80 /100 Mikkeller Paris (Bar) 32 RUE DE ROCHECHOUART Stumbled on this unexpectedly on the walk back to our hotel. Close to the excellent La Binouze which is further up. This is perhaps the smallest bar I've ever been in, certainly seemed a squeeze even with 3 others in here. 20 taps devoted almost entirely to Mikkeller, save for a few from Siren, Sainte Cru and a hoppy Breton cider. One Baghaven which was 7.5 euros for 12.5cl! Barman suggested I had a generous taster first as was quite acidic and sour, so that was fine for me. A couple of tables downstairs, space to perch at the bar, but otherwise cannot see more than 15 people fitting in here (just seen the review below mentioning a third floor but cannot recall seeing access to it). Upright fridge with some Mikkeller cans. I imagine some stand outside in warmer months. Quite liked the place in a cramped Parisian way. |
94 /100 La Binouze Rochechouart (Beer Store) 72 RUE DE ROCHECHOUART We came here a couple of times during our brief stay in Paris, once after a gig at Elysee Montmartre. A really nice spot with a great, relaxed vibe and excellent range of beer. 12 taps that covered all bases - Parisian / wider French breweries, pilsner, spot-on haze, BA imperial stout, US wild, DIPA, even a Vault City desert sour and a Polly's IPA. 12.5cl (gallopin) starting from 2 / 2.5 to 4.5 euros. But it's the wall of cans / bottles that really impresses. Very well curated range, covering a wide range of breweries US and Europe, great wild / lambic selection. There's about 4 fridges and you're welcome to choose yourself. Prices quite keen, but didn't put off many here. Some hot sauce. Nice unpretentious, relaxed feel here and quite buzzing on the Monday night at 11pm. Definitely up there as one of our favourite bars in Paris. |
64 /100 Frog Hop House (Bar) 10 RUE DES CAPUCINES Visited later afternoon on a Wednesday. Located near Place Vendome, with a few small tables out front, and a dark wood English / Irish pub feel. Plenty of seating inside at tables, or at the bard. Beer selection is 9 house beers, one of which was on nitro. Service was prompt and friendly, and did a decent job describing the beers. Food available, and seemed to be more of the draw for folks than the beer. Fulfilled my need to visit a beer place while in Paris. (Just ok) I only use the total score, not the component parts. |
60 /100 Le Vieux Chêne (Bar) 69 RUE MOUFFETARD Just south of the pedestrian street that leads to Le Chouffe and Breweberry. This is a dimly lit rockers music style bar with the service area down its left of a deepish room, with seats down the right or bar stools if you prefer. The beer focus is very good Belgian ales, although anyone familiar with brews from this country are unlikely to found something unknown here. |
64 /100 La Taverne des Korrigans (Bar) 42 RUE CARDINAL LEMOINE Rock and bikers type bar with suitable dark or black painted colours and fixtures in its different drinking areas. They also have a small outdoor area at the front, which I couldn't get on to as this was the go-to place on a hot June day - even with extra stools placed placed on the pavement beyond their own deck limit. Plenty of craft choices when you take into account their bottle and can additions here. |
80 /100 Bières Cultes Cardinal (Beer Store) 44 RUE DES BOULANGERS Solid selection of local and beyond, Belgian too, craft just around the corner from Taverne Korrigans. Tables and chairs available inside and out if you prefer to sample their taps or selection on site. |
56 /100 Falstaff (Bastille) (Bar) 10/12, PLACE DE LA BASTILLE Facing the Bastille monument on its north side amongst a collection of cafés serving all kinds of food and drink, it's a classic Parisian sight and place to indulge in Parisian life, albeit probably with more tourists than locals in this traffic heavy area. They have craft beer here, not much, and all from the same brewery, but as an out of town visitor I was happy enough with this. |
84 /100 Brewberry Bar (Bar) 11 RUE DU POT DE FER Nette kleine Craftbeer Bar mit peruanischem leckeren Essen. Ca 20 Tsps, fast alles französische und belgische Craftbiere. 3er Flight für 10€. Lohnt den Besuch |
