60 /100 UNIT 17, NOVA BUILDING 77 BUCKINGHAM PALACE ROAD Occupying a commercial unit in a new build between Buckingham Palace and Victoria Station, it has a main road setting with the action taking place below ground level. It's first and foremost a wine drinking venue, which is fairly obvious with its well laid out plan of wines on shelving throughout. Craft beer is available with several lines and some good choices to be had. Perhaps the downside here is the faff of the card system and self pouring rigmarole in getting a drink, whatever tap tipple you decide here. |
50 /100 Market Hall Victoria (Restaurant) 191 VICTORIA ST Opposite Victoria station across the bus stops, this is a multi-floored street food hall with plenty of selection, albeit catering for a mostly tourist clientele. There's two bars run by the same people across two floors, but not a lot of thought has been put into the selection with basically several Camden Town keg regulars being offered up and possibly some other well known craft keg. |
56 /100 Phoenix (Bar) 14 PALACE STREET Brick pub just off the main road between Buckingham Palace and Victoria Station. Traditional wood heavy open plan venue run by Young's Brewery with their ales and Beavertown on keg. Currently painted dark green as a theme and is cosy and welcoming enough. Served food and has a roof terrace. |
52 /100 39-41 PALACE STREET Tiny backstreet Shepherd Neame concern on the same road as the Phoenix, which is visible up the street. It's quaint and cosy with a low ceiling and a small service area with three of the Kent brewer's cask available - one of which was their latest special on my visit. |
60 /100 Victoria Station (JDW) (Bar) UNIT 5 (1ST FLOOR ABOVE WHSMITH), VICTORIA STATION CONCOURSE Visited many times over the years and most recently during the Spring Spoons beer fest March 2023 - found inside Victoria station itself on the first floor via stairs/escalator this place can be pretty busy depending on when you visit so service can be a little slow at those times as expected. Has the usual spoons set up in regard to food/drinks, and managed to pick up a couple of fest ticks I needed. Not a destination spoons but ok place to maybe tick a few beers while waiting for your train. |
60 /100 99 BUCKINGHAM PALACE ROAD Visited a couple of times. This easy-to-find pub, just across the street from Victoria Station, offered me no new ticks the last time I visited, but when a pub has cask Timothy Taylor's in perfect nick (and also decent food), I don't complain. |
68 /100 Victoria Station (JDW) (Bar) UNIT 5 (1ST FLOOR ABOVE WHSMITH), VICTORIA STATION CONCOURSE Decent enough pub to grab a pint while waiting for the train |
54 /100 Willow Walk (JDW) (Bar) 25 WILTON ROAD, VICTORIA Typical Wetherspoons joint near Victoria station. Nothing really interesting on tap or in the fridges. Quite clean, good service. |
62 /100 Market Hall Victoria (Restaurant) 191 VICTORIA ST This is a market hall just outside Victoria Train Station
At the bus station
Lots of restaurant here. You will find a bar to the right when you enter
They have a decent beer selection
On a sunny day I recommend that you enjoy your beer at the roof terrace
|
60 /100 99 BUCKINGHAM PALACE ROAD Nice cosy traditional English pub just outside Victoria Train Station
At the bus station
Good food and a decent beer selection
|
60 /100 Willow Walk (JDW) (Bar) 25 WILTON ROAD, VICTORIA Just another large Spoon
Nothing wrong with that
Always possible to find something and ok food
But nothing to recommend either
Very close to Victoria Train Station in London
But you will find a spoon inside the Train Station as well |
62 /100 Victoria Station (JDW) (Bar) UNIT 5 (1ST FLOOR ABOVE WHSMITH), VICTORIA STATION CONCOURSE Much better than the Willow walk pub, more brighter, not as much selection, but better service. |
