“We visited here Friday 16th February 2024. It's a small town so I won't go into details as to where it is. This place was Loz's choice and I have to say probably overall the best place we visited today, the Urquell from the tank was excellent, I also had another beer as well, Volba sládků Ječ-Man which was a Heller Bock and also very good. Btw the food was also fabulous, Loz had a burger and I had a big Pork thing :-) and all very reasonably priced. the surroundings are very much the current vogue, so plenty of exposed metal, brick, wood etc, even some American style High School lockers, very spacious with long tables. You can sort of see into the kitchen, as they are preparing and cooking. Yep easily the best place today.“

“We visited here Friday 16th February 2024. It's a small town so whilst this isn't in the centre one could still suggest it's fairly centrally located as it's close to all the other attractions in this very touristic town. We visited the small bar which also doubles up as a shop to sell their bottles, the guy serving could brush up on his friendliness skills, he was okay but hardly warm or welcoming. There were three beers on draft, all fine. There were a few people coming and going whilst we were here. It's a bit dark inside, bar immediately off to the left as you enter, it's narrow with seating for maybe 15 - 20 max? It's ok but we visited two better places in town. *Note the restaurant is currently closed, not sure if there are plans for this to reopen.“

“There are not many places to go for a craft beer in Krumlov. Quite crowded on Friday evening, but the selection was uninteresting with somewhat average lagers and one IPA. Still, you don't have other options“

“Nice little bar with outside seating. They have three taps and a my visit they also had three bottles although only one of those was different from the tap lineup. Beers were above average. Go here if you’re in town.“

“Huge place for Krumlov. Lost of seating on benches on two floors. Watched the World Cup final here on 2014. Most Czechs pulling for Argentina! Mainly filled with tourists, true of most places in CK>“

“Nice enough bar in 2 rooms, bar in the back, old stone building vaulted ceilings, wood. No tap's, selection was macro lagers by the bottle, Budvar etc. Fairly full early evening with a Young crowd drinking cocktails and long drinks. Not a beer place.“

“Restuarant was closing down just as we entered early evening on a weekday. Had a beer in the bar down stairs. 3 beers on tap, pilsner 10 was nice. Inside had a strong smell of cleaning solvents and outdoor seating comes with cigaret smoke, so not the nicest of ambiance. Some bottle for sale to go. Okies service and prices.“

“Big place, quite modern, sone, brickwalls, wood, metal. Big bar. Inside seating and kitchen was closed due to a big party at our viist. Had a seat outside in nice patio along the city walls and overlooking a nice park and the river - Sadly came with a fair bit of cigaret smoke. Tank pilsner Urquell and Kozel dark on tap, nice quality. Fast service and fair prices.“

“Classic Czech bar / restuarant, small room with a few communal tables, bar in the back, wood and brick walls. A few smaller tables outside aswell. 3 beers on tap, Krumlov / Eggenberg, fine quality of beers. Cheap prices compared to other places in the very touristly town. Well worth a visit.“

“Visited this place on a weekday afternoon around 1500. They were not very busy, so that was nice. I think the tour buses had just left. Beware, Cesky Krumlov is a super touristy city. Swarms of them, and this brewery seems to cater to that. Despite not being busy, service was pretty slow. I had one beer and didn't want to take the time to try to get another. I would recommend skipping this city altogether, but if you do visit the city, this is an alright location to have a meal and a beer. It is a little bit away from things though. About a 15 minute walk from most of the more active streets of the city.“

“Beautiful "nostalgic" pub in the center of touristy Böhmisch Krumau, just a few steps from the "Egon Schiele Art Centrum"(which is located in a former brewery, +1945); the interior of the pivnice is ornated with a large collection of old metal ad boards, often from the first republic, some written in german; four varieties of the local Eggenberg pivovar are available, all of them quite good and served at moderate prices ( remember that Krumlov is kind of a tourist trap!). Some tables on the pavemant serve as "beer-garden". Recommended, one of the few unspoilt places in Krumau...“

“Nice building with greate inside design. The food is great, though the service was not too well. The place is big and it took a while until we got served and the waitress wasn’t really friendly. The however is flawless. Had an Eggenberg Svetly Lezak from tap.“

“Excellent new (opened Q2 2014) place serving some of the best beer in town: Pilsner Urquell from a top-tier tankowy system, along with very acceptable dark Kozel. Good food and service and wallet-friendly prices. I expect it gets pretty busy in summer.“

“IMPORTANT: Despite the address on Latran, you need to enter via Pivovarska. We had a light dinner here, and sampled all the drafts offered (3) and one of the bottles. Food was decent, beers were average, and everything was incredibly cheap. We had four people eat and have a few beers for, like $30. The brewery was closed for tours due to renovations, so I can’t speak to that, but they are normally available. Cesky Krumlov is a cool little town for a day trip, though this brewery isn’t exactly a "destination" type of place. However, if you’re in the area on holiday, the town is worth a stop, and the brewery is probably the best place in town to grab a beer.“

“A historic large brewery building in the town at Cesky Krumlov. It’s nice inside but we sat in the courtyard. It had been an intensive and enjoyable couple of days of rafting on the Vltava and this place was were we signed off. The food was great and I was significantly hungry. The beer is to a good enough standard. It’s a great place to end up.“