80 /100 Bootlegger (Beer Store) 82, RUE DE L’OUEST / 14, RUE CROCE-SPINELLI I stopped in here on my last afternoon in Paris, the Olympics in full swing. An easy place to find from my nearby hotel, I liked the vibe as soon as I stepped in. The shelves were well organized, mostly by country. I like Belgian ales first and foremost and they had a substantial spread of them, unfortunately they were mostly popular beers I had tasted previously. I wound up with a couple of interesting barley wines, a French Imperial Stout (go figure) and a snifter from a Belgian brewery that my daughter had tasted from on our trip to Bruges last year that I will surprise her with. Not a big haul but I am pleased. The fellow and the young lady handling the store were very friendly and helpful, language was a bit of an issue, but we worked through that. A good experience all the way around. |
90 /100 16 BD JULES FERRY Was für einnfunky Laden! Bei mir war gerade Drag Show! Der Laden ist insgesamt queer aufgestellt. Dazu acht eigene Taps. Alle meine Biere von top Qualität, ua ein Lichtenhainer, wow!! Besuch ist Pflicht. Bisher meine mit Abstand beste Station in Paris! Weiter so!! |
82 /100 35 RUE DES GRANDS CHAMPS Taproom + Boulderhalle + Restaurant?! Mal was anderes. 5 eigene Biere vom Fass und Flaschen. Dazu interessante Limo/Cola. Lohnt den Besuch |
68 /100 9 RUE DE LA BASTILLE Just off the main bustle of the Bastille area on its west side with seats outside during good weather allowing you to take in the atmosphere, or as they serve food also dine. Drinks are their own with 11 Frog beers available on tap, one being alcohol free. High stool seating in the front bar area with more standard tables in the cosier other sections. |
58 /100 Le Mayflower (Bar) 49 RUE DESCARTES Corner pub looking very much like a typical old 20th century English design, although marketing itself as an Irish pub, and you can get Guinness and Magners here in a mostly dark wood setting. The beers of interest are all marked up in over a half a dozen styles as they all come from the same brasserie so it's possible to go through most of their suppliers selection if you have a few hours spare. |
72 /100 Brewberry Bar (Bar) 11 RUE DU POT DE FER On the same small pedestrian street as the Chouffe bar, but bigger, offering up a similar dimly lit atmosphere, and is s better option if you want a bit more variety in your selections. The brews are immediately upon you as you enter, with the bar occupying the left part of the ground floor room. Locally produced craft should be available. |
62 /100 Le Chouff’bar (Bar) 16 RUE DU POT DE FER Small side street bar almost opposite Brewberry, with service down the left with seating against it and down the right wall. Some extra seats might be outside on the pedestrian area. Expect music, and as the name suggests a selection of Chouffe brews, and perhaps a couple of other Belgian options to enjoy in its dimly lit atmosphere. |
72 /100 Teddy’s Bar (Bar) 3 RUE THOUIN Almost opposite the Mayflower pub, this is a cosy little pub style bar, small with leopard skin wallpaper in the rear part of its open plan space. It has high stool tables and long leather seating against the wall facing the bar. The venue does all manner of drinks, but 10 craft lines including a craft cider give a fair choice in this aspect. A couple of seats are put outside on the street if the weather is good enough. |
62 /100 Restaurant Graindorge (Restaurant) 15, RUE DE L’ARC DE TRIOMPHE Our last night in Paris we stopped at this cafe for a meal outside to see the world go by as we ate. Had a bottle of a French brown ale. It was ok on a hot day. Nice time, food was good. |
26 /100 Bokawa (Grocery Store) 94 BD SÉRURIER While walking about Paris we stopped in to pickup some munchies and I grabbed a can of beer. It was warm, so brought back to room and put in fridge for a bit. Still warm when drank. Oh, small grocery store, 20 feet wide but 100 feet deep. Hard alcohol in fridges but not beer?? |
82 /100 Hoppy Corner (Bar) 34 RUE DES PETITS CARREAUX Small bar centrally located with great bars and restaurants around. Very nice service! 15 taps mostly french. Good bar food!. A few cans and bottles. Very much worth a stop and then going to Ivresse bar across the street for some wine. |
76 /100 La Fine Mousse (Bar) 6 AVENUE JEAN AICARD I went in 2018 and it was a great beer bar. Today 18/April/2024 it was closed and a sign on door said it was closed yesterday. Very strange.... |