60 /100 Willow Walk (JDW) (Bar) 25 WILTON ROAD, VICTORIA Visit on a Tuesday evening, busy but not crowded, the decor and furniture looked tired, just another spoons pub. |
54 /100 Victoria Station (JDW) (Bar) UNIT 5 (1ST FLOOR ABOVE WHSMITH), VICTORIA STATION CONCOURSE Visited 21.10.18. Located above the WH Smith bookshop. Busy during a Thursday evening. Six cask pumps with ales from a selection of large and small breweries - all served with sparklers <3. Several of the ales were new to me. Also several taps of keg beer. They also do food. |
62 /100 Jugged Hare (Fullers) (Bar) 172 VAUXHALL BRIDGE ROAD Pleasant traditional Fullers pub a few minutes walk towards Vauxhall Bridge from Victoria Station. It faces into the main road, although I entered through a rear door where there's also a small garden area. A central tiled area in front of the bar can be looked down upon from an upper level. The bar serves mainly Fullers offerings in cask and keg, although guests were available on my visit in the latter form. It was very quiet in here on a Tuesday afternoon in the summer. |
58 /100 Victoria Station (JDW) (Bar) UNIT 5 (1ST FLOOR ABOVE WHSMITH), VICTORIA STATION CONCOURSE Good place to wait for the train, has a wrap around balcony with views over the departure boards and platforms so easy to keep check on train times. Not got a lot going for it ale wise by typical 'spoons standards, only 4 pumps and one of those wasn't on. But then it's not really a place to have a session so serves its purpose if you're at Victoria with time on your hands. |
62 /100 Willow Walk (JDW) (Bar) 25 WILTON ROAD, VICTORIA Typical ´Spoons. Usually the sister pub inside the station has a better selection. |
84 /100 Victoria Station (JDW) (Bar) UNIT 5 (1ST FLOOR ABOVE WHSMITH), VICTORIA STATION CONCOURSE Handy place while travelling ... |
60 /100 Victoria Station (JDW) (Bar) UNIT 5 (1ST FLOOR ABOVE WHSMITH), VICTORIA STATION CONCOURSE Upstairs. OK during festivals or waiting for a train. |
60 /100 Victoria Station (JDW) (Bar) UNIT 5 (1ST FLOOR ABOVE WHSMITH), VICTORIA STATION CONCOURSE Visited 08/03/17. One of the better presented Spoons I’ve been to. Set out like a diner/bistro. Kinda funny that it’s not been named. A decent array of London breweries. Spotted a Cronx bottle after ordering. Good to see plenty of people with a pint at 08:30 am and not just sad looking old men. To quote the Irish dude who was behind me, Coffee? Let’s get beer, screw work. |
68 /100 Willow Walk (JDW) (Bar) 25 WILTON ROAD, VICTORIA Visited late August 2016 in the afternoon, was pretty quiet with a just a few builders having late morning fry ups. Pretty good selection across cask, and the couple I had were in pretty decent condition, staff friendly and efficient. Plenty of power points scattered around at the tables so useful destination for those travellers transitioning between train/tube/coach station, to charge up devices while supping a pint, also had the usual free JDW wifi. All in all a pretty above average spoons for selection, so worth stopping by if in the area. |
66 /100 Willow Walk (JDW) (Bar) 25 WILTON ROAD, VICTORIA Basic Wetherspoons with nothing unusual to stand it apart from many others in the chain. Visited on 17th Dec 2016 (Saturday evening), Beer selection and quality were both fine, as was the ’deep fat fried food’ we shared. Staff friendly enough, mixed clientele, age and group size: typical cross section of society really. Would visit again, but it’s not a destination pub for true ’beer hunters’ even if I did pick up two new rates. |
54 /100 Jugged Hare (Fullers) (Bar) 172 VAUXHALL BRIDGE ROAD Pleasant Fullers pub, not very busy when visited. Bit disappointed with the range available, just the normal Fullers range. |
