“Wilson Brewing is located about 7km west of the centre of Albany so you need your own (or a mate’s) transport to visit. The initial view is uninspiring however once you get past the carpark you enter via a front garden into what is a glorified shed that has a local bar atmosphere – it’s as if you were at a mate’s place having a few down the back shed! It has a local bar set-up with pool tables, a TV screen and live music most days and as well as posters of their own brews along the corrugated iron walls there are nautical-themed pieces by local artists. Indoors are tables and chairs, trestle tables and lounge seats while outside are wooden picnic-style tables and chairs. The venue is family- and pet-friendly. Food-wise a local van offers tasty bar-snacks each day. There are seven taps pouring the core range and these are good value at around $5/285ml with cans at about $5 each are available only as takeaway. Local wine and house spirits are also on the drinks menu. The set-up appeals to the locals and if you happen to be in the area then visit and relax with a Wilson’s beer.“