70 /100 47BIS RUE BICHAT Interesting little place with several interesting taps. Does remind me of a Brewdog without the fridges. |
50 /100 Gush ! (Bar) 288 RUE DES PYRÉNÉES Small place. Primarily 12 taps of beers that are local and unique but mediocre. Some big bottles. |
82 /100 La Fine Mousse (Bar) 6 AVENUE JEAN AICARD Smallish bar but not packed on a Wednesday night. Great selection of taps (20) and extensive bottle list with some top Lambics/gueuze. A must stop. |
52 /100 L'intrépide bar (Bar) 37 RUE PIERRE FONTAINE A bar selling only beers from Demory Paris (I assume it's linked to the brewery in some way?). It's located on a slightly dodgy looking street off of the proudly disreputable Boulevard de Clichy, just a few steps from Blanche metro station and the Brussels Beer Project bar. Inside it's smallish, narrow and a bit gloomy, although it's enlived by an impressive mural at the far end. There's seating for 20-30 people and about 12 taps of Demory brews. The barman seemed disinterested, verging on rude. He said they no longer did beer flights as it was too much work. Had one dreadful and one average beer, but the rather miserable atmosphere in the place made me want to leave pretty quickly. Overall a big disappointment, especially compared to the wonderful Patoche bar I'd been to the previous day. Nevertheless if you're doing a Montmartre crawl, you'll probably include this as it's so close to the aforementioned Patoche, along with BBP Pigalle, Le Bar Fondamental and La P'tite Mousse. |
82 /100 La ruée vers l’orge (Beer Store) 6 RUE DES FONTAINES DU TEMPLE Beer store with two taps. There is a cave area below apparently, we sat in annexed room, leather chairs, beer barrels, emailed signs, barrel, cozy, could have used some heating in the winter. Selection seems to change daily, we got a freshly new printed menu for that day, amazing in an age of QR codes, very welcoming and great service. Focus is more foreign modern craft beer, not much French but an impressive selection from Italy, Spain, Scandinavia etc. the sour selection is especially impressive with beers with vegetables, herbs, spices of all kinds. Curious pastry stouts and enough cool labels to think that might be deciding factor to purchase, definitely worth checking out. |
78 /100 16 BD JULES FERRY By the canal, they make 30 hectoliters if I remember correctly, brewing installation looks big, they consider themselves a small brewer. I think they would be shocked seeing some Belgian breweries. More functional, dark, brick, new wood fixtures. They do drag themed events which would be cool to visit. Half a dozen or so beers on tap, some with surprising ingredients like basil and rosemary. The rosemary sour that I had was basic in kettle sour department, but the amount of rosemary made it amazing, hoppy beer was decent. Certainly, worth a visit and combinable with other places. |
92 /100 64 RUE DE CHARONNE Gorgeous bright, light with almost minimalistic looking fixtures, modern, good lighting, great looking bar and very friendly service. Brewing installation visible behind glass, behind the bar. Lively bar with relaxed atmosphere and the feel of ample space between people even if not necessarily the reality. Dozen or so beers on tap from their brewery which were really high quality, best hoppy beers I had on the trip plus some classical styles thrown in. Half a dozen of guest taps, most of them from Sacrilège who make great beer, awesome place. |
78 /100 90 BOULEVARD DE MENILMONTANT Visited late in the evening so I could only get one beer unfortunately. Graffiti like flashy painting on the side, slightly rundown. One side they were projecting a film noir on the wall, other side a guy sat there in a suit and hat, looking like he had just popped out of the film noir, wild. About 8 beers or so on tap, smaller pours available, most beers seemed theirs, some hoppy and some wacky ingredients. Got a Sichuan sour which was a tad too aggressive but nice. Would have tried something more if I had the time. |
