60 /100 Central Hotel (JDW) (Bar) 2-4 CHESTER ROAD Did quick trip from Chester to Shotton by train 'cause we had spare time to check in to our hotel. Quite standard JDW. Very close to railway station. Easy to get here (8 mins from Chester), but not as easy to get away. Our return train was so full that they didn't let us in. Next train was something like 1.5 hours away. So we had to take bus back (some 25 mins and countless numbers of stops). |
70 /100 Central Hotel (JDW) (Bar) 2-4 CHESTER ROAD Big Weatherspoon located very close to the Shotton railway station. Large patio where the smokers and sun chasers can enjoy a beer or more. Standard Weatherspoon selection, which is ok in my world. Half empty at my visit, popular by the locals. |
68 /100 Central Hotel (JDW) (Bar) 2-4 CHESTER ROAD Fine Wetherspoon conversion with a large ground floor which is open plan but split into two defined areas. A very popular addition to the chain it also benefits from being next to the train station which serves to lines heading in all compass point directions. There’s a patio out front although the busy road it faces is nothing to shout about. It’s a comfortable place to visit with soft furnishings throughout. There’s a car park around the back but it’s not connected to the pub. The long bar sports two rows of ale pumps. |
