“'Gastro Pub' on the edge of the village/town, it's a pub building housing a restaurant, not really equipped for drinkers - sign at the door advises you to wait for a member of staff to approach you! Inside it's all set up for dining, nicely appointed in a country style and the bar has a fair offering with 5 handpulls (3 in operation on my midweek visit): 2 local beers and a national brand, alongside a variety of national/international lagers/stouts/ciders on keg. Not a place for the beer ticker but for the traveller you may find a new Shropshire rate, and I was actually lucky to get a new BrewDog rate. Food was good so it met the requirements of my visit.“

“I've only eaten here so can't give a fair beer review, but the food was delicious and fairly priced. Nice, clean, tidy, friendly, ticks all the boxes.“

“Visited with the wife and six friends for a evening meal and drinks on Monday 13th May 2019. Nice place, food good, service slow but we were in no hurry. Modern design with food being the main draw, although some locals were just drinking at the bar. Walls adored with a strange unconnected selection of random pictures, paintings and framed newspaper articles. Greene King beers dominated the hand-pulls although I was pleased to see beers from Rowton and Hobson's (both Shropshire breweries) also; six cask beers in all, although two went off while we were in there and only one was replaced. Didn't check out the keg/lager lines or bottle selection.“

“Visited on 12th June 2016. Large modern country pub, 3 large rooms focused on food (certainly on a Sunday). Place was pretty busy with families enjoying the Sunday dinner service. Decor was trying to make a huge modern bar look cosy and didn’t quite make it. Beer range was decent for this sort of pub, 5 handpulls with 3 local beers and Old Speckled Hen. Took a picture of the pumpclip to add to Rb of a new Cottage beer (just to keep Leighton happy - such a demanding admin!) and the barman followed me with another Cottage pumpclip and then had a chat about the beer policy which is to source guests from the local area plus other favourites and other beers that head that way, hence the Cottage beer. Purple Moose and the 20 local Shropshire brews mentioned. Decent place and if you want Sunday lunch in deepest Shropshire (between Telford and Shrewsbury) then this isn’t a bad stop.“
