60 /100 401 RAILROAD ST Located in an old bank, not to far off I-80. A few chairs at the bar. Plenty of seating. 6 House beers and 4 guest taps. Flights of 4 ($14). Some small food options. Prices were on the high side.
Beer was decent. A few dart machines and games at some of the tables.
The only brewery in town, not a must stop but a good place to stretch your legs and relax for a few minutes. |
62 /100 Matties Taphouse & Grill (Bar) 2535 MOUNTAIN CITY HWY They are closing the brewery today (5/20/16) The Restaurant and bar are still open This is 3 places in one. Up front is a small restaurant with an old cafe feel. In back is an bar, gaming consoles on the bar. Don’t think I’d sit in here for a beer. Next is in the brewery, here is where I’d like to be. Must open it for special occasions because nobody was in there during my visit. It has a nice wood bar and a few tables. Good food and service. The beer was average. A good place to stop if you’re driving though, but not a destination place. |
72 /100 Stray Dog Pub and Cafe (Bar) 374 5TH STREET A nice old bar with a few TV’s. The bartender was very friendly and helpful. I didn’t have anything to eat, just a few beers. 14 taps, NO BMC! Taps were SN, New Belgium, Guinness, a few Nevada beers and Widmer. They had a cooler that had a decent selection. Not many places to stop between SLC and Reno, now you can find one on RB. |