92 /100 La Robe et La Mousse (Bar) 3 RUE MONSIEUR LE PRINCE Deserted when visiting a bit after opening time. Long bar that goes deep with cork and dark green look, very stylish, elevated, wine bar like. Glass up, lightning, the whole works, well placed coat hangers, cave area downstairs which did have low moldy / cave smell. Wines available too. The beer selection was one of the more interesting that I have seen with more of a fruit / sour focus, enhancing the wine vibe. Beers were in good condition saison on tap, De Ranke, great Yuzu saison, peach sour, Fauve and a Kernel stout. Very classy place, advertising their cheese platters, I was impressed with the selection and look. |
86 /100 La Binouze Rochechouart (Beer Store) 72 RUE DE ROCHECHOUART On our first attempt we were a bit too early (15 minutes or so past opening). I came back on a different day in the evening. Beer store with lots of windows, space, bottles and cans of a wide range and selection, the hoppy stuff is chilled, wine, hot sauce and a few, counter for purchases. Upfront there is also bit of a bar area. 12 beers on tap, mix of the French craft I have seen elsewhere and UK stuff, Vault City, Cloudwater, Verdant etc. Comparable prices to elsewhere, chill place, good choice. Definitely recommended. |
76 /100 47BIS RUE BICHAT Familiar interior if you have been to another BBP venue. Like a grimier more industrial BrewDog almost in a way. Fully packed, corner bar. 25 taps with almost all of them being BBP, about half fixed and half rotating with the rotating selection being tad less exciting than possible for them. Ambiance was there. Only one guest, Piggy smoked lager, slightly elevated prices. BBP usually has some solid beers, rarely great. Fun place. |
76 /100 BBP Pigalle (Bar) 1 RUE DE BRUXELLES Familiar interior and in line with other BBP places. Visited closer to closing time, Moulin Rouge is just across the street. Less crowd did provide a different feeling compared to the other BBP place, felt slightly tired but might have been also a state of time. Beers were almost all BBP with almost no guests, comparable tap selection to the other venue, good cross section of their beers and a few specials, I had a Cider Lambiek. Some beers might be a bit pricey. BBP usually has a few solid and fun beers, not a bad stop. |
94 /100 La Cidrerie (Bar) 51 QUAI DE VALMY Lovely cider place located by the canal, wood and fake brick and foliage behind the bar. Bottles displayed, some to drink or to go, some to just drink in or to show. 8 ciders on tap, they do flights of 4. Wound up trying 5 ciders on tap, all vastly different profiles, rustic to sour, fruity, juicy etc. to ice dicer. Ciders from many countries, not just choice and scope, all ciders I tried were of exceptional quality, curation is just wonderful. There is food, all cider is served with explanation and they’re passionate about the cider which they serve, prices are good. Amazing place. |
94 /100 Liquiderie (Bar) (Bar) 7 RUE DE LA PRÉSENTATION Probably the best selection that I saw in Paris. Corner bar with metallic, wood and leather touches, fully packed, large bar with lots of places. Feels more like a wine bar than a beer bar despite the big beer selection but it really works. Lovely tap installation, well done. 14 taps of beer, French (O’Clock, Piggy, Hoppy Road) plus the likes of Deya, Emperor’s Brewing and cool, rarer ones like Chien Bleu and Cyclic. All really good condition, 3 different pour sizes available for most beers. 6 taps of wine, all French I think? Tried an orange wine which was amazing. Interesting bottle selection too, Tilquin, Cantillon, 3 Fonteinen etc. plus loads more wine, cheeses, home made fermted vegetables (didn’t try the food), very impressive, amazing selection. Very cool place, feels like the wine world doing the beer world properly. |
80 /100 Bodoma (Beer Store) 15 RUE DE L ASILE POPINCOURT Modern and slick interior, nicely done, comfy to sit. About 8 taps and a range of bottles and cans, focus is refreshingly classic. Lots of foreign beers with the likes of Arbor, Ayinger, Buxton, Polly’s, Schlenkerla, UK cider even, focus is more class UK & German beers. Quite something different and a really good selection of classic and modern craft veering more towards standards. Friendly service, you got to love a craft beer place going their own direction these days. |