58 /100 Jugged Hare (Fullers) (Bar) 172 VAUXHALL BRIDGE ROAD The Jugged Hare is a rather handsome and grand Fullers pub located on Vauxhall bridge road, some 5 minutes’ walk from Victoria station. The beer selection spans 5 cask ales, a couple of kegs and a small bottled selection. Not the best Fuller pubs for range, but they do tend to have a seasonal or two. More of pub to take work colleagues than a place to scooping. Not bad overall. |
60 /100 Willow Walk (JDW) (Bar) 25 WILTON ROAD, VICTORIA Slightly lacking in charm, even by Spoons standards. Still, the staff are friendly enough and the beer range is decent. Sadly, most of the cask ales I tried were not in the best of condition. |
48 /100 Willow Walk (JDW) (Bar) 25 WILTON ROAD, VICTORIA Poorly kept beer on my visit, much better off in the station. |
64 /100 Victoria Station (JDW) (Bar) UNIT 5 (1ST FLOOR ABOVE WHSMITH), VICTORIA STATION CONCOURSE Decent enough for a Spoons. Good selection of Spring festival beers. Amusing to watch all the commuters desperately rushing around in the morning. |
52 /100 Jugged Hare (Fullers) (Bar) 172 VAUXHALL BRIDGE ROAD Pretty much exactly what TheydonBois said. Visited here on my penultimate night in London as I had somehow not had a Fuller’s fix yet and knew I wouldn’t want to on my last night. Traditional pub decor, almost no one there, pretty dull, but the ales tasted fine. Go to Cask Pub and Kitchen. |
64 /100 Jugged Hare (Fullers) (Bar) 172 VAUXHALL BRIDGE ROAD Fuller’s house which used to be a former bank I believe, this establishment seems to be resting on its laurels. Atmosphere not the best and service was indifferent, their ale range was fairly limited as well. Ok I suppose if you are in the Victoria area, but as others have said, much better pubs nearby eg The Cask Pub and Kitchen. |
66 /100 Willow Walk (JDW) (Bar) 25 WILTON ROAD, VICTORIA Been here a few times, it’s much cheaper than the Spoons at Victoria station but the decor isn’t as smart. It’s quite a big place but it usually has some interesting beers on and it’s a good place to pick up a festival scoop or two.
It’s a better example of a Spoons and I’ll stick my head in to have a look if passing. |
54 /100 6 BUCKINGHAM PALACE ROAD Busy pub with a central location between Victoria Station and Buckingham Palace, a convenient place to brace yourself with a tick or two before heading off for tea at the Queen’s. |
58 /100 39-41 PALACE STREET What chriso said. Really. Very small pub, but two new Shepherd Neame cask ticks for me. A hundred yards down the street from the Phoenix, convenient. |
66 /100 Phoenix (Bar) 14 PALACE STREET A quaint little pub with a friendly atmosphere, a stone’s throw from Buckingham Palace (not very likely that the Queen would throw stones, but still ...), and an easy walk from Victoria Station. Some new potential ticks for me there, I only had time for one, which unfortunately was served too warm. Did not eat, but they have food. Might well visit again. |
58 /100 Victoria Station (JDW) (Bar) UNIT 5 (1ST FLOOR ABOVE WHSMITH), VICTORIA STATION CONCOURSE 28th March 2015. Bog standard, modern Spoons above the concourse inside the station. Really glad I read the reviews on here before I went though: the second bar area round the back (completely hidden from the front) had a lot better selection of cask beers to the front bar and I would never had ventured further inside without the knowledge. Visited on a Saturday afternoon during a beer festival. |
70 /100 Willow Walk (JDW) (Bar) 25 WILTON ROAD, VICTORIA Quite nice and cosy JDW next to Victoria station (and our hotel). Good place for a breakfast and couple of pints. Good selection of rotating casks. Worth a visit if nearby. |
64 /100 Victoria Station (JDW) (Bar) UNIT 5 (1ST FLOOR ABOVE WHSMITH), VICTORIA STATION CONCOURSE Quite regular JDW. A bit clinical. Opens early. I found some new beers. |
