“Called here twice in two days during a short stay in the northern Cotswolds. Super friendly welcome from the lone bar person and the locals alike. The Tileys beers (brewed on site) all seemed very high quality, and there’s a very good selection of cider on tap too. The bottle menu demands perusal as they offer Mills and Oliver’s Cider alongside other high end bevs. These are also available to take away. They had a chef shortage but cheese and ham sandwiches on the bar helped to make up for that. Dog friendly and really comfortable place to drink quality beer. Couldn’t ask for much more.“

“Multi room village pub with two benches in front and a very nice garden in the back. Traditional wooden interior. Good selection of cask ales and ciders. Also quite interesting bottles list, they did not have Mills so we went for some interesting cider. On a beautiful day garden is beautiful. The place seemed popular with the locals, one of them even came on a horse. One of the better pubs on our heritage pub road trip.“

“Village location in lovely Gloucestershire countryside, it's about 15 minutes drive from the M5 motorway. Multi award winning, friendly two room pub with a woodburner stove keeping the chill at bay. 5 cask and 5 keg lines including a number of Tiley's beers, which are brewed out the back of the pub. Most of the guest beers were local to the area“

“Salutation is a community pub in the small village of Ham, in the picturesque Gloucestershire countryside. We heard it had a good cider selection so made the 20 min detour off the M5 en route to Bristol. This place has clearly been the village watering hole for a good few hundred years, and quite a few locals seemed to be enjoying the sunshine outside. On entering it unfortunately seemed closed to the public with lights off due to a nasty fly infestation on the bartop, pumps and walls, though you still had to order there. As I perused the cider board the landlord let out a huge gut-wrenching burp, quite proud, like a teenager on a park bench. Any other place and I would've walked straight out. But I ordered some ciders and sat outside. Apparently there is a pizza oven that I assume is in operation on weekends. Ale-wise expect about 5 cask, a few of their own plus on our visit was Siren and Electric Bear. Not exactly a National Pub of the year, as they were in 2014, but a pleasant stop if remaining outside.“

“Really nice pub in the village of Ham, and not far from the M5. Not surprised this place has won loads of CAMRA awards. The bar has two smaller rooms and a large room at the back with what looked like a bowl alley. Beer selection included there own beers on cask and keg, plus other local beers, and a decent cider selection. Food was really good, and simple. Very well worth a visit“

“CAMRA 2014 best pub in the UK, sited on the outskirts of Berkeley. Beer range covers five frequently changing real ales from the likes of Cotswold Spring, Bristol Beer Factory, Severn Vale and Newmans, plus up to 8 real ciders with the usual industrial keg stuff. Service was very friendly and the locals were welcoming. An excellent example of a successful community pub which deserves its title of CAMRA South West pub of the year 2010. UPDATE August 2013: landlord retired but his replacements have carried on the good work. Beer range is now a bit more adventurous - Arbor and Moor make an appearance, and more ciders are on offer. Still very good. September 2014: awarded South west region CAMRA pub of the year again.“