82 /100 Hop Malt Market (Grocery Store) 79 RUE SAINT-MAUR Cool place, it’s a night shop basically or rather a beer store that really looks like one and it’s all beer. Right next to BAPBAP taproom. Big selection, fridged and not, the fridge part wasn’t that cold, it was chilly in the shop in general. Cash only I presume. The owner sang the ingredients of my beer briefly to me, perfect service. Hoppy stuff could be a bit fresher but it’s just as fresh as elsewhere in Paris in general. Cool stuff. Very wide selection, agreeable prices, great stuff. |
84 /100 BEER Paris (Beer Store) 3 RUE DE LA FORGE ROYALE Pretty cool place, living room vibe, small cozy, friendly people, 4 taps, one French, Polish and Italian craft too. Bottles and cans on the right, fridges full of bright cans of hoppy beer. Nice selection, hoppy stuff can be a few months old in cans, which is not an issue unique to this bar but common in Paris it seems. Bottled and canned selection is wide going all over Europe but some USA beers too in many styles. Unpretentious whilst being Untappd verified with a big selection to choose where everyone is bound to find new stuff. |
74 /100 La P’tite Mousse (Beer Store) 29 RUE DE DOUAI Interesting place, very much a neighborhood bar. Some people living next door drinking here, looks like someone’s living room also. Two spots at the bar, couches etc. around two large tables otherwise but as the barman said, we’re all family here. Lots of fridges but they were nearly all empty, 2 taps and 10 cans or so to choose from, interesting place to mingle. Appropriately barebones. French craft but also some Arpus and To Øl. |
86 /100 La Fine Mousse (Bar) 6 AVENUE JEAN AICARD Visited late at night – group of locals was chilling and one of them served me my first beer since the barman was down in the basement for quite a while. There is a bit more of a dining and a bar area, it was deserted while I was there. Tap selection had a nice choice of French beers, the imports you can see elsewhere in similar bars Kernel, Cantillon, De Ranke etc. Nothing shocking or exception (this is the highest rated place in Paris – I suppose they were trendsetters and more unique previously than they’re now). Still nice place, fridges, large selection of Cantillon (one fridge – maybe cause for the elevated ratings?) but also 3 Fonteinen etc. as well as a nice selection of cans. Wouldn’t place it that much higher than other place, great place definitely. |
68 /100 32 RUE DES TROIS FRÈRES The place looks a bit rundown and scruffy. Cooling pipes etc. clearly visible, the kit in a corner. Popular venue with some exchange students around. Beers vary in price, some tad pricy, others (odder experiments) a surprisingly solid deal. Tasting flight available. About ten beers on tap, more classic styles and odd spices for a few. Beers weren’t that impressive, rather messy, much in tune with the place. Nothing hugely wrong with the beers, too malty, messy, sweetish, cloying. |
56 /100 79 RUE SAINT MAUR White tiles everywhere, very bright, modern taproom, big sign outside, small, clean. Card only, their system was acting up, going all electronic payment without a solid system is interesting to say the least. Bottles and crowlers available. 8 taps, 4 fixed, 4 rotating. Crowd seemed to be all metalheads but that wasn’t the music playing, more rock, limited seating, mostly standing. It’s a bit unfair to write off a place after one beer, I got their Originale, core range beer and it was gross mess of diacetyl and yeast. I couldn’t bring myself to trying more. Going by review, the issues are not uncommon. |
56 /100 9 RUE DE LA BASTILLE Part of the Frog brewpub chain in Paris. About what I expected, looks very UK in a more basic fashion, Wetherspoons like almost with sports on a TV and Chicken Tikki being on special offer this month. Ginger beer, brown ale, pale ale etc. on tap but also two NA beers with lactose for some reason, less beers on than taps. The beer was doable but not worth the effort. I wanted to check out of these, I had certain expectations and it turned out to be exactly what I expected. |
86 /100 Carburant (Bar) 60 RUE DE LANCRY We found the bar to be quite lively upon visit. All black shelves behind the bar, 12 taps, new it seems but woody, dark, traditional. Varied selection of beers, pils from BAPBAP, De La Senne but also Mont Salève, Kernel, new guard French craft beer and BA Yeti served also in 500 ml. which I did get, prices comparable to elsewhere. A little bit of everything. Busy, good atmosphere, fridges full of cans and got a mescal + chili liqueur shot which was very good. A pleasant place for drinking some pints and hanging around. |