66 /100 Victoria Station (JDW) (Bar) UNIT 5 (1ST FLOOR ABOVE WHSMITH), VICTORIA STATION CONCOURSE Have visited a couple of times during the current Wetherspoons festival since my commute can take me through Victoria Station. Early evening it can be difficult to find a free seat. Service has been prompt and pleasant. One helpful feature worth noting is that there are screens showing the train departure times, and indicating any delays. Quite a reasonable selection outside of the Wetherspoons twice yearly festivals, sometimes including a couple of beers from newer London breweries. |
62 /100 Victoria Station (JDW) (Bar) UNIT 5 (1ST FLOOR ABOVE WHSMITH), VICTORIA STATION CONCOURSE Well. To be fair it is mostly tourists (like me) that are waiting for the train here. But you can surely get some ticks here. Especially with that festival pumps on. Well I think they do have a festival 365 days a year. |
68 /100 Victoria Station (JDW) (Bar) UNIT 5 (1ST FLOOR ABOVE WHSMITH), VICTORIA STATION CONCOURSE A very well located Spoons outpost right in the centre of Victoria Station. Great location so expect it to be fairly busy at anytime of day. Even so there seems to be less riff raff here than ay the nearby Willow Walk Spoons. This place has improved greatly since the last refurb. The now offer a choice of 10 cask ales from the 2 adjacent bar areas. This makes it quite a good option for the various beer fest Spoons have. Yes it is probably one of the most expensive Wetherspoons out there, but that still makes it cheaper than most central London pubs! If you are at Victoria station this is the pub for you. |
62 /100 Victoria Station (JDW) (Bar) UNIT 5 (1ST FLOOR ABOVE WHSMITH), VICTORIA STATION CONCOURSE If you are at Victory station step in for new tick, otherwise not worthy for special visit. |
64 /100 Willow Walk (JDW) (Bar) 25 WILTON ROAD, VICTORIA Good location across the road from Victoria Station. A worthy stop during the Spoon beer fests as with 10 handpulls there’s usually a good chance to pick up ticks. |
58 /100 Jugged Hare (Fullers) (Bar) 172 VAUXHALL BRIDGE ROAD Visited 22/12/14 around 4pm.
Bog standard Fullers pub with 4 homegrown offerings on cask, ESB, Pride, Jack Frost (seasonal), and Gales Seafarers.
Also Honeydew on keg and likely pick of the bunch Fullers Vintage ’14 and Russian Imperial Stout bottled in the fridge.
Bank conversion, trad pub interior, patio to rear. Service fine but pretty quiet during my visit.
No real reason to visit unless your hotel is nearby, there are better Fullers pubs to hit up. 5 mins walk Victoria station, 5 mins walk Cask Pub & Kitchen. |
62 /100 Victoria Station (JDW) (Bar) UNIT 5 (1ST FLOOR ABOVE WHSMITH), VICTORIA STATION CONCOURSE Situated on the concourse, upstairs between platforms 8 and 9 this recently refurbished Spoons is handy.
Beer quality has dipped a bit recently as has the range, it’s location makes it handy and probably a better option than the Willow Walk over the road.
Not the best Spoons have to offer, not the worst and if you’ve got a few mins spare for a swift drink you might just find something exciting, then again maybe not! |
60 /100 Phoenix (Bar) 14 PALACE STREET A fairly average pub in the Victoria neighbourhood. An OK selection of beer on both keg and cask, but the bottle range is pretty boring. This place is pretty expensive (£5+ per pint). Nice ambiance. Filled mostly with business people from the area. The food here is decent. Not a destination pub but it’s not terrible. The two Spoonies in the area would have more interesting beers. |
58 /100 Jugged Hare (Fullers) (Bar) 172 VAUXHALL BRIDGE ROAD Very nice pub inside, ex bank and very characterful. Let down by Fullers mediocre (by today’s standards) beers |
64 /100 Jugged Hare (Fullers) (Bar) 172 VAUXHALL BRIDGE ROAD Nice pub, former bank. Fuller’s beers. |
60 /100 Willow Walk (JDW) (Bar) 25 WILTON ROAD, VICTORIA Surprisingly good selection of local ales. Bargain prices are offset by the not terribly nice ambience. |
