92 Rondleiding gekregen door de brouwers zelf, blijft een erg sterk product! |
68 /100 De Groene Wanderling (Restaurant) KASTEELSTRAAT 189 This is sort of a country restaurant on the edge of a wood with some walking trails, and an old chapel across the road. The food was tasty and the beer list was solid. Made for a decent stop before WSF, and even the service was not bad when I stopped in. |
56 /100 De Groene Wanderling (Restaurant) KASTEELSTRAAT 189 We visited here on the first day of the weekend of Spontaneous Fermentation Sat 26th May 2012. The restaurant is situated in a pleasant wooded area, and if it were not for Tim Webbs excellent Good Beer Guide to Belgium I guess I would never have got here. Sadly we encountered a rather surly and slightly rude lady serving us we looked at us when we entered and in the manner of a librarian being disturbed from more important things tilted her glasses downwards and said ’get a table I will come to you’ before all but shooing us away, aside from this the beer choice was pretty good and the meal choice looked wide ranging, though we didn’t eat here. The other younger lady who we settled the bill with was much nicer and far more pleasant. This place is a larger than it looks from the front view and despite a lot if inside tables we went through to the back garden which was mostly shaded. |
