56 /100 OSTRAVICE 449 Visited in Autumn 2018. The setting in the Eastern Moravian part of the Carpathians is one of the advantages of this brewery - a trip to the nearby village Stare Hamry and the lake is worthwhile. As for the brewery, it is in a small village in a valley and doesn't sport any enticing views from its grounds. It's biggish for a microbrewery in this region and seems to be often frequented by cyclists. The inside is a rather typical, if somewhat large Czech hospudka, serving sturdy Czech food of limited aesthetical appeal and rather disappointing beers, given the reputation this brewery used to have a couple years ago. Something seemed to have been wrong with the onsite dispensing system, as the beers I bought for takeaway were free from a rampant mustiness pervading their draught offerings. All in all I'd say this one is a brewery for completists and even if you are roaming the mountains nearby, there are a couple more worthwhile breweries in the near vicinity. |
66 /100 OSTRAVICE 449 One of the better breweries in this region. To compliment their beers (6 at the time of my visit) they have fantastic local cheese varieties - perfect pairing! |
