62 /100 Bell, Hempton (Bar) 24 THE GREEN Stopped in around lunchtime, no food here, just a drinking man's pub in a tiny farming village just outside Fakenham, in fact you could walk there easily via the back roads. Long and narrow, with what looks like it used to be a dining area on one end with a serving bar near the entrance; the bar had its own entrance with barstools and bar tables.
Four cask ales on, three from East Anglia and none of them Greene King. One was from the closest local brewery, Barsham, and was very tasty and in excellent condition.
Landlord and locals were very friendly and welcoming. Nice place to while away some time. |
