“Set behind its own car park from the main commercial road through Llanberis, this is some sort of British version of the alpine mountain lodge - makeshift and slightly rundown looking. It does however work with a bar in the main front facing room that attracts locals for the various macro beers on offer or the live sport they show. There was a couple of cask ales available on my visit, one a local, one a well-known Cornish brew. There's a couple of other rooms also facing out of the front of the building and a patio area which was full of young people taking advantage of the cheap filling food served here. It's not a great option, but it is AN option in this tourist heavy town at the foot of Mount Snowdon (which I climbed back in 2006!).“

“Pub and bunkhouse located on Llanberis high street. While walking through the town on my way to Snowdon I noted the pub as a likely contender for my post-Snowdon pint, so made a beeline once I’d returned a few hours later. There’s a big car park out the front, with a patio containing a large amount of picnic tables. Clearly this place gets busy in peak times but seemed quieter on this Monday evening. There are three cask lines (two Welsh, one Doom Bar) with a number of macro lagers, some uninteresting bottles in the fridge, although there is hoegaarden. In any other town I wouldn’t necessarily add due to limited selection, but it seems this is the best in Llanberis and the beers were in very good condition. Also, food is pretty good. I got a chili, my partner had some very nice soup and crusty bread. A perfect stop to refuel after Snowdon.“