“Very small "pivnice/hospoda" in touristy Cesky Krumlov. A little off the beaten path; and also a small hotel. Main room has loads of traditional Czech pub ambiance, also small patio outside. Serve local Eggenberg beer; try the "yeast lager" kvasnicove style. Visited twice (2009 and 2012) . Had apps but not full meal; food was solid old school Czech stuff.“

“Good food, but a very tourists place. Anyway, if you have some time and you are nearby - go visit this brewery, there are a lot of places and a lot of Eggenberg beer, which is not really awesome, but always fresh.“

“We did not get to do a tour of the adjacent brewery, we just had a beer and a snack at the Formanka, where we were the only guests at 6 p.m. in the evening. Very high ceilings and a little dark, but cozy enough. Certainly a good place to try their beers on tap, among them a kvasnicový ležák, that are also incredibly cheap. Cannot say much about the quality of the coooked meals - our cheese and bread were fine though. We had some trouble accessing the place: starting in Latrán street, follow Pivovarská street to the end (Nové Město street only leads to a closed gate).“

“first of all, everything in the area s super cheap and great value. We had a private tour of the btewery, which unfortunately was not brewing at the time. Afterwards, complimentary beer at the brewery restaurant. Not so great food, but the eggenberg dark and light beer are really good, especially unfiltered. If you have a week in prague, definitely come to Cesky Krumlov and to the brewery!“

“This charming rustic and very old brewery has a small beer garden that contrasts greatly with the rest of the town where tourists are legion. Here, expect to find local workers that like to down a couple of pints after a hard day of work. The beer could not be fresher. While quite simple, 4-5 beers are offered, the surrounding air is fresh, the beer is bright and the spot is peaceful. A nice drinking experience and some of the pints I’ve drank the fastest in Czech Republic: a good sign I suppose. Despite speaking no English, I appreciated the barman coming to my table and gesturing me a "last call" sign so I can get a last beer as the sun slowly left the sky.“

“Indifferent service in the Formaka/Hospoda; but beers and atmosphere were authentic and only locals were there. Quite cheap compared with the touristy places in the center of town. Did not try the food; but the sausages being grilled over an open wood fire out front smelled wonderful. 2nd Best place to drink in Cesky.“

“We stopped by for a beer in the afternoon. It was crowded and we didn’t stay for lunch, though the menu looked good. The kvasnicovy (yeast) lager was excellent. Friendly service, and that was before the manager spotted us reading the CAMRA Good Beer Guide to Prague & Czech Rep., came over to read the Eggenberg entry, and then gave us our beers for free!“

“Formanka: High ceilings, but nevertheless a cozy Hospoda with four, well kept, different brews on tap plus the average crappy czech food. Very cheap compared to the other quite touristy pubs in town. Worth a visit........“

“A bit remote compared to the centre of Cesky Krumlov, but fair enough. A small shop outside, selling their bottled beers mugs and t-shirts. Impressive building when we walk inside, high ceiling, charc-white walls. The restaurant was cozy (albeit a little empty when we were there), and they didn’t have their unfiltered on :o( Food though was very cheap and quite frankly, very good. We also enjoyed their two tap beers.“

“When I visited the restaurant was closed, only the Formanka was open (smaller restaurant next to the main restaurant). Extremely unfriendly and unhelpful waitors, I’ve never seen anything like that before. Although there were several free tables without reservations inside and outside the waitors refused to serve us lunch and behaved in such an unfriendly manner, which I’ve never seen anywhere before. Outrageous. Finally I managed to convince the barkeeper to sell me a glass of kvasnicové pivo (unfiltered lager only available here), which was lovelly. The food looked nice as well, but I didn’t get any. If you just want to try their beers try the cellar of the restaurant. There is a little pivnice with drinking locals and a very friendly woman serving good beer and selling sets with 4 different bottled Eggenberg beers. After returning home I complained to the managment, they answered immediately and apologised for the behaviour of their staff, so obviously it is not meant like that. The place is definitely woth a visit, as it is very hard to find the complete sortiment of their lovelly beers anywhere else.“

“I really liked this place. I thought Cesky Krumlov would be a bit of a dead loss beerwise, but was very happy to find it had a local brewery. Never got to do a brewery tour or eat in the restaurant for assorted reasons, but we drank the beers in the brewery bar and a bunch of other places in town. Place is pretty typical old-style Czech, which means it’s a cool place to drink. There was some kind of bizarre martial art-street fighting on the TV which impressed an immature mind such as my own. I’ve gotta say I’m really surprised the beers rate so low on this site. The 10% was pretty forgettable, but the tmavy and kvasnice (just the unfiltered version of the svetly I guess) were both right up there amongst the best Czech stuff I thought. Awesome town, pretty awesome brewery.“

“Huge, old brewery from the 15th century with an adjoining restaurant, equally as enormous and impressive. There is also a stand by the brewery gate which serves the beers on tap in summer, with paprika sausages or fries. The brewery tour is very interesting as you get to walk through the 200 to 500 year-old buildings which are all still used today. Cleanliness inside is not always the law, so it is quite interesting to drink the results of this engraved "house character". Of course, the beers are variable because of this. We toured when the brewer was actually at work, so it was to see the whole machinery running. The beers are good, the svetlé being especially tasty if the hops are bursting and sweaty, which they sometimes aren’t. The 2 vycepnis though weren’t of any interest to my tastes.“
