60 /100 55 CHURCH LANE
“Very much in the low-rise semi-detached suburbia of Culcheth in the far north of Cheshire, however like the Parish church it sits next to this is an older brick building than most of the very 20th century conurbation that surrounds in, and stands out for it. The inside is traditional and comfortable with a long bar that immediately faces you when you enter. You can sit at the bar or choose one of the small tables that line the inside front wall of the pub. At the far right of the pub is the restaurant section, which extends around to the rear of the building where a beer garden can be found. The food area isn’t that much different in style to the main drinking area as it’s an extension of the warming carpet and soft furnished furniture. The front of the building includes a few picnic tables and a car park big enough for half a dozen vehicles. There’s three ale pumps here and all regularly rotate with both micro and macro options available throughout the year. Dogs are allowed in here too which is the reason I chose to visit this place on the drive home.“