70 /100 Brewdog - Le Marais (Bar) 1 PLACE DE THORIGNY Opens a lot earlier than most bars, which is convenient for sure. Standard hipster industrial BrewDog interior. You could get service in French, not all imported staff I presume? Pizza focused food menu with 2 vegan options. 11 taps of BrewDog (inexplicably listed as cask on their verified Untappd account) and 11 guest taps, more guest taps than usual. BrewDog beers are more focused on classical offerings, guest taps are less French and more international affairs from the likes of Vocation, Dry&Bitter, Weihenstephan etc. Prices are high as usual for guests and BrewDog beers if you notice that most of the prices are for 330 ml. puts and not 500 ml. pours. A very classical BrewDog experience. |
88 /100 Hoppy Corner (Bar) 34 RUE DES PETITS CARREAUX Near a lot of tourist places but totally filled with for a large part French speakers when we got here. Lived in, atmospheric and jampacked, fun and cozy place, slightly rundown. We needed to sit a bit more in the back due to lack of space where sadly the music was weirdly muted, they did turn on it a bit louder later. Atypically rock music, luckily not too bad and not too cliché. The board is near the entrance only which is a bit awkward reading at times. 15 taps with most of them being French (also Whiplash and Garden), good variation in styles and a few breweries we didn’t really see elsewhere. A few I haven’t seen in ages like Craig Allan. This is a really good craft beer bar for proper drinking. |
90 /100 L'Atalante (Bar) 26 QUAI DE LA MARNE Named after the Jean Vigo movie I presume. Great view of the canal if you pick the right viewing point and a terrace, it was far too cold for the latter. The interior is huge, modern, almost a mix of Parisian and Scandinavian. 20 taps including a nice cross-session of popular French craft beers, few international guests like Vault City, Põhjala and Cantillon, kombucha, Czech pilsner and a cider. Surprisingly, 2 cask beers as well! A Kernel Bitter on cask (surprisingly decent condition) and a French sour which went a bit too hard, Nitro tap as well with London Black. Really good selection, half of the place is also an open kitchen, smelled great, if you sit a bit further away, you don’t notice it. Really good, setting, really good selection, okay prices and we managed to get service in French, English and Dutch. Really great place. |
74 /100 41 BIS QUAI DE LA LOIRE Located by the canal in a huge spacious building with a terrace by the water and glass windows. View during sunset was nothing but spectacular. The view alone is worth coming for here. 9 taps available, all of them but one (Jopen) from the brewery. Beers were a bit too tame, almost meant to be too inoffensive, tried 2 different sours and a Bock. Slightly expensive, service at the bar. Upside is they did play most of Beaucoup Fish by Underworld and some techno during our visit, coctails etc. available too, Untappd verified venue, tacos, UK pub food, burgers, cheese plates etc. available, definitely worth it for the view and I quite dug the music choice, shame the beers weren’t slightly more exciting. |
74 /100 Ah La Pompe A Bière (Beer Store) 7TER RUE DUVERGIER Located right next to Brasserie de l'Être which doesn’t sell or serve itself but whose owner was friendly enough to briefly show us around. The shop looks a bit like a warehouse and slightly chilly, selection is a bit more traditional with lots of Belgian and German classics, longer established French, UK breweries, Hitachino etc. Whilst some more modern breweries like Kinnegard are available, the shop seems to hark back to an older era. Okay prices, friendly service, and a shelf full of Brasserie de l'Être beers. 4 taps, Kwak (yikes), some industrial lager it seemed and luckily Être which makes decent, classical albeit not stellar beer. Store seemed to belong bit to an older era, not going along with the hype is great but it seemed a lot of space was filled up with less rewarding, bit more macro brands. |
